Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Floppy Ears' Does a Good Deed

Once upon a time there was a bunny.

Now, this was no ordinary bunny, this bunny was pink with long skinny arms and long skinny legs. This bunny had long floppy ears and I think that was how he got his name. His name was "Floppy Ears".

Floppy Ears was sitting in his bedroom, staring out the window at the beautiful garden his neighbor, Mrs. Lily, had lovingly tended to. He loved watching her work in the garden, her hands moving gently as she pruned the flowers and weeds.

As he watched, Mrs. Lily began to pull weeds out of one of her three flower beds. Floppy Ears noticed that she was getting tired and took a break. She went inside her house, leaving her garden tools behind.

Floppy Ears felt a sudden surge of excitement and purpose. He got up from his bed and quickly changed into his gardening clothes. He ran outside to see if Mrs. Lily was still tired, and that's when he saw the other two flower beds filled with weeds.

Without hesitation, Floppy Ears got to work. He pulled out the weeds, carefully digging around the roots so as not to damage the flowers. He worked hard, the sweat dripping from his brow as he finished up the last bed.

Just as he was finishing up, Mrs. Lily came out of her house, looking refreshed and pleased. Her eyes widened in surprise as she took in the sight of the three neatly weeded flower beds.

"Oh, Floppy Ears! You did all of these?" she exclaimed, her voice full of wonder.

Floppy Ears beamed with pride. "I wanted to help you, Mrs. Lily," he said, feeling happy that he had been able to do something nice for someone else.

Mrs. Lily smiled warmly at Floppy Ears. "Well, you certainly have helped me," she said. "Would you like to come in and have some lemonade with me?"

Floppy Ears' eyes lit up at the offer. "Yes, please!" he said, following Mrs. Lily into her house.

As they sat at the kitchen table, sipping their lemonade and chatting about gardening, Floppy Ears felt a sense of pride and satisfaction wash over him. He had done a good deed, and it felt wonderful.

Mrs. Lily reached out and patted Floppy Ears on the hand. "Thank you for your kindness, dear," she said. "You're a true helper."

Floppy Ears smiled, feeling happy that he had been able to make a difference in someone's life. He knew that he would always try to help others whenever he could, just like he had done for Mrs. Lily today.

The End.
