"Good. So, did you manage to eat breakfast or did you rush here without having anything?" Henry asked at the same time her stomach growled loudly.
They shared a light laugh before Henry instructed Daniel to have breakfast arranged for all of them, noting that he and his son had yet to eat.
"I just rushed here without informing anyone in advance. I'll go speak to my friends so no one goes asking around about me," Elena informed her father before heading towards the balcony.
Turning on her phone, Elena was met with a flurry of missed calls and messages from Liam and others.
[Author: Yes, Princess Elena is none other than Leona.]
The top message was from Liam.
[Liam: Hey, where are you?
Liam: Are you coming to college today?
Liam: Hey, answer back I am worried.
Liam: Lea please answer the call.
Liam: Are you not feeling well? Should I bring a doctor?
Liam: Lea???...]
There were numerous messages, enough to give Elena a slight headache.
[Lea: Hey, sorry I couldn't inform you guys before coming. I was in a rush.
Lea: My brother met with an accident so I came back home.
Liam: ...]
After replying to the messages, Elena waited for Liam's response. Seeing him typing, then stopping, she decided he might be busy and logged out of the messaging app, intending to return to her father.
However, her phone began to ring. It was Liam calling.
"Hello?" Elena answered.
"Girl, you got me worried. You should have at least messaged before leaving," Liam chided gently.
"Sorry," Elena apologized, then there was silence for a few seconds before Liam asked, "How is your brother now?"
To which Lea explained, "He is still unconscious. The doctors have said he might regain consciousness once the medical effects wear off."
"What happened? How did this accident happen?" Liam inquired further.
"I don't know exactly yet. We just know it occurred when he was on his way to another meeting after seeing me yesterday. We'll have to wait for him to wake up to know the full story," Elena replied.
"Don't worry; he'll be fine," Liam reassured her.
"Yes, he has to," Elena replied, her voice tinged with emotion, as Liam comforted her.
"By the way, don't you have a class now?" Lea asked him.
"Yes, I just came out to make this call. It's fine," Liam assured her.
"Thank you. Now, go back to class, and I'll go have my breakfast," Lea said.
"Ouch... Heartless girl, you used my shoulder to cry, and now you're disposing of me?" Liam teased, and they shared a laugh.
"Okay, go have your food. We'll speak later. Bye," Liam said before ending the call.
Elena stared at her phone for a moment, shaking her head, before returning inside.
"Who was that?" Henry asked as she entered, noticing the small smile on her face.
"Just a friend, Dad," Elena replied, maintaining a calm demeanor.
"Are you sure? Your smile and the way you were speaking suggest otherwise," Henry observed keenly.
"Dad?" Elena responded, feigning annoyance.
"Okay," Henry relented, deciding not to press further. "Let's go; breakfast must be ready." With that, father and daughter made their way to the dining area.
