I viewed the list of classes I had for the rest of the year, and hmm looks like I got regular classes since I was normal compared to the others; for this semester I had,
1. Infernal Etiquette: Proper manners and behaviour in demonic society. (7:00 am-800 am)
2. Diabolical History: The history and lore of demons and their influence on mortal realms. (8:30 am-9:30 am)
3. Infernal Politics: The power structures and alliances within demon society. (11:00 pm-12:00 pm)
4. Demonic Biology: Understanding the physiology and anatomy of demons. (1:00 pm-2:00 pm)
5. Infernal Geometry: The geometry and architecture of the underworld and demonic realms. (2:15 pm-3:15 pm)
6. Abyssal Linguistics: Learning the languages of demons and other infernal creatures. (4:00 pm-5:00 pm)
7. Demonic Gardening: Cultivating and tending to plants and flora native to demonic realms. (5:00 pm-5:40 pm)
I felt as if tears were about to fall out, how the hell did I end up in this mess and is that math's I see inform of Infernal Geometry, well I'm cooked.
My timetable says that I have Demonic Gardening, well at least it is something I know, hmm the class should be about this way, I walked slowly to the door as I heard the supposed teacher talking from the other side of the door, I decided to knock the door as my heart was beating so damn fast.
As I entered the demonic gardening class, my heart hammered in my chest like a trapped bird desperately seeking escape. I could feel the weight of their stares, the curious gazes of my demon classmates boring into me like daggers.
The teacher's voice, deep and resonant, cut through the tension like a knife. "Class, it seems we have a new addition among us today," he announced, his eyes fixing on me with an intensity that made my skin prickle with discomfort.
"Umm, Hi everyone I'm Estelle'" I said nervously but all I got were blank stares and one student coughed
"Allow me to introduce Estelle, the human to attend our gruesome school in the demon world." the teacher said
I offered a tentative smile, my nerves threatening to betray me as I stood there, feeling exposed under their scrutiny. But then, to my surprise, the teacher's expression softened, a hint of mischief gleaming in his eyes.
"Now, let us welcome Estelle with open arms and show her the wonders of demonic gardening," he declared, his voice filled with a sense of camaraderie that I hadn't expected. "Who knows, perhaps she'll even teach us a thing or two about the beauty of the mortal world."
And just like that, the atmosphere in the room shifted, the tension giving way to laughter and applause. I felt a wave of relief wash over me, a warm rush of gratitude flooding my veins as I realized that maybe, just maybe, I wasn't as out of place as I had feared.
Now where to sit my eyes glanced left, right, back and forth to desperately find at least a spot to sit
"Estelle you can sit next to Malphus, at the back near the window" The teacher pointed out next to a boy sitting calmly like a Greek god waiting for people to bow down to him, he was a definition of perfection, with light blonde hair and midnight blue eyes that looked like the darkest purest night he seemed to have the power to seduce the holiest nun my eyes wanted to travel down wanting to check out his well-toned chest hidden with the excuse of a school uniform, I decided to snap out of it.
'Estelle behave this is not appropriate of you.'
As I was nearing my seat a certain someone stepped hard on my foot as I passed I winced in pain as I felt the sharp pressure on my foot, a scowl forming on my lips as I turned to confront my assailant. Standing before me was a girl with long locks of green hair that seemed to writhe like serpents, and eyes as yellow as a cat's, gleaming with a mischievous glint.
Her smirk was positively wicked as she regarded me with amusement, clearly revelling in my discomfort. "Oops, my bad," she purred, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she made a show of innocence. "Didn't see you there, little human."
I bristled at her condescending tone, clenching my fists in frustration. "Watch where you're going," I snapped, my voice laced with irritation. "Or do you get off on hurting people?" I heard gasps in class probably them thinking I would behave like some female leads that I read in books, I refuse to go down without a fight.
The girl's smirk widened into a grin, her eyes dancing with amusement at my defiance. "Oh, feisty, aren't we?" she chuckled, her tone dripping with mockery. "I like that. Makes things more fun."
"Enough of these shenanigans Morgana, Behave!" the teacher said authoritatively
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at her arrogance, refusing to let her see how much her taunts were getting under my skin. With a huff of annoyance, I turned away, determined not to give her the satisfaction of seeing me riled up.
But as I took my seat, I couldn't shake the feeling that this encounter was just the beginning of a long and tumultuous rivalry with the green-haired troublemaker. And as I glanced back at her, I couldn't help but wonder what other tricks she had up her sleeve, and how far she was willing to go to make my life a living hell.
"Stupid thing you did back there human, my advice is to stay out of trouble you don't know what you're dealing with." the boy named Malphus said to me
"Oh, thanks for the enlightenment, Malphus," I retorted, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "I had no idea I was dealing with such a towering intellect."
Malphus's ego seemed to swell at my acknowledgement, a smug grin spreading across his face. "Good," he said, his voice dripping with self-importance. "It's important to know your place around here."
I rolled my eyes, resisting the urge to roll them. Dealing with Malphus's inflated ego was like navigating a minefield, but I knew better than to provoke him further. "Sure thing," I muttered, already regretting the decision to engage with him.
It looks like every handsome boy in this school just has a bad attitude or is it just sheer bad luck, as far as I'm concerned the rest of the lesson was great and I got to learn about the snapbite carnivorous plants that would eat anything that has flesh including the hand of a demon, it was named like that because it moved so fast without warning whenever someone was close to it, it was moderate size but still fearless, other vines in class would glow shades of blue, red and orange and would release such good scent that smelled like sweets. Herbs and roots of the Plixir tree could be used to treat diseases and heal any demon fast.
Although I was completely normal far from the rest who would use their powers to grow plants and other stuff at least I had a keen eye and got to experience wonderful things which other people from my world couldn't experience. I looked around my class I got to take in the beauty after my anger and nervousness calmed down a bit, it was something one doesn't get to see each day. The class aesthetic was green and looked like a large indoor garden with different kinds of plants and flowers growing around the wall some glowing and others not.
The walls were lined with shelves overflowing with jars of strange and exotic plants, their twisted vines and gnarled roots reaching out like fingers in the dim light. In the centre of the room stood a massive oak table, its surface cluttered with pots and gardening tools of all shapes and sizes.
But it was the plants themselves that truly stole the show. From the ceiling hung vines adorned with vibrant blossoms that seemed to pulse with an otherworldly glow, casting strange shadows on the walls. In one corner, a patch of moss covered the floor like a lush green carpet, while in another, a cluster of carnivorous plants snapped their jaws shut in anticipation of their next meal.
The air was thick with the scent of earth and decay, a heady mixture that sent shivers down my spine. Despite the eerie ambience, there was an undeniable sense of life and energy in the room, as if the plants themselves were alive with dark and ancient magic.
Demonic gardening class was like stepping into a realm of twisted beauty and untold mysteries, and I couldn't wait to uncover its secrets. Lessons were over and people were heading out Malphus packed his bags and left as if nothing happened, Margona came over to me,
"Looks like I won't be bored this year." she went off as she laughed evilly
"Ms. Estelle before you leave, Headmaster Hemlock was requesting your presence at his office'"
"Alright professor"
"It's Professor Wilrich, haha, I forgot to introduce myself during class
"Got it Sir" I said with an awkward smile
As I exited the class, I suddenly forgot the headmaster's office after been showed around by Xavian, the memory of the headmaster's office slipping away like sand through my fingers.
