"I wish to go say goodnight to my mother before she falls asleep, sooooo I am gonna leave. Goodnight Aunt Vayla." Saying this Kurao waves his hand and leaving the empresses' room while clenching the book.
After a few minutes, he arrives at his mother door on the 3rd floor of the palace. Excited to show what he just picked up from the treasury he quickly knocked on the door upon arriving.
*KNOCK*
*KNOCK*
*KNOCK*
A few moments pass before the door is slightly creaked open to reveal Kurao's mother dressed in a semi-transparent black sleeping gown, she seemed to be sleeping as her eyes seemed to have been just awoken, disregarding the fact he probably just woke her up, Kurao smiles excited to show off what he chose from the treasury.
"Mother I have finally visited father's treasury!"
Ella who was visibly drowsy, starts to rub her eyes trying to wake up while looking at the smiling boy in front of her.
"What was *Yawn* that little Kurao?" She spoke in an attempt to sober up faster.
"I picked something from father's private treasury!" Kurao said again pushing the book forward.
She looked at the book for a moment before opening the door wider and speaking in a slightly groggy voice.
"Come on in and tell Mama all about your adventures to darling's treasure trove." She then lead Kurao to sit on the small couch and made him sit on it well she sat beside him.
"It all started when Aunt Vayla put a key through the wall.." Kurao then explained what happened and all the things he saw like the magical relics, legendary tier spells, and even about the Life Tree Branch.
"I wouldn't expect less of the man I choose, but it is still too mind blowing to know he even has a branch of the Life Tree in there." Ella said now fully awake and absorbed in her sons tale.
"Wait, you have never been in father's treasury?"
"Well I have never been in there before, but I have heard of it. The reason I haven't been in the vault myself is the fact that I don't really have permission from darling." Ella felt it was a bit unfair that she didn't have access to it. She then looks back towards Kurao and remembers the book she saw with him when he arrived at her room.
"So is that book you choose the thing you claimed from the treasury?" She pointed at the book that was in Kurao's lap.
Kurao hearing this looked down at his lap seeing the book that he forgot was there, but remembering what he saw in the book he got super excited to show her what was in the book.
"Yes this is! I decided to choose this book cause I am pretty sure that this was a test from father."
"Test?" Ella questionably asked
"Yeah, I am pretty sure it was a test." He vaguely answered, Ella wanted to ask more but looked at the book and saw the strange writing on the cover.
"Little Kurao what is that book about, it must've been special to be in darling's treasury." Kurao who heard this brightened over what she said about his choice, he quickly opened the book before showing her
"I am almost a hundred percent sure this book has some secrets, remember the mana/runeless weapon I talked about seeing in the treasury earlier?"
"The one that made a loud sound?" Ella answered back following her sons pacing.
"Well look here." He pointed at the page that had the blueprint of the wooden metal hybrid stick weapon.
"This book showed how it was created and even other variants of the thing, but that is not the only thing." Flipping through a few pages back until he found it and pointed at the drawing.
"A Pen?" Ella looked at Kurao questionably, now feeling a bit skeptical in Kurao's decision.
Kurao who saw the look on his mother's face tried to elaborate on why he choose the book.
"No, not the pen look its the blueprint and not just that." He flipped a few pages before landing on a page filled with different lines of undecipherable text with a picture of the human anatomy.
"See this, I know its a bit of a stretch but I think this book has secrets or theories about mana power that isn't even listed in any other books in the library."
He pointed at the light blue shaded circle that was beside the drawn heart. Ella who was listening looked at the page then looked at Kurao before sighing.
"How can you even guess that, when you have just stepped into the world of a magician little Kurao?" Ella shakes her head and starts to get a little more upset over his choice after learning about what he choose compared to what he could have picked.
"No, I am almost one hundred percent sure that I have never seen anything or read anything that these pictures depict. But there has to be credibility to it, there are many things that we use that have full schematics for and drawings on things that haven't been seen but I can see that they are viably possible to create."
Kurao desperately tried to explain on what he sees in the book, But Ella on the hand let out a depressed sigh hearing what was coming out of her son's mouth.
"Even if there are blueprints or whatever you call it, Can you even read it? Cause I have never seen a language like that before. It would've been a better choice to pick the legendary spells or even one of the legendary grade forged accessories."
"It's not like that mother, Like I said it was most likely a test as well! I know I wouldn't have been able to walk out of there picking any of those things."
"There must've been more options to choose from if it were a test, instead of the book right, I know my son is smart enough to not pick something useless?" Ella questioned.
Kurao paused seeing what she was trying to tell him and dropped his head down as he released a depressed sigh. He realized arguing on this topic was gonna be useless, seeing that both of his parental figures didn't see the book in the way he did.
"I am a bit tired, its been a long day mother, so I think I am going to check in now."
Kurao got up from the couch and walked towards the door. Turning around he sees his mother who still stared at him, offended as if he just slapped her. His heart felt squeezed seeing her look at him like this, as he was quickly getting used to her being a lot more caring in recent days. He just stared back and gave a wry smile.
"Love you mother, Good night." Closing the door he slowly walks over to his room that was across from hers with his head drooped down and a frown forming on his face.
'I know you don't see it yet mother, but I will show you that this book is something special.'
