Chapter 38 - Chapter 37 Mandarin Challenge

Early the next morning, Indra heard someone knocking on the door.

To his surprise, it was Lorna Dane who showed up, holding a plastic bag with a lollipop in her mouth.

"Good morning," Lorna Dane greeted as she walked into the room.

Indra frowned, closing the door behind her, and asked, "How did you know I live here?"

Sitting down on the couch, Lorna Dane acted like a hostess and replied, "Because there's a magnetic connection between us."

She then placed the plastic bag she was carrying on the coffee table.

"What's this?" Indra inquired.

With the lollipop in her mouth, Lorna Dane replied, "Your breakfast."

Indra walked over, opened the bag, and took a look. French fries, instant noodles, and cola.

"Do you usually have such a lavish breakfast?" Indra asked helplessly.

Lorna Dane shook her head, and a hint of sadness appeared on her delicate face. "I searched the whole street to buy breakfast for you, so I haven't had mine yet."

If Indra lived in a remote area, Lorna Dane's purchase would have been understandable. However, Indra lived downtown, right above a convenience store. French fries, instant noodles, and cola – weren't these easy to find?

Indra pushed the plastic bag towards Lorna Dane and said, "Go ahead and eat."

Lorna Dane glanced at the bag on the table and leaned closer to Indra, asking, "Don't you consider making breakfast for me?"

Indra shook his head. Cooking was something he truly didn't know how to do.

With a mischievous grin, Lorna Dane reached into her pocket and took out a nickel, holding it up to Indra. "How about we flip a coin to decide? If it lands on heads, I'll cook. If it's tails, you cook. How about that?"

Indra raised an eyebrow. This was interesting. Lorna Dane, Magneto's daughter, inherited her father's abilities. It seemed like she could control the outcome of a coin flip perfectly. But with my Luck System at 100%, it might not be that simple.

Just as he was thinking, Indra heard a prompt in his ear, "Of course, the host's luck is at 100%, no need to worry, let her flip!"

"How about it?" Lorna Dane asked when Indra didn't respond, looking confident of her impending victory.

Indra smiled and said, "I have exceptionally good luck. Are you really sure you want to compete with me?"

Lorna Dane smirked. She had seen people with good luck before, but luck was all about probability. Faced with a situation with a 100% probability, luck wouldn't matter.

"Let's do it!" Lorna Dane tossed the coin to Indra firmly. "You flip, and let's see how lucky you really are."

What started as a game suddenly became intriguing because both sides seemed to have a 100% chance of winning.

In the end, it was just about cooking, and playing along wouldn't hurt.

Indra took the coin and casually tossed it into the air.

Lorna Dane extended her right hand, using her superpower to suspend the coin in mid-air.

She smiled at Indra and asked, "Are you sure you still want to compete?"

Indra nodded.

Lorna Dane looked triumphant as she saw the heads facing her. She then changed the coin's position in mid-air.

Suddenly, her expression changed.

There was a clear "ding" as the coin landed on the ground.

Both sides were heads?!

A misprinted coin?!

Both sides were heads, meaning?

No matter how she controlled it?

It would always be heads?!

This was outrageous!

Lorna Dane got this coin from the store when she bought the candy. She wasn't short on money and wouldn't care about a nickel. But she never expected it to be a misprinted coin.

Lorna Dane was completely shocked.

A misprinted coin, in simple terms, was an accident that occurred during casting. It could have both sides as heads or tails, and it was extremely rare. It had significant collector's value, being a one-in-a-hundred-thousand chance.

And Indra encountered it?

Lorna Dane looked at Indra, feeling a bit cheated.

He had a point, though.

Lorna Dane hastily searched through her pockets again. Obviously, she only had this one coin and no others.

Even if they gambled again, the result would be the same.

Feeling somewhat frustrated, Lorna Dane looked at Indra.

A person who could control magnetic fields lost a coin toss to Indra?

This seemed utterly unbelievable!

But she did lose!

Damn it ,Their is nothing she could do!

Lorna Dane glared at Indra and stormed out of the room.

After a while, Lorna Dane came back with a bunch of burgers and give them to Indra. She held one burger in her hand.

Looking at Indra, Lorna Dane took a fierce bite of the burger.

Just as she was about to speak, Indra's TV suddenly lit up.

The symbol of the Ten Rings appeared on the screen, followed by Mandarin appearing once again.

"I've got my eye on you, Inferno," Mandarin said arrogantly, touching his ring.

This caught Indra by surprise.

He haven't even gone to find him yet.

And he's already challenging him?

Lorna Dane, beside him, looked at Indra and asked, "Who's that?"

Indra leaned back on the couch again and said, "Just an actor."

Lorna Dane looked at Indra and asked, "Is he challenging you?"

Indra nodded.

"Let's go! Let's take him down!" Lorna Dane threw her bag behind her and raised an eyebrow.

Indra stood up, smiling at Lorna Dane.

"Let's go! Let's take him down!"
