Chapter 3 - A little tease

"I see you're ready."

Stunned on hearing those words, Huoqiang turned around swiftly and when her misty cognac eyes met his icy blue ones, they couldn't help but stare.

Huoqiang felt her heart squeeze. She had never expected him to be this…glorious, alluring, charming… She was short of words. His side profile was pretty impressive but seeing his full face made her melt that she didn't know when she let out a warm smile. From the graceful jawlines to the perfectly carved eyebrows and those tempting lips and the most alluring feature;his icy blue eyes. His silver hair, another outstanding component of this god before her, was packed up with strands fallen at the side.

"You sure do like to stare, Miss Huoqiang," Li Jun teased, "you find my appearance tempting?"

Huoqiang was immediately drawn from her wild thoughts and fantasy. Hearing his words, her face turned red in embarrassment. She quickly turned around not wanting him to see it. Too late though.

"You're not bad," Huoqiang summoned courage to speak.

Li Jun only smirked knowingly and walked passed her.

"This way to the dining room, Miss Huoqiang," he simply said and walked on.

Huoqiang quickly followed him trying to keep up with the Li Jun's sturdy yet quick footsteps.

Soon enough they arrived at the dining room where the last silverware had just been placed. Li Jun sat at one end of the table and gestured to Huoqiang to sit at the other.

Both seated, the food was then served. Various assorted dishes were placed on the table. If she counted, they would probably be more than fifty. Only when her tummy rumbled did she realize that she hadn't eaten all day. Without waiting for Li Jun's consent she began to dig into the food, savoring every taste.

Li Jun looked at her in amusement. His lips curled up. Such a delicate flower. If he had known sooner that she was this hungry, he would have ordered for lunch to be served earlier.

Huoqiang didn't even care to think if Li Jun was eating yet but when a certain thought struck her, she stopped abruptly. Li Jun noticing this frowned a bit.

"Is something wrong, Miss Huoqiang?" He asked. A little concern beaming in his icy tone.

"Umm apart from us, is anyone else coming down for lunch?" Huoqiang asked nervously. She had stopped realising that there could probably be another member or even members of his family who would join them and here was, devouring each plate.

Li Jun already quickly analysed the situation and smiled inwardly.

Another avenue to tease her, he thought within him.

"Actually yes, there is a person or two who would be down for dinner in a few minutes and what disappointment it would be when they realize their meal has been gobbled down by a hungry flamestar," he said.

Huoqiang looked as though she would scream. Her face flushed in panic.

This was bad! What was she going to do? How could she have been so impatient that she had eaten and refused others their share? But no! She won't take the fall alone.

She immediately glared at Li Jun.

"How could you sit there and watch me eat other people's share of food and you said nothing. Absolutely nothing!" Huoqiang complained bitterly.

"Oh please. Miss Huoqiang, must I remind you that self awareness comes first. You put your needs before caring about others. How is that my blame to bear?" Li Jun cunningly turned the tables against her.

Huoqiang sighed out in frustration. An idea, though you wouldn't call it clever, struck her.

An apology! That was it, a small apology to the people she had wronged then live normally.

"Can you take me to them? I want to see…" It was then Huoqiang saw the joking expression on his face. His face filled with mockery and amusion.

"So…you were lying?" Huoqiang asked in disbelief. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry but she felt wrong.

"That is so unfair. I was really worried there and pressured. Is this what you do? Mess around with people's heads? Tease them?" Huoqiang wailed, "it's totally unfair."

Li Jun chuckled heartily. Quite a while since he did that. This little lady had her way of making an atmosphere brighter. Seeing her wronged face alone was quite entertaining.

"Does this look comical to you?" Huoqiang demanded. "Is this very funny?"

Li Jun could only stare at her.

"Eat or the food will get cold," Li Jun said then added, "you never know. Perhaps those two might really come down."

Being the foodie that she particularly is, she continued eating the rest of the food. Li Jun was quite lucky he had some to spare for himself.

Quite an appetite! He stated observed her as she ate. All in all, her actions since she arrived had been quite chucklesome. It had been quite long since he had this much company in the house. The servants were too intimidated by him and Shang was a man who kept to his own business. His father the Celestial king was currently attending to heavenly matters and his mother, the Phoenix had been kept somewhere safe from the cruel ones of the world who wanted to lay hands on her powers. His four brothers were always on the battlefield and his only sister had been married off. Only he lived at this palace-like mansion. He was never on the battle grounds except when urgent so he protected his people, the Water tribe. But with this girl at his side, he felt the void was filled.

"Aren't you going to eat?" Huoqiang asked when she noticed he wasn't eating.

"My appetite is surprisingly low. I'll eat later," he said coldly hiding any trace of warmth he had felt just now.

"Ohh…" Huoqiang nodded in understanding then continued her food.

Li Jun watched her again silently. She was undoubtedly the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on, fact be fact, and the most captivating place on her face were her cognac eyes;so deep and luring.

He could only help but watch the little girl who could easily get tensed up with a little tease.
