The Celestial King was being summoned. This was trouble for the four commanders. The Celestial King was the ruler of the heavenly realm; he knew all things, he saw all things. If their lie was fished out, why disgrace it would be not only for them but for their father, the Celestial King himself.
The weather grew cloudy and a figure descended from the heavens; white clouds about him, rays of sunshine above him. The Celestial King walked majestically into the chamber dressed in an armor of gold and a golden crown sat atop his head. All present bowed even the Emperor lowered his head in obeisance. This was no mere immortal. He was equivalent to their god.
"What is it Shang? There are pressing issues I'm currently attending to." The Celestial King said to the Emperor. Unlike the Emperor, the Celestial King was brown-haired, some loosely packed at the front and the rest falling at the back. He was quite a handsome man who had a striking resemblance to our very own Li Jun.
"So you must know then" The Emperor stated.
"Know?" The Celestial King asked in pretence, stopping his graceful strides right besides his sons.
"Father!" The four commanders called out and bowed respectfully.
The Celestial King let out a mumbled grump. He looked intensely at them. His eyes seeming to know their every secrets.
"General Kang explain what you've told me to your the Celestial King," the Emperor ordered.
"Yes Your Grace," Li Kang replied to the Emperor then turned to face his father who looked at him expressionless.
Li Kang narrated the same 'untruthful ordeal' to the Celestial King. He quivered as he explained though he tried not to show it.
When he was done, there was a deafening silence in the room.
"How dare you!" The Celestial King suddenly bellowed.
The whole room was shaken. What was the King on about? What could possibly make him bellow in a fit of rage?
No one said a word; no one dared to. They had rather waited and see what what he has to say.
Meanwhile the brothers definitely knew what was coming. How foolish they were! He was the Celestial King! They shouldn't have possibly thought they'd get away with it. He knew their false statement from the moment they planned it. They were in for doom!
"You lie before mortals and dare lie before me?" The Celestial King questioned.
"Lord of the heavenly realm, what seems to be the problem?" The Emperor asked.
"The problem is that these four deception smothered snakes have lied before the council," The Celestial King answered.
The Emperor was not given the chance to ask further questions as the four commanders trembled, fell on their knees and begged for mercy.
The council was confused. What lie had they uttered?
"These four idiots were drunk asleep when the Black Knights attacked their men." The Celestial King explained.
"My King... Father... forgive us," the brothers pleaded on their knees.
"Do not call me father! I am ashamed to have sons like you," declared the Celestial King.
"This is indeed a treacherous sin. You let your guard down and your men got killed. Not only that, you dare lie before the council. This is punishable by death!" The Emperor proclaimed.
If the commanders were shaking before, they were trembling now. They begged with all their might but sadly to no avail.
"What do you have we do to them, my Lord?" The Emperor asked.
The Celestial King who already had his back turned to them slightly turned his neck.
"Being my son's, they're immortal. You can't kill them; only I can finish them off and I don't intend to even if I wanted.. otherwise do as you please."
With that said, the Celestial King left.
"Take them to the dungeon!"
~~~~~~~~
I wonder if she's sleeping, Li Jun thought as he stood in front of Huoqiang's door.
"She probably is," he concluded and proceeded to his room right next to hers.
After shutting the door behind him, helet out a sigh.
Had it been his 'little pet' had not come along, he would have died of boredom.
'His little pet'...he smirked.
She really was something, wasn't she? Occupying his head every now and then.. always on his mind.
Li Jun chuckled out
Who would have guessed? That he who always got irritated by most girls, the drooling one especially, would fall head over heels with this petite figure. Such irony!
It was almost like....
Li Jun paused in his thoughts. He felt another presence in the room asides his; a very familiar one at that.
"Someone's been busy lately, I see," a familiar voice said behind him.
"Same as you....father," Li Jun said and turned around.
Lo and behold, his father, the Celestial King, in all majesty, stood before him with a smile on his face.
Li Jun always found favour in the eyes of his father. Unlike his brothers who found pleasure in their liquor, bringing shame to their parents, Li Jun was different. He brought honour to the family but he didn't see it as much. Besides he loved his brothers regardless of their behaviours and still looked up to them.
Now here's the twist; Li Jun didn't quite like his father. He had been strict with him from childhood, gave him the toughest training and yet wasn't there for him. He was too busy with 'heavenly' matters.
"What brings you here?" Li Jun said with a straight face.
"You still haven't gotten over your grudges, have you?" The Celestial King asked with searching eyes.
"I doubt," was the stern reply.
The Celestial King sighed.
"We'll talk about this some other time," his father said, "I've come here for something else."
~Silence
"The Dark Lord is awakening. There's fear he might come back again," the Celestial King said.
"So?"
"This means war, Li Jun. If he awakens there'll be war!" The Celestial King pointed out.
"How's that my problem?" Li Jun asked.
He knew where his father was driving at. His father wanted him to fight against the Dark Lord. He had done it before and he wants him to do it again.
"It is because I believe he'll be back stronger!" The Celestial King said loudly but steady. "You must be ready Li Jun."
"What about my brothers?" Li Jun asked.
"There has been some mishaps. I fear they're in trouble.. we'll talk about that tomorrow." The Celestial King said.
"I see," was the response.
"The girl..." The Celestial King began.
""What about her?" Li Jun asked.
"She's at the door," was the reply.
Li Jun turned around and did noticed there was a shadow at his doorstep. Turning back around to where his father stood, his old man was gone. Rays of sunlight flashing were he stood.
They ought to give him a prize for a magic show or something, Li Jun thought with a poker face.
Now about the girl.....
