10 YEARS LATER
It's the day of the grimoires and everybody is excited everyone is lining up for miles where they can get one even Asta who waits his turn but on the other side of the coin Yuno makes sure that he's first in line even sleeping there several days in a row waiting for the chance to get his grimoire meanwhile Asta practiced his flame magic until he could control it like he could his mana he did this for several years after finding out that he could use fire magic also during this time he awakened a very special sword and met a man who taught him how to wield it properly as well on how to forge one out of his element they trained together for 3 years.
During the ceremony Yuno got his 4 leaf clover grimoire he smirked then left Noelle got hers as well as Mimosa but the shock came when Asta came for his grimoire when he put his hands up and closed his eyes the whole room shook the books trembled they all glowed then they parted revealing a tome thought long hidden since the death of the demon that the first wizard king killed it flew all around the room countless people tried to grab it but it landed in Asta's hands it was grimoire with white bindings red back with a black dragon this shocked the caretaker because he thought that this book was lost to history he only hopes that Asta never learns the true powers of that book.
Upon opening his eyes he celebrates then shows his family his grimoire they congratulate him they throw him a feast of pop potatoes then asks what his plans are he says that he's going to be a magic knight but he's got a couple things to do first before he leaves sister Lily asks what's that he says get a holder for my grimoire and get stuff for my journey they smile and say that they've already gotten everything ready for that he is shocked but doesn't question it then he thinks that there's only one more thing to do he sneaks out in the middle at night heads to the bones grabs the anti magic sword as well as its grimoire then puts it into his current grimoire and it absorbs everything both the sword and the grimoire which surprises Asta he closes his book then heads home not noticing that his grimoire has added quite a few pages to it not just on anti magic but on sword magic .
Next day he says goodbye to everyone then he makes his way to the capital to become a magic knight the journey is tough there's man eating creatures hurricane force winds torrential downpours horrible terrain that he's never encountered before and a scorching desert between him and becoming a magic knight he does uses as little mana as possible to help him overcome these obstacles so he can make himself stronger the other 3 main characters took carriages or brooms to get there when those 3 arrived people were fawning over them because of their family name when Asta arrived those that did praise him did so because they knew how he got there the old fashioned way.
They have made it to the capital now it's time for the magic knights entrance exams that they have every year however not everyone gets chosen to be in a magic knight squad to get chosen the captains of the squads have to raise their hands if they want you in their squad the squads are: Golden Dawn, Black Bulls, Silver Eagles, Crimson Lions, Aqua Deer, Purple Orca, Blue Rose, Green Mantis, and Coral Peacock the captains of each squad are:
Aqua Deer - Rill Boismortier
Black Bulls - Yami sukehiro
Blue Rose- Charlotte Roselei
Coral Peacock- Dorothy Unsworth
Crimson Lions - Fuegoleon Vermillion
Golden Dawn - William Vangence
Green Mantis - Jack the Ripper
Purple Orca - Gueldre Poizot
Silver Eagles - Nozel Silva
The exam takes place in the castle town of Kikka even though it happens every year the town throws a huge festival to celebrate the new crop of magic knights that they'll be getting there's games fireworks food stalls the stores sell everything half off and crime is also down by half believe it or not but this event is the best thing to happen for this town their economy gets a serious boost during these exams even for those that don't pass but they know those that do will be long time customers if they entice them to spend money on certain items.
The exam itself is in the center of town in a coliseum that looks like its surrounded by buildings there's no roof several hallways on the ground for the contestants to enter from and 9 on the upper level for the captains to enter from also plenty of space for them to sit and judge the exams there's hundreds of people trying out for the magic knights before they begin you have to get your grimoire checked by the clerk upon seeing Asta's grimoire they freaked out about the power contained inside it then named him 165 he made it to the area with everyone else saw these weird bird things on people but he only had one on him he started meeting people the captains arrived Sekke gave info on the captains and Asta met Yuno they hit it off Yuno wants to be the wizard king and Asta wants to be a magic knight captain of his very own squad.
hearing this makes people laugh at them but when the captains hear this they have varied reactions to their dreams Yami thinks that Asta's dream is the easiest dream to achieve out of the 2 after that the exams begin they consist of a series of tests to test the proficiency of how well you use your magic power the tests are:
Test 1- Flying a Broom
Test 2- Magic Power
Test 3- Creation Magic
Test 4- Evolution Magic
Test 5- Combat Skill
TEST 1
Everyone was given a broom by the captain of the Golden Dawn seeing one but never riding one before Asta was kinda nervous but once the test started he was all wobbly until he took Sekke's advice then started going with his instincts once he started flying everyone was impressed with him though there were several people who didn't do that well some didn't even make it off of the ground due to nerves others barely made it off the ground some had trouble flying even with advice now its time for the next test.
TEST 2
Everyone has to shoot magic at targets to see if they can not only hit them but destroy them unfortunately most of the people there can't destroy the stone targets or aren't skilled enough to hit the moving paper ones just the wooden posts when Yuno gave Asta advice on the last type of targets it unfortunately brought attention to him not just from the captains but from those competing as well what was supposed to be a simple spell to destroy one target ended up blowing up 4 of them completely there's nothing left not even ashes remains the captains are shocked that someone of his skill level is so powerful makes them wonder if he's really a commoner.
TEST 3
Everyone has to create something out of magic they create various things trying to wow the captains Asta closes his eyes lets go of everything and begins sculpting a dragon out of fire that gets as big as his body he starts flying it around the arena not knowing that's what he's doing this display makes everyone look at him in shock and awe including the captains they can't believe what they're seeing right now there are several squad captains who want Asta though there are also several who don't because of how they operate.
TEST 4
Everyone has to push their magic to the the stage either past the magic they're using or go one step back everyone goes a different way doing it Asta turns his fire into smoke then sends it at the captain who is smoking a cigarette and only him making the other captains laugh at him this ticks Yami off until it clears then Asta writes in big letters with smoke quit smoking or i'll do it every day until you die this just made captain Roselei giggle because she's been trying to get him to quit for years he won't listen to her.
TEST 5
Everyone has to pair up and fight to see who gets to be a magic knight several people fight including Mimosa Noelle and Yuno the last one is Asta VS Sekke he uses bronze magic to create a bomb barrier hoping to make Asta attack it and blow himself up however once he looks at his grimoire he sees that the anti magic sword is in here along with a bunch of sword magic spells for now he summons the anti magic sword which surprises everyone because he pulled it out of his grimoire and attacks Sekke winning the match.
