The first match of the mock tournament is Gordon VS Grey Gordon and Grey start it off with hand to hand combat but before that Grey transforms into Gordon seeing this shocks Gordon but he gets into his fighting stance as he faces another duplicate of himself the two begin to trade blows slowly to guage the other and get a feel on how strong the other person is after that they ramp things up by going faster hitting each other harder and going through all of the training they have with their fighting style after trading numerous blows.
As well as blocking and parrying each other's blows they discover that they are evenly matched atleast in terms of fighting skills next they test who is more powerful by jumping away from each other they both charge mana orbs in their hands Gordon's orb is the size of a basketball Grey's orb is the size of a volleyball once they put enough mana into it they launch them at each other however no matter how much they try to overpower the other they are even in power and once it gets big enough and powerful enough the combined orb explodes taking both of them out.
The next match is Charmy VS Vanessa they start out the same as well by trading blows but there's a difference compared to the last match Vanessa is stronger and better skilled than Charmy but Charmy is faster so they almost even out next they have a mana battle they do the same as the last match they create mana orbs then launch them at each other however unlike the last match Vanessa over powers Charmy and knocks her out afterwards Vanessa passes out the next match is Gauche VS Magna.
They start out the same except that magna is much faster and stronger than Gauche who slacked off and did the bare minimum with his training just enough to pass after that they test their mana strength and surprisingly Gauche is more powerful as Magna mostly focused on the physical aspect of his training but like with Grey and Gordon they both get knocked out by the combined blast the next match is Zora Vs Finral Zora desimates Finral in hand to hand combat but when it comes to a mana showdown Finral surpasses Zora as he has been working the hardest of the Black Bulls to improve but it ends with a double knockout.
The final match is Luck VS Asta they both use their fighting skills to gauge the other and it turns out that they are evenly matched in everything including speed and strength in fact Luck and Asta agree that the other is by far the toughest opponent that the other has ever faced other than Yami of course however something changes that makes Asta's fight with luck even harder Luck starts using his lightning magic to coat his limbs to make himself faster it also makes him stronger after charging his muscles enough he charges Asta who just takes the barrage head on instead of trying to dodge it.
Asta uses his experience with animals to anticipate Luck's moves which works to his advantage but he still gets hurt and takes quite a few lightning enchanced blows but not without learning Luck's patteren after blocking all of Lucks hit and run attacks he now has Luck's patteren down and can win this fight after Luck makes a few more runs around Asta but moves faster than he did before but the patteren stays the same first he circles then he zigzags then he goes up above Asta then he speeds around the area to confuse him then finally he will either drop in front to the left to the right or behind for an attack after hitting and running duting all of this.
Luck thinks he can get the drop on Asta by increasing his speed but Asta can see the trail he is leaving as can the two captains the other Black bulls can't see it except Magna because they fight each other all of the time and Luck isn't going as fast as he can only about 30% of his speed but even at this speed Magna can barely keep track of Luck when Luck drops behind Asta he gets elbowed in the stomach and kicked in the face sending him flying several feet he wasn't expecting it plus he didn't know that Asta could hit that hard.
Luck says the hand to hand portion is over now it's time to see which of the two of us is more powerful Asta nods Luck charges a lightning ball as big as he can make it then launches it at Asta who responds by firing a fireball as big as he can make it then lets it collide with Luck's lightning ball the two energy balls collide and instanstly the two elements try to out do the other while trying to attack it's surroundings Yami and Mereoleona put up a barrier around the two so no one would get hurt.
Ten minutes pass by the two engery balls have been trying to over power the other but they are starting to become unstable Luck has never pushed his power this far before he's starting to run out of power Asta on the other hand isn't running out of power but the strain of maintaining this power struggle is becoming to be too much for him as his control over the fire element isn't all that great to begin with if not for the mana training he's been given he would have lost this power struggle after the first minute because his control is that poor.
Five minutes goes by and Asta has enough of this he just uses his vast energy to cancel out the attack but it doesn't work so he brings out his grimoire once he sees the attack coming for him and weirdly enough it absorbs the attack and he closes his book before he can see what happened but he felt his grimoire absorb all of that energy instead of letting it continue Yami calls the match a draw Asta nods then collapses Luck sighs in disappointment but knows that he couldn't have won that power struggle.
Once everyone is recovered they have them redo their matches but instead of seperating the hand to hand and magic they had them combine them into one fight the fights went the exact same except they got even more tired even faster they kept having them do their matches until they wouldn't get tired at all that took a month next thing that they learn is how to survive in different climates so they take them to a training dungeon that is nothing but climate change Mereoleona says this dungeon is divided into 5 categories desert rainforest arctic mountains and plains the plains is the most neutral out of all the climate and temperature changes so it will be the easiest to deal with it's also the one you all will be doing last next is the mountains the temperatures fluctuate depending on how high you go.
The lower on the mountain you are the warmer it is the higher you go the colder it is this the one you will be doing third they nod next is the rainforest all year round it's hot and humid except in one part of it and that's by any water sources other than that you will be miserable this is what you will be doing first next is the desert it's hot all year round and other than some caves a few ossasis it's hot year round but freezing at night this what you will be doing second next is the arctic it's a frozen wasteland it's cold all year round with no warmth in sight you will be doing this fourth.
Once you have completed all of these i will teach you all a very special mana technique that will help you survive in any enviornment then i will take you all to your final test after that Yami will take over your training for the rest of the year and Asta will belong to me mwahaha she laughs evily making everyone else get nervous and feel sorry for Asta so they head to the rainforest enviornment Asta asks both captains in this dungeon is it just climates or are we going to have to fight off any bugs or animals Yami says that's a good question kid no nothing will bother you except for the temperature and the enviornment.
Asta nods then heads into the rainforest he seperates himself away from everyone else he hides his presence and lets himself get lost in the rainforest enviornment so he can feel it's energy but he can't it keeps fluctuating and it's wave length keeps changing so he just lets nature guide him and he gets through the rainforest in 6 hours as does everyone else in fact they complete every enviornment in 30 hours after some food water and some rest for a couple days Yami and Mereoleona decide to teach them the mana skin.
At first they use the magic tool to cover them in the mana skin to get them use to how it feels then they teach them how to control it they tell them to channel their mana into the crest she put on them they do then create a shield around your bodies they do but everyone has created a dome which is fine with her next she tells them take that dome then thin it to only act as a barrier for your body like a second skin it takes them half a month to get it down and the other half to get it up to her standards.
next she takes them to the Ultime Volcano Mountain Trail for their final test she tells them use your mana skin to reach the top and you pass don't and you will restart your training from scratch she says you have 1 month to pass those that don't will restart their training along with those that passed if one fails you all fail with that they rush off to complete their final test going up the mountain alone is tough but the fact that it's also a volcano makes it even harder it takes everyone the entire month to complete the test.
the hardest part was the terrain the heat and adjusting the mana skin to the conditions of this place so you didn't get burned or get too hot after that once they said that training was over Asta disappeared he went to the climate dungeon and used mana skin on the four harder climates the others just went back with Yami to complete this it took him an entire month once he came out of it he saw Mereoleona there waiting for him he asks her how much trouble am i in she says no trouble at all but you could have told me what you were up to so i could have helped you.
Asta says no offence but i've been pretty much on my own as far as learning everything including how to read and write i'm pretty sure that i could have learned all of this from books and scrolls she says yes you could have but however mana skin won't be in any book at least for someone of your level it's only for those in the intermediate level magic knights or higher he says ok then i have a question if you're willing to answer.
She nods he asks is it possible to train not just mana but your element as well and is it possible to train yourself in more than one element she says yes to both but i would advise waiting until your mana control gets higher he nods then asks isit possible to learn techniques that are both offensive and defensive but will help you control your mana she yes it is but most of those either take alot of time to learn or take alot of power to use he says idk about you but i've got an abundance of both she smirks then says kid we will get along fine.
She says over the next 6 months i will teach you the techniques that you want but also teach you how to be strategic he nods she also says that i will do my best to help you control your fire as well atleast to a beginner level he nods then asks can we stay at the volcano place so we won't be spied on she nods then says over the course of your training i'll send you to various training dungeons to test your skills and improve your fighting skills he nods.
