Aimee's POV
I still can't sleep after the terrifying events that happened to Alpha Jacob three hours ago. The memory of it lingers, and for the past hour, the agonizing screams have finally stopped. Alpha Jacob's howls were truly a heart-wrenching mix of pain and despair.
"Aimee, are you still awake?"
Alpha Vincent's voice came from behind the door. I rose from my bed and opened it, letting him in.
"I figured you wouldn't be able to sleep. How are you feeling now?" he asked, his eyes full of concern.
I shrugged my shoulders softly. "How's Alpha Jacob now, Alpha Vincent?"
"He's calming himself, meditating," Alpha Vincent replied with a sigh. "It looks like we'll be stuck in this pack for a while. You need to be prepared and strong, Aimee. We'll resolve all of this, and you must leave here with the truth. Emily has to bear the consequences; you can't remain silent."
