Chereads / Who is My Mate? / Chapter 2 - 2. Daisy

Chapter 2 - 2. Daisy

Daisy is a 19-year-old girl. She's so beautiful and cheerful, there's no hint of sadness on her beautiful face. However, if you think she is a girl with all the luxuries and happiness, you are wrong. Daisy has no parents, both of them died in a Rogue attack and only Daisy survived.

That night when the Rogues attacked the three of them, a group of Wariors stood guard at the Red Moon Pack border and saved Daisy's life.

Daisy's suffering did not end there, she was also a Werewolf who could not change shifts. All of this made her shunned and oppressed by people. However, Daisy always smiles and tries to be happy. She never blamed fate, she thought Moon Godness was planning something more beautiful for her.

"Daisy."

Daisy smiled at Lucy who was sweeping the halls of the Palace. "You look so excited, Lucy."

"I should be excited because tomorrow is the installation of our new Alpha." Lucy rolled her eyes, making Daisy chuckle in amusement.

A faint smile rose on Daisy's tiny lips. That's right, tomorrow was the installation of the new Alpha. Asthon Halbert would take the throne in place of his father, Damarion Halbert. Would everyone find out tomorrow that Daisy was Asthon's Mate? Would everyone go back to blaspheming her like before after they found out who Daisy really was?

"No daydreaming in the morning!" scolded Lucy.

"Ah, I'm sorry. I'll see you then." Daisy waved her hand and waltzed away.

This morning Daisy is going to clean Asthon's room. It's been almost five years since she worked to clean Asthon's room. At first she was very reluctant and scared, but gradually Daisy got used to it and something surprised her when she was 16 years old. Daisy smelled a scent that was both intoxicating and fragrant. It was the smell of wood and leaves in spring that she could smell. Daisy concluded that it was mate.

Daisy wasn't the only one who felt that way. Clara, the wolf inside her also felt it and she seemed to want to get out of Daisy's body. But, unfortunately, that would not be possible.

The sound of the door being pushed broke the silence. Daisy closed the door again and was about to start her routine of cleaning Asthon's room. She really wanted to linger in this room, but Asthon would definitely get angry. He disliked Daisy and always refused to see her.

"He's not up yet," Daisy muttered, biting her lower lip.

'Just wake up the handsome man. Hurry up Daisy, I want to see his face up close,' Clara shouted excitedly from inside through the mindlink.

"I can't, Cla. He never liked me," Daisy refused. She wanted to turn around and get some other work done. However, the raspy sound of waking up stopped her in her tracks and made her body stiffen.

"Since when have you been standing there?" Asthon asked. He shook off the covers and stood up from the bed. His eyes were full of hatred for Daisy. For him, meeting Daisy was bad luck. Make a note of it!

"I'm going to clean your room," Daisy said in a low tone as she lowered her head not daring to look at Asthon's face, even though she desperately wanted to.

Asthon chuckled. "Why of all the Omegas should you be the one to set foot into my room? I'm so sick of looking at you and..." Asthon walked over to Daisy. "I'm sick of you having to be my destiny. I'm a future Alpha who was given power and a throne. While you... " Aston pointed at Daisy with his index finger. "Only an Omega and can't change shifts... Pathetic."

Asthon's words were hurtful, but not to Daisy. She had gotten all that from Asthon many times before.

The sound of the door closing loudly made Daisy jump in surprise. She rubbed her chest.

"You have to conquer his heart, Daisy." Clara spoke softly. She was easily offended and always held grudges with people around her. Unlike Daisy, who was strong and forgiving.

"I've tried, Cla. Maybe she needs time to accept our presence," Daisy replied through the mindlink.

Daisy sighed, Clara wasn't responding to her and it even looked like the wolf was cursing at her.

"Alright, time to get to work."

Asthon was still sleepy and wanted to sleep. He was too lazy to go back to sleep in his room and share a room with Daisy. No matter how long Asthon and Albert, his wolf, would never accept Daisy's presence. Asthon wanted a tough and strong Luna to be with him and lead the pack, not a weak and unknown woman.

Asthon opened the library, breathing in the distinctive scent of books. He was much calmer now than he had been breathing in Sakura's scent. I don't know, Asthon felt disgusted when he inhaled that scent. Maybe he was disgusted because Sakura's scent came from a weak woman.

"What are you doing here?"

"Abigail." Asthon smiled at the sight of a woman with curly hair and exotic skin. She was the most beautiful woman in this pack. Apart from being beautiful, Abigail was also knowledgeable and blessed with two inherent powers.

Abigail snorted, she pulled up a chair across from Asthon. "I asked you a question, Asthon."

Asthon's laughter broke out at the sight of Abigail's pursed lips. "I was calming down and getting away from someone," Asthon replied lazily.

Abigail's eyes squinted at Asthon suspiciously. "Are you causing trouble?"

"No."

"You usually never shy away from anyone." Abigail opened the first page of the book and read it with concentration.

Asthon looked at the curves of Abigail's face. The woman in front of him was perfect even more than perfect. Every night Asthon prayed to the Moon Goddess to make Abigail his mate, which was impossible and sounded ridiculous. However, Aston really wanted Abigail, she was beautiful, the only daughter of Beta Stephano.

"I don't like being stared at that intensely," Abigail said. She was still focused on reading the book.

"Do you already have a Mate?"

Abigail stopped her hand that was about to open the next page of the book. She looked at Asthon and developed a smile.

"I already have a Mate, he is a Schouts in the Red Moon Pack."

"Schouts? Are you kidding me?"

Abigail laughed, showing her rabbit teeth. "I'm not joking, Asthon."

"I think you'll get a Mate with a higher standing. Your father was a Beta and it's likely your mate is above your father."

"I have no problem with that." Abigail closed her book. "Looks like I have to go home soon because Mom will be looking for me. See you soon, Asthon."

Abigail left in a hurry, she felt it would not be good to linger around Asthon. Especially since he had talked about Mate. Abigail was not a stupid person, she knew that Asthon was interested in her. There are many rumors out there that Abigail is Asthon's Mate. The spread of the rumors made Jack-Mate Abigail, jealous and he even promised Abigail that someday he would try to become a Gamma.

The sound of falling objects and the sound of crying made people's attention centered on the incident. Abigail fell down and the books she was carrying were scattered. Meanwhile, Daisy was shocked by what had just happened. She looked at the vase and Abigail in turn. Daisy was afraid that the fragments from the vase might hurt Abigail.

"Miss, are you hurt?" Daisy asked frantically and tried to help Abigail up. However, Daisy's hand was roughly pushed away by Abigail.

"I'm fine." Abigail said in a cold tone. She didn't like her day turning unpleasant.

"What are you doing?!"

Daisy's heart raced at the loud voice from the front. She stared at Luna Felicia's favorite urn that had been broken into pieces.

"Arghh." Daisy groaned as her hair was grabbed with great force. Her gaze fell on the person pulling her hair.

"I didn't mean to. I'm sorry." Daisy pleaded to the four-headed woman with a stern look on her face.

Daisy was in so much pain, she held her head until darkness finally enveloped her.

"Mommy," Daisy called in a low voice.
