Daisy smiled brightly when her name was called by Asthon to come forward. Daisy's eyes lit up when she was next to Asthon.
She took a few breaths to get rid of the nerves that were eating away at her. Honestly, Daisy was very happy tonight. She was probably the happiest of all the girls. Daisy thought that Aston had accepted her. However, it turns out that what Daisy thought was very wrong.
Daisy saw Asthon suddenly raise his hand up. Then, he said so loudly, "I am Asthon Halbert, an Alpha of the Red Moon Pack..."
Daisy shook her head. She knew where Asthon was going with his words. She muttered the word 'no' several times.
"I reject you, Daisy Caroline as my mate!"
It broke Daisy's heart to hear Asthon say that. Her body felt so weak that she couldn't stand up anymore. She would have collapsed to the floor if no one had held her up.
A buzz of people filled the room. They were overjoyed that the Alpha's decision was the right one. Rejecting the weak and helpless Mate.
"So, that's your decision, Alpha," Daisy whispered. She looked at Asthon with disappointment. Her heart ached and hurt. Aston was truly cruel and had no good side.
Daisy was indeed a weak werewolf. She couldn't change shifts, couldn't even unleash her powers like a normal werewolf. However, she doesn't deserve to be treated like this by Asthon because after all, Daisy still has a heart. If Asthon doesn't want to accept Daisy, then he can reject her in a quiet place instead of a crowded place like this.
"Daisy," Lucy called. She held Daisy's shoulders gently. Lucy's eyes were fixed on Asthon. She hated that man with a passion. Why had the Moon Goddess destined her for a man like Asthon?
"Come on, let's get out of here!"
Lucy helped Daisy to walk. She wasn't going to let her best friend be made fun of by other werewolves just for being denied a mate. Lucy was sure that Daisy would be able to change shifts, it just wasn't time yet.
On her way out, Daisy bumped into Abigail. She looked so beautiful and elegant in what she was wearing tonight. It was a far cry from Daisy who was only wearing her worn-out omega clothes. It was like heaven and earth.
Does Daisy hate Abigail because she took Asthon away from her? The answer is absolutely not. Daisy doesn't hate Abigail, she's just self-aware of her position.
All werewolves want a strong and tough Luna, not a weak and shiftless Luna like herself.
"I'll make Abigail Luna for this pack."
That was Asthon's voice. Daisy turned to look back. She clearly saw Asthon's happy smile as Abigail approached him. Asthon also extended his hand and was greeted by Abigail shyly. Daisy had to admit, they really did look good together. Like the sun and the moon. Beautiful, but can't be together.
Meanwhile, the previous Alpha and Luna could only be stunned sitting in their oversized chairs. They did nothing to prevent Asthon's rejection. They were both silent as if they were watching a drama series. Daisy just smiled wryly and she turned back to resume her delayed steps.
While everyone was celebrating Alpha's appointment, there was a man sitting in the corner of the room. His pitch black eyes were just watching the situation. His face looked flat with an expressionless gaze. He was handsome, but silent and breathing like a living statue.
"He's not grateful for what the moon goddess gave him. I didn't expect an Alpha like him." He said in a deep, husky voice. His gaze never left Asthon.
Edward Carlo Dimitri, the man's name. He was an Alpha known for his cruelty and also the strongest Alpha as well as the owner of a fiefdom with prosperous people. He was the Alpha of Dark Moon Wolf Pack who was often nicknamed the Alpha of death, because every war the victory would be in Edward's hands.
However, behind perfection there must be flaws. Until now Edward still hasn't been able to find his Mate. He has tried to find it but never found a meeting point.
Seeing Asthon reject Daisy makes Edward swear and say that Asthon is really very stupid. He only saw her from the outside, not the inside. The moon goddess must have had a reason and a hidden secret to bring them together as mates.
"Alpha, would you like to congratulate them?" asked Beta Felix.
Edward grinned. He shook his head. "Later. I just don't want to mess with the new Alpha's happiness when he's already rejected that girl."
Felix just nodded. It wasn't just Edward who felt infuriated by Asthon's behavior, Felix also felt the same way. He was furious and angry with what Asthon had done.

Lucy didn't say a word. She was silent and could only rub Daisy's back. Daisy hadn't stopped shedding her tears for a long time.
"I want to leave here," Daisy said after a long time of crying. Daisy looked up at Lucy with eyes that were red and swollen.
Lucy was dumbfounded. She opened her mouth wide. "But, aren't you afraid that it's dangerous out there?"
Daisy shook her head. "I'm not afraid at all. I'd rather die out there than stay inside the iron bars of my grief," Daisy said.
This time Daisy was completely desperate. She had made up her mind that she was going to leave this place.
"Go, Lucy. You have to work. I don't want you to get scolded by the head maid," Daisy gently shooed her away. She changed her position to curl up with her back to Lucy.
Lucy sighed. She nodded and left Daisy alone in the dingy, dimly lit room.
"Clara. Are you still there?" Daisy asked telepathically.
'We need to get out of here, Daisy. Take me to leave because I really can't bear to be in the scope of these cruel people anymore,' Clara said.
Daisy felt her wolf was so weak. Usually Clara would encourage Daisy when she complained. However, this time Clara also gave up.
"I'll go but wait after we find an opening to escape."
'Daisy, I'm sorry. I'm not something you can rely on. In fact, I'm too weak to change shifts with you,' Clara lamented. She cried, wailing about her miserable fate.
"It's not your fault, Cla. It's our destiny to be like this. You have to be strong, you're my only strength right now."
Daisy got off the bed. She hobbled to the window. Staring out sadly. Tonight the sky was so dark that she could not enjoy the beauty of the stars.
The sound of people cheering and celebrating still sounded so clear to Daisy's ears. She also wanted to be at the party and enjoy every second of it. However, everything was just an illusion.
"There you are."
Daisy's body stiffened at the sound of a very unfamiliar male voice. She turned to look at the man.
"Who are you?" Daisy asked.
Instead of answering Daisy's question, the man smiled mysteriously. He walked closer to Daisy.
"Nice to meet you, Daisy."
