"Let's congratulate the new Alpha." Edward squinted his eyes at the two happy people. He muttered, cursing the clueless Alpha.
Felix raised one eyebrow, then chuckled softly. He knew that this time there would be a very emotionally draining show. Felix followed Edward's lead. Every now and then he would charm the women. Ah, the basis of this one creature is always looking for sensations. Even though Felix already had a Mate. In fact, he would be getting married in a few months.
"Congratulations to you, Alpha." Edward said in casual language. However, it did not diminish the tone of firmness in his voice.
Asthon developed his best smile. He hurriedly shook Edward's hand. It was truly remarkable that the Alpha of Dark Moon Pack wanted to visit here. Usually Edward was reluctant to attend events like this. He preferred to spend his time with a pile of work.
"I am very honored that you are here. Thank you, Alpha." Asthon said so sincerely. Ah, not sincere, more like proud. Yes, of course he was proud. This was the first time that the haughty Alpha had come to his investiture as an Alpha.
Edward cleared his throat. He grinned looking into both of Asthon's eyeballs. "This is the first time in history I've seen an Alpha reject his mate. You are very wise," Edward taunted. He glanced at Abigail. Giving her a sharp look.
Abigail was frightened by Edward's gaze. She lowered her head. Reluctant to make eye contact with the Alpha who had the nickname The Life Snatcher.
The nickname The Life Snatcher was very appropriate for Edward. He was the single craziest Alpha on the battlefield. His spirit always flared up when dealing with the enemy. He was the blood mad one.
"Think carefully about your mate's feelings. But, it feels like you don't have a heart," Edward said before he walked away.
Abigail tried to cover her ears. However, Edward's words kept ringing in her ears.
Asthon grasped Abigail's hand trying to calm her emotions. If only Edward wasn't the strongest Alpha on this continent, then Asthon would have finished him off long ago.
"I shouldn't have rejected that damn woman in public." Asthon unconsciously squeezed Abigail's hand, making Abigail grimace in pain.
"Sorry," Asthon said. He stroked Abigail's hand. Staring at the hand regretfully. Asthon rubbed Abigail's hand gently and soulfully.
"Asthon," Abigail whispered. Her head was still bowed. She was actually embarrassed. Ashamed of the Alpha Dark Moon Pack and also ashamed of betraying her mate. However, Abigail was determined not to let Asthon go. She would fight for him even though she had become a traitor.
"Yeah, what's wrong?" asked Asthon, still faithfully stroking Abigail's hand.
"Can we get out of here?"
Asthon looked at Abigail. He smiled sweetly. "Okay. I know you must be very tired."
Abigail just nodded. She followed Asthon's lead. Letting him put his arm around her waist protectively.
"Whatever happens, I beg you to never leave me."
"I will never leave you. You have my word."
"I will," Abigail said.
Abigail's attention was distracted. She saw a man standing there staring back at her. His eyes were filled with hurt, sadness and despair. It was as if there was no more life in those beautiful beads. The man felt like his world was collapsing.
'You betrayed him, Abi,' said Kate, Abigail's wolf.
'Forget it, Kate. We'll turn over a new leaf.
'But, I can't. We were created in pairs with mates.'
'We can do it, Kate!
'Whatever you want. I don't care.'
___oOo___
Edward walked through the Asthon residence. The omegas who passed him had to desperately keep their mouths shut to avoid screaming. It was not that Edward's face was frightening, but rather, Edward was too handsome despite the cold aura surrounding him. Ah, how lucky the maids were to be able to see Edward in person. The rumor that Edward was ugly was not true.
Edward took a deep breath, he opened the door located at the end of the palace. He looked pensively at the woman wearing a worn white dress crying. Her shoulders were shaking violently. She looked fragile and broken at the same time.
'Damn!'
Edward cursed inwardly. Somehow he wanted to hug her and comfort her. However, Edward held back. He couldn't do any of that because there was someone who needed Edward's embrace more.
"Who are you?!"
Edward was surprised, but, he returned to his haughty and cold expression. He smiled mysteriously as his bead met the woman on the other side. Indeed, the woman's bead was very beautiful. In fact, Edward had never found such beautiful eyes. Edward's footsteps approached her. He raised one eyebrow when she brandished a knife. Oh my, it's just a penknife. No kidding! Edward wouldn't die with that knife.
"Nice to meet you, Daisy."
Daisy stuttered as Edward stood towering over her. Edward's face was not clearly visible due to the poor lighting in the room. However, Daisy was sure that the man standing in front of her was handsome and haughty.
"Throw away the knife. I'm not going to die with that pathetic thing."
"Do you want to kill me? Are you the one the damn Alpha sent to eliminate me?" Daisy shouted. She threw the knife in a random direction. Both hands cupped her face. Another anguished cry was heard. It turned out that being the mate of an Alpha was not easy. This was too hard.
"Stupid, stubborn girl," Edward muttered. "Stop crying. You'd better get out of this damned place. Or you can stay in my Pack."
Edward turned to leave Daisy. Before he closed the door, Edward again said, "Go to the Dark Moon Pack. I'm sure you'll feel right at home there," he said, then waltzed away.
After Daisy was satisfied crying, she wiped her tears. Under these circumstances, no one had come to her. In fact, her best friend wasn't even here. Maybe Lucy was busy.
"Dark Moon Wolf Pack."
Daisy seemed familiar with the pack's name. She had heard it several times from omegas who liked to gossip.
"Oh, my God. I can't possibly go there," Daisy squealed. She shook her head. "If I go there then it's the same as delivering a life."
Dark Moon Wolf Pack is also known as the Pack of death and darkness. There were a lot of rumors that the pack was full of an aura of darkness. In fact, it was said there was no life. Other pack members are not allowed to enter Dark Moon.
"Ah, no. I might be even more tormented there, but, if here ...."
Daisy pondered a little. She changed her position to squat, folded her hands together and buried her face.
"Dad .... Mom. Where are you?" Daisy asked the darkness and loneliness that always shackled her. She always thought that if her parents were still around, maybe she wouldn't have this fate. Daisy also wanted to know which pack she came from.
"I hate being isolated and living in solitude. I also hate being rejected by my own destiny." Daisy's voice sounded hoarse. She bit her lower lip hard.
It didn't seem fair at all. While the rest of the pack was partying in glamorous outfits. However, she was only in the dim light.
"Someday, I will repay you!"
"Yes, you will, weak girl!"
Daisy jumped in surprise. She raised her head. Staring at a woman in a beautiful dress walking towards her.
"Luna," Daisy murmured. There was no fear in her eyes at all. In fact, Daisy looked at her with hatred. Her hands were clenched tightly into fists.
Felicia cleared her chest. She looked at Daisy with a scornful look in her eyes. Felicia waved her hand in her face.
"It's a good thing Asthon turned you down. I wouldn't want to have a son-in-law like you," Felicia said sarcastically. She chuckled softly, then said, "Oh, look at you. You're so pathetic. You should have died a long time ago, Daisy."
Daisy cringed in horror at the look in Felicia's eyes. Her body shook violently. The hatred that had been present earlier was now replaced with fear. Felicia's aura really dominated this room.
Felicia crouched down. She gripped Daisy's chin tightly. She didn't care if Daisy moaned in pain.
"You think I'm stupid? I've known for a long time that you were my son's mate. I was just waiting for the right time to get rid of you ...."
"Luna ...." Daisy called.
Felicia raised one eyebrow. "I'm very grateful to my son that he rejected you."
Daisy held both cheeks as Felicia released her grip.
"Guaaaards!"
Daisy rounded her eyes. She panicked as the guards entered her room and dragged Daisy roughly. This time her history was over. Daisy's cries of apology and forgiveness were ignored by Felicia.
'Daisy, maybe this is our destiny. We're both going to die in this damn prison,' Clara said resignedly.
'I'm sorry, Cla. I should have left this cursed place a long time ago.'
Clara shook her head. 'It's not your fault, but, it's all my fault. If I was able to switch shifts with you, then things wouldn't be like this.'
Daisy smiled. She felt her body crumple as she was thrown hard. Then the darkness came over her. In fact, before she was completely taken away by the darkness, Daisy still managed to say the name of that jerk.
"Asthon ...."
