I wipe the sweat off my forehead and release a sigh. I sit on the ground and look at the loot in front of me. The {Desert Fruit} works like a charm. I think I have been stabbing all the monsters, slamming their body into the barrier for six to seven hours, and boy, do my shoulders ache from the constant thrusting.
However, the results speak for themselves.
I get up, pick all the cards on the ground, and then bury the fruit under the sand to prevent the aroma from attracting more monsters. After picking all of them, I start to separate them into groups. There are only four types of monsters coming to the barrier. They are the Desert Worm, Sand Scorpion, Cactus Warrior, and Desert Golem.
Desert Worm is a one-meter tall and seven-meter-long worm that can swim in the sand. By the look of it, they are ambush monsters as they move silently while under the sand and can leap as high as ten meters above the ground. Its teeth are strong enough to shred a boulder. While its skin is not as tough as the other, it is still tough.
Sand Scorpion is a two-meter-tall and three-meter-long scorpion with a brownish exoskeleton that is tough but not as tough as Desert Golem's body. If not for Mikazuki, I could not pierce their armor. They attack using their claws and stinger. I don't know if the stinger has some venom, but a foul-looking green liquid comes out of it occasionally. I think it is the former rather than the latter.
Cactus Warrior is a humanoid creature made of cactus. It is three meters tall and holds a club made of hardened cactus. While these monsters are the weakest in terms of durability, they are the most dangerous if they fight face-to-face. The needles on its body and weapon will release some sort of liquid each time I hit one of them or when they hit the barrier with their clubs. It is a paralytic liquid that will paralyze the victim for a few seconds.
After a couple of minutes, I am done separating them all.
{Cactus Fruit} {Common}
{Paralytic Needles} {Common}
{Cooling Lotion} {Common}
{Clean Water} {Uncommon}
{Cactus Flower} {Uncommon}
{Cactus Warrior's Club} {Magic}
These are the things from the Cactus Warrior. The first one is food, which is great. The fruit is sweet with a small hint of sourness that gives a fresh taste. The second one is a resource-type drop because it is an ingredient to make an item or even a potion.
That is how I also learned that [Gaia's Lover] blessing is something even more powerful. Ingredients, building materials, and crafting materials are considered resource-type drops, which is great.
The third one is a lotion made of cactus flesh that I can use to cool my whole body for the entire day as long as I use it when I bathe in the morning. The fourth one is weird because I never thought of getting water from a cactus. I know that cacti had no water storage inside their body from which humans could drink. The fifth one is a potion ingredient. Sadly, the description did not say anything about what kind of potions this ingredient makes, but it is there. The last one is the weapon the monster uses. It can paralyze an opponent, and the stronger they are, the less chance they have of getting paralyzed, but it will never reach zero.
{Suspicious Hide} {Common}
{Hard Fang} {Common}
{Elastic Membrane} {Uncommon}
{Desert Worm's Magical Core} {Rare}
Only four things are coming from the Desert Worm. The first one is the hard and elastic skin of the worm. It is a material to create something called {Desert Ambusher Set}, an armor set that lets the user blend among the sand. The second one is also a material, but it is to create a weapon this time. I don't know what kind, and I don't really care. The third one is the same as the first one but can also be used to construct a building.
The last one is something that captures my attention. It is a consumption item. The description says it can increase my strength for each consumption, but it can only be eaten ten times. As expected of a rare item.
I tear ten of them and see a small orb appear on the ground. I take one of them and put it in my mouth. I blink a little when I feel the orb melt in my mouth, and it tastes bitter and sweet. Not bad. A second after I eat the orb, I can feel a rush of energy coursing through my body. It is not a huge boost, but I can still feel the change.
I take the rest of the orbs and feel my body get stronger. I walk toward the nearby boulder and punch it with all my strength.
*Boom*
I blink a little when I see a crack appear on the boulder. This is fantastic. It is a shame that I can only eat ten of them because I still have seven more of those things.
{Sand Scorpion's Carapace} {Common}
{Sand Scorpion's Claw} {Common}
{Sand Scorpion's Stinger} {Uncommon}
{Dark Sun Bow} {Magic}
The first to the third are materials to create equipment. The first is for armor called {Dark Sun Armor Set}, and the second and third are materials needed to create a rapier called {Dark Sun Rapier}. The scorpion only drops something related to equipment. It is great, but I need something I can use. I cannot make anything for now.
{Scroll of Sand Wall} {Uncommon}
This is the fourth type of loot I get from the Golem. It is a scroll that can summon a wall made of sand for a minute. It is not a very strong wall, but it is good enough to distract my enemy or use it to run away.
After thinking for a few seconds, I decided to open the shop and sell most of the cards in my inventory. By the end of it, I managed to get 2745 points from all the goods I sold to the market. I decided not to sell all the {Magic} grade items to see if I would need them in the future.
With these points in hand, I open the shop and see if I can buy something. After a few seconds of browsing the list, I found something I wanted.
{Dimensional Box} {2500 Points}
[A dimensional box one meter cubic in volume. The user can store any non-living being in this box. Once stored inside, the time in this box will stop unless the user opens it. As long as the user did not summon this box, the time will not move, keeping anything inside as if they are brand new.]
[Do you want to buy this?] [Y/N]
Without hesitation, I press the Y button, and a second later, I can feel something connect inside my head. I move my hand, and suddenly, a small box appears in front of me. The box is made of some kind of void energy.
I put my hand inside the box, and an image immediately appears inside me. I pick up all the cards and store them inside the box. The image from before changed a second later, and now I can see all the cards I put inside.
I nod and get up from the ground before looking at the trees in front of me. I need to chop some of the trees to start constructing some buildings from the system. I cannot wait to see what kind of thing I can summon from the {Summoning Gate} and also upgrade my shack.
I wonder if I can upgrade it into a castle.
