Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Start Building and Global Chat

Do you want to build a (Summoning Gate)? It will consume 5 Wood and 20 Stones

Build? Y/N

I press the Y button, and suddenly, a hologram of an Archway appears not too far away from my house. A few seconds later, the hologram transforms into a real Archway. I walk toward the new building and see a notification appear in front of me.

{Summoning Gate}

[This is a Summoning Gate where you can call upon the dead souls who failed to defend their land from the Devourer in the previous Purge. They swear to serve a new defender who is willing to take them. You are their master and will know if they are loyal or not.]

How much is it to summon one of them?

You can summon three souls into your territory every day. However, you can summon more souls using a summoning ticket from the shop or a monster drop

Right. I need more points, huh? I only have two hundred or so points in my pocket. I will save them for now.

Do you want to summon souls?

Y/N

I press the N button. I need to build their housing first and a farm in case I summon a farmer or something. I open the Territory Status and build housing for the people I will summon in the future.

Do you want to build a (Housing)? It will consume 5 Wood and 5 Stones

Build? Y/N

I press the Y button and see a small shack appear not too far away from the summoning gate. It looks like something that can only fit two or three people in there. I look at the system and see I can build four more houses for the current level.

I build two more houses and nod my head. I look at the list of buildings and press the farm option.

Do you want to build a (Farm)? It will consume 5 Wood and 2 Stones

Build? Y/N

I press Y, and the sand to the west of my house changes into a small farming land with a small house on the end of the land. While looking at the farmland, I notice that the farm is outside the barrier.

"This is a problem."

That means I need to make that wall, huh? However, with my current woods, I cannot build a wall around my territory just yet. I have already chopped almost all the trees in my territory, but it is still not enough to build the most basic wall.

I need more points to buy some tree seeds that can grow in the desert and buy something to make it grow faster. Lastly… I walk toward the shed near the farm with my sword in hand and check what is inside the shed.

I am seeing the basic tools for farming. However, unlike the tool used in modern times, it is made of wood.

Urgh. Another thing that I need to take care of, huh? I did not have any ox to help the farmer, and I knew farming with wooden tools would be hard. I will buy some steel or iron tools for them.

I want them to be loyal to me, and making their life easier will increase their loyalty.

That means I need to grind more. I wonder if I can catch something new from the other side of the barrier. Let's try that.

For now, I need to place some of my stones and water in the auction in exchange for wood. One card of pure water (10 liters of water each card) will cost them ten wood, and stone will cost them two wood.

I nod and walk toward the other side of the barrier. It is time for another wave of monster grind.

3rd POV

As William is busy with the monster slamming their body into the barrier around his territory, he does not see the people going into a frenzy when they see the water he put in the market.

~Water! Water! I need them!~

~Holy shit! Someone gets water as their drop?! Lucky!~

~I already bought one of them using all the wood I got from that damned tree monster. It is a drinkable water!~

~Really? Is it drinkable water? I need them! Whoever sent me to this world put me in the desert! Lucky for me, my blessing let me summon wood!~

~How many monsters did this bastard kill to get that many water cards?~

~He may have some kind of blessing that increases his Loot Drop~

~Lucky! I only get a blessing to summon ten sandwich cards every day. Lord of Golden Sand Oasis! Let me exchange some of your stones with my sandwiches! They are chicken sandwiches with vegetables and great sauce!~

~You are lucky! I only get a blessing that lets me never be fat! It might be useful on Earth, but here? I am lucky to have food for the next three days! Oi upstairs neighbor, exchange two of your sandwiches for one wood~

~Man! I just sold my wood for a bottle of water; here, someone is selling them for less wood and more water! Dammit! Lord of Golden Sand Oasis, wait for a day or two, and I will buy all your water!~

The Global Chat is full of activity as this is the first time they see someone putting this amount of goods into the auction house. To get these many kinds of goods is either a blessing that increases his loot drop or a blessing that lets him produce water and stone every day or something.

Either way, it is something that many people envy because of how useful it is to survive. A lot of people have already sent a message to him asking for help. Some of them tell him that they are coming from a rich family and they will pay him back when they return, some of them try to seduce him, and some of them beg him to help them.

Sadly for them, Willam is busy grinding and gathering more things for him to sell and use for his survival.
