One evening, Kelly and Daniel are hanging out in their dorm room, tossing a football back and forth.
Kelly: "Dude, I can't believe you actually wore that ridiculous watch to class today. You look like a walking billboard for 'I'm a rich kid'!"
Daniel: (laughing) "Hey, someone's got to represent the family name! And besides, it's not like I'm flaunting it. I just like nice things... and making you jealous!"
Kelly: (grinning) "Jealous? Of your tacky watch? Please. I'd rather wear a neon sign that says 'I'm a college student'!"
Daniel: (chuckling) "Well, at least my watch doesn't make me look like a refugee from a bad 80s music video!"
Kelly: ( mock-offended) "Hey, my neon shirt is retro-chic! And it's not like you're one to talk, Mr. 'I-wear-a-suit-to-class'!"
Daniel: (smirking) "Hey, someone's got to keep the standards high around here! And besides, you're just mad because your shirt is so bright, it's blinding!"
Kelly: (laughing) "Oh, burn! I guess I deserved that one!"
As they continue bantering, Sharon walks into the room, rolling her eyes good-naturedly.
Sharon: "You two are something else. Can't you just have a normal conversation for once?"
Kelly: (grinning) "Where's the fun in that? We're just keeping the art of playful insults alive!"
Daniel: (smiling) "Besides, Sharon, you know we're just joking. We're not actually trying to hurt each other's feelings... most of the time, anyway!"
Sharon: (laughing) "I know, I know. Just keep it down to a dull roar, okay?"
As they settle in for a study session, Kelly whispers to Daniel.
Kelly: "Hey, don't worry, man. I'll make sure to keep the jokes coming. And who knows, maybe one day you'll even learn to take a joke as well as you dish them out!"
Daniel: (smirking) "Oh, I can take it. I'm just waiting for the day you finally run out of material!"
