"What did you say?" The witch further squeezed Florah's face questioning her.
All of a sudden, a crow flew by super fast, it's wing lightly grazing the witch's cheek.
"What was that?" Almo asked his friend.
"What do you mean?" Rando asked back confused.
"Something just cut me". He turned his cut cheek to show his friend.
"I didn't see anything" Rando replied
Right when they were wondering what had just happened, a number of crows flew over the forest cawing loudly in the quiet night.
"What is happening?" Almo wondered letting go of the equally confused Florah.
Countless crows flew above them cawing and cawing endlessly. "IS THIS YOUR DOING?" Almo angrily yelled at the tied up girl.
Florah shook her head vigorously in return denying any part of what was happening to be her fault.
After a moment of silence passed, the crows stopped cawing from above and the sound started coming from within the forest.
The two witches glanced here and there wondering who was playing with them.
"Show yourself!!!" Rando yelled conjuring a ball of fire in his left palm.
'CAW' A crow cried on his left, 'SWOOSH' he threw the ball of fire to the place where he had heard the sound, only for the fire to be extinguished before it could reach the place.
The two witches grew anxious, moving closer to eachother. They stood back to back with Rando conjuring two balls of fire in both his palms. Almo grew black vines starting from his elbows, going down his arms that whipped when he moved his wrists.
"Come out Coward!!!" Almo shouted into the night calling whoever was messing with them.
The next moment, two crows flew from opposite sides. Almo launched his vine at the crow that tried to attack him, slicing it. What surprised him was that the crow that was supposed to fall dead in two pieces only turned into ash, which disappeared before touching the ground. The same happened to Rando when he threw a blazing fire ball that burnt the crow.
The two glanced at eachother in confusion of what was to happen next.
In the blink of an eye, four crows attacked them from all sides. The two witches tried conjuring spells and using there weapons but all didn't work.
The four crows were faster and sharper, there dark feathers blended well with the night.
Disappearing and reappearing to scratch the witches' bodies.
In frustration, Rando shouted "GET DOWN LET ME ROAST THESE DAMN BIRDS!!!".
Putting his hands together, he muttered a spell under his breath. Realising his hands, Almo quickly lay on the ground, for a fire wave to erupt covering the area where they were, blowing up whatever was alive in its wake.
The witches were too occupied to notice that the fire wave reached Florah but it did not affect her at all,
Instead it burnt parts of her dress and the pieces of cloth that tied her to the tree.
Florah felt that the pieces of cloth that bind her to the tree loosened. Pulling and wiggling her arms, she a heard a tear. Nervously glancing at her occupied captors that she had just found out were witches.
They seemed to have forgotten about her momentarily.
Using this chance, she pulled her arms harder and to her joy, one of her hands came free.
She felt like crying tears of joy, because in the midst of all the mayhem. There was still hope for her.
Before Florah could fully celebrate her triumph, numerous crows flew in all directions attacking the witches.
Florah gawked at the flocks of crows that poked and scratched the witches. Pulling harder at her arm that was still tied up, she was startled when about four crows assembled at her front, looking at her with there blank dark eyes.
For a moment, Florah stiffened wondering if they were going to attack her as well.
To her bewilderment, two crows went behind her. The two birds poked and scratched the cloth that was tied to her waist and arm.
Soon enough, Florah was free from the tree.
She looked around baffled by what had just happened.
The crows just looked at her like they were waiting for her to do something.
Florah nervously searched around, picking out the small details about the place where she stood.
Noticing the short shrub that she remembered, 'That is where Jer found the rabbit'.
She thought happily, remembering the route they used back home. 'The witches must have by passed my house on there way to the forest'. She thought
While she was still thinking, the crows that were attacking the witches flew away all at once.
Hiding behind a big tree nearby, she peeped to see her captors disheveled filled with bloody scratches on there faces and arms.
"COME OUT COWARD. STOP HIDING BEHIND STUPID BIRDS!!!!". Almo shouted calling upon there opponent.
"Almo, the stupid girl escaped" Rando whispered to his companion, eyes focused on the empty tree where Florah was supposed to be tied up.
"Whattt!!" Almo whispered back in frustration.
Before the two could think of something else, a tall man emerged from the shadows.
"You know for such old age, I thought you might actually put up a fight. But there you are standing with scratches from just a couple of birds. Such pathetic creatures". The disguised Gavriel mocked the witches.
"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU!!!!" Almo yelled angrily, spiked by the man's mockery.
"Sssshhhhh language, we have kids here". Gavriel said pointing at the tree where Florah was peeping from.
