Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: New Spider Web Launcher

Peter was stunned at first, finding it a little unbelievable.

It had been over a month since he obtained his spider abilities, and he had also made his own web shooters and synthesized his own webbing for more than half a month. But he had only been able to shoot the webbing back and forth in a basic way.

The new webs and web bombs were learned and made after going to the world of the Noir Spider-Man.

And even the Noir Spider-Man only knew a few ways of shooting webs.

But now, the suit given to him by Iron Man actually had 576 scientifically designed web combo moves compiled for him?

How could this be possible?

Was this for real?

It felt like this was negating all his efforts over the past month!

However, when Peter took a closer look at the things listed in the training course, there were long rows of names, and not a single one was repeated.

Things like "web grenades", "taser webs", "web bursts", "bouncing webs", "web parachutes" and the like.

In the end, he reluctantly discovered two facts:

First, the web shooter he had worked so hard on had been made obsolete!

Second, you really do have to believe in science!

Although Iron Man didn't use webbing as one of his main offensive methods, these scientific web shooting techniques that he had analyzed through scientific means were indeed incredibly useful.

For example, the bouncing web was a kind of delayed webbing bomb that wouldn't explode immediately upon being launched due to the addition of some special processes.

If an enemy was hiding behind a wall, Peter could directly launch the bouncing web at a simple angle to knock them down!

There was also a web grenade, which was a special webbing bomb that contained a large ball of web fluid. After being thrown, it would instantly turn into a huge web trap.

This instant web-forming technique could also be applied in many situations.

For instance, when he used to deal with unruly drunk drivers on the street, when their vehicle lost control, he always had to use his own strength to hold the vehicle to prevent it from hitting people.

But in reality, it was difficult to stop it completely, and it often caused unnecessary damage.

Although he didn't have to pay for the damage himself, since he chose to help, of course he wanted to do it perfectly!

At times like that, if he had such web grenades, a large web could be instantly condensed, netting the out-of-control car in midair.

This would give him plenty of time to carefully "handle" the car.

The various other web shooting techniques each had their own uses as well.

Even if he didn't study the tutorial himself, Peter could understand something about them just by looking at the names and descriptions.

Then, Peter briefly reviewed the other contents of the training protocol.

Some were disabled, telling him that he needed to reach a certain training level before they could be unlocked.

But just those that weren't locked made him feel he had gained a lot of new abilities.

Only then did Peter become somewhat aware of the preciousness of this suit.

Its materials, texture and artificial intelligence were just one aspect. The knowledge carefully compiled within it was, in Peter's view, no less valuable than that!

"Mr. Stark..." Peter didn't know why Iron Man was so kind to him, but he knew that he must remember this kindness!

Even if it was just for a "transaction", casually making a portion to get rid of him was completely different from making a portion with the utmost care and giving it to him!

With gratitude towards Iron Man, Peter started "jumping around" in the room again.

Thwip!

Thwip!

Thwip!

Thud thud thud!

There was a knock at the door.

Peter flipped over flexibly and looked outside through the peephole. No one was there.

Huh?

Thud thud thud!

There were a few more knocks on the door, and then it opened.

Oh, it turned out to be the connecting door inside the room.

The person who walked in was Happy.

He had almost forgotten that his room and Happy's room were connected.

Happy looked at Peter, who was wearing his Spider-Suit, expressionlessly, and glanced at the dense webbing covering the ceiling, corners and other places: "Are you planning to turn this place into a spider cave? You are Spider-Man, not a literal spider. Weirdo."

Peter scratched his head, a little embarrassed.

Discovering so many interesting new abilities made him get a little too excited for a while, and he forgot all about it.

He was in a hotel now. If the housekeeping staff discovered the webbing in this room, wouldn't his identity be exposed?

Fortunately, Happy noticed his embarrassment and said: "Now, stop immediately. If you want to test the suit, wait until you get back home. I'll keep this room for another day and wait for the professionals to clean up the traces before checking out."

"Thank you, thank you," Peter breathed a sigh of relief and thanked him repeatedly.

He didn't want to reveal his identity just yet.

It didn't matter if his true identity was known to superheroes like Iron Man and Ant-Man.

After all, they were all the same kind of people.

When they had nothing to do, they wouldn't interfere with each other's lives.

But if ordinary people knew about it, it would be troublesome.

He had already experienced this in the world of the Noir Spider-Man.

In that world, the true identity of the Noir Spider-Man wasn't even exposed, but because Ben Urich had a close relationship with Peter during his lifetime, danger befell Peter and his Aunt May.

If Peter hadn't gained spider powers, or if Peter hadn't reacted and returned a step later, Aunt May would have followed in Uncle Ben's footsteps and been poisoned by the Vulture!

He definitely didn't want to bring these kinds of threats to his Aunt May!

After Happy warned him, he returned to his own room.

Peter could only lie on the bed bored.

Before he knew it, he fell asleep.

He had a long dream.

In his dream, he saw countless Spider-Men.

There was a burly Spider-Man wearing a black suit, a slender Spider-Man wearing a white suit, a Spider-Man wearing a steampunk-style exoskeleton, and even a Spider-Ham with a pig snout.

Finally, he seemed to see a huge spider web, with a figure sitting in it.

The night passed quickly.

Peter didn't wait for Iron Man's arrival.

The next morning, Happy received the news from Iron Man, and then took Peter back to New York City on the private plane they came from.

It was said that Iron Man went to Siberia and had a fight with Captain America and the Winter Soldier. It seemed to be a tragic battle full of personal grievances.

He didn't see Iron Man again until he got off the plane in New York City.

But Iron Man did not elaborate on the specific circumstances behind it.

Peter could only vaguely guess from the somber mood Iron Man occasionally exuded.

Iron Man also made no follow-up arrangements for him.

Although his performance in this incident was remarkable, Iron Man probably took into account his studies and did not want him to invest too much energy into his superhero "career"—if this could really be called a career.

Anyway, on the way back in the car, Iron Man kept emphasizing to Peter that he should study hard and think less about being Spider-Man and more about his normal life.

In this regard, Peter could only respond with awkward "ums" and "ahs" in a perfunctory manner.
