Chapter 21 - Passing Out

"What is that?" Emma asked Darla.

"Do you do females?" Darla inquired.

"Females?" She stared at Darla as the realization hit her as the other nodded her head in confirmation

"Hell no, I am very straight." Emma stated, firmly.

"Why will you ask that out of the blues? What does my sexual preference have to do with what we are discussing?" She was surprised.

"A lot!" Darla maintained.

"Huh?" Emma asked.

"Lioness does both genders. But since we are here and she has no access to males, she does females mostly." Darla revealed to Emma.

"Holy cow!" Emma exclaimed.

"So, you expect me to ..." Emma trailed off as she was disgusted.

"Why not? With that, you can have the Lioness wrapped around your little finger!" Darla said.

"No, I can't! I can't even bring myself to do that!" Emma refused fervently.

"Okay. The ball is in your court." Darla stated as she stood up and left her to her thoughts.

"Huh! Will I be able to survive here?" Emma thought and sighed deeply.

"I hope I don't have any unpleasant surprise waiting for me! I don't have the strength to handle trouble right now! God, please!" Emma thought and prayed as she walked to her room after the day's work.

"Oh, he is in? Doesn't he have somewhere else to be by this time?" Emma thought as she saw her roommate. She held the doorknob and wanted to go back to where she was coming from but she knew the other place wasn't any better.

"Hun!" She sighed and closed the door behind her.

Daniel was seated on his bed, staring into space with a stoic expression, as usual.

"I wonder how comfortable he is, staring like that, endlessly." Despite her condition, Emma couldn't help but wondered about Daniel's behavior.

"Well, I should just mind my business and not do anything to make him snap." Emma thought and faced her corner.

"Oh, fuck!" She groaned in pain as she sat on her bed, weakly.

"I should get better after relaxing for a while, right?" She muttered to herself. She laid on the bed and drifted off to the dreamland. Few minutes later, she was awake and started writhing in pain. She had become worse.

"Hunnnnmmm!" She groaned.

"Now, I am even feeling feverish. So good! Who do I call upon?" She wondered sadly.

"Let me get up and inform a guard, maybe they can take me to the clinic!" She concluded and stood up, but her legs wobbled and she fell to the floor.

"Ouch..." She exclaimed tiredly and was slowly becoming unconscious.

"Hey, Emma! Can you hear me? Open your eyes!!!" Faintly, she heard Daniel's voice said to her.

"Stay with me!" She heard him said again.

"It is just a dream!" Emma thought firmly as she passed out.

"Urgh! My damn luck!" Williams lamented grumpily as he alighted from his car and walked into his house.

"Now, what do I do? Will it ever end?" He sighed.

"I thought I was done dealing with that ugly incident!" He grunted and sighed again.

"Really?" Williams huffed as he laid his eyes on his wife. Lilian was eating, unbothered, at the dinning room.

"Hello, dear. I didn't know you would come back early. How was your day?" Lilian inquired as she saw him walked in but didn't stop eating.

"Didn't you say you would stay with Caroline at the hospital?" Williams asked her.

"Yes, I did. I was really craving home food, so I decided to come home briefly and eat. I am going back after eating." She explained to him.

"Of course, you would come home all the way from the hospital just to eat! That's what you are very good at." Williams stated, grumpily.

"Why are you being irritable now? We spoke on phone in the morning and you were okay! What happened after we spoke?" She inquired.

"May you and your daughter not be the death of me!" He spat out.

"Hmm, you are at it, again! I wonder what has riled you up this time around. Well, I am sure you will get better after eating. Come and have a seat, let me call a maid to serve you." His wife said.

"Do you think food solves every problem for everybody, like it does for you? Everybody is not a glutton, woman!" Williams replied and hissed.

"Don't insult me please. If you don't want to eat, then don't! No one is forcing you." Lilian retorted and continued eating.

"And you are still eating? Are you supposed to have appetite right now?" He snapped at her.

"Why won't I? I asked you what happened, you refused to say it, what should I do then?" She snapped back at him.

"Fine! I will tell you." He agreed and sat down opposite her.

"I am all ears... " She said.

"What we thought we have handled and covered up, has loose ends!" He informed her.

"Explain in details, so I can understand." She requested.

"I was at the office, still celebrating my breakthrough when one obnoxious young man walked into my office." He began.

"Okay... "

"He said he was at the accident scene and watched everything happened from the beginning to the end." He stated.

"What?" That information made Lilian lost her appetite immediately and the cutleries in her hand dropped to the table.

"And you know what the unsavory guy said? He wants money to keep his mouth shut. He even mentioned the amount! A huge amount of money that can get a new exotic car and build a house! Very ridiculous!" Williams informed his wife.

"Uh-oh, he is really gutsy!" Lilian scowled.

"He wants the money before the end of this week or he will go spill everything to the media." Williams explained further.

"What do we do now? I am just trying to pay off my debts with the money I got from that unknown investor, now this?" Williams was frustrated.

"Don't get worked up. There's a way out." Lilian informed her husband, with a smirk.

"What is that?" He inquired. Lilian stood up and

went to whisper into his ear.

"What? That is really ..."
