~Confessions~
Truly, Neriah doesn't have a say, especially when it's a matter relating to marriage. Though she can't deny she had feelings for Neptune, but she wasn't expecting it to come this way. And by mere looking, Neptune isn't joking with his request. He looked so serious.
When the Queen asked for his opinion, she completely lost her tongue.
"Say something, Ne-riah" Dionysios smirked mischievously, drawing her name.
"Your Grace, it'll be better if you give the princess some time to think. The Inquisition is unexpected to her" Niamh chipped in with a bow.
Queen Diantha nodded in agreement. "Right Neptune, let's wait to hear from Neriah"
"I'll take my leave, Your Grace" Niamh bowed.
"Come to my Manor at noon, dear Neev" Queen Diantha stated.
"Sure, Your majesty" Niamh beamed before she left.
Outsider the court, Neriah called out Niamh's name when she sighted her standing in the courtyard.
"Your Grace" Neev bowed.
"Oh please. I told you to call me Neriah" Neriah complained, whining while Niamh only smiled.
"But that would be disrespectful, Your Highness" she protested calmly.
"No! Never! Call me Neriah or I'll stop seeing you" Neriah stated with a frown.
"It hasn't gotten to that, princess Neriah"
Neriah breathed out softly, hearing Neev's reply. She shrugged.
"Thank you Neev, for helping me in there. Truly, I was confused" Neriah stated, patting her back.
Niamh turned to her and smiled. "It's my pleasure. Thank you too for saving me. And also, don't be confused. All you need to do is to think for a while" Niamh said
"But seriously, what do you think I should do?" Neriah asked, looking confused and helpless. Niamh averted her gaze to space and sighed.
"It's up to you. It depends if you have feelings for Lord Neptune"
"I do have feelings for him but, why did he suddenly request for marriage? He'd never confessed his feelings to me" Neriah complained, pouting like a kid.
"I don't see his fault. He was trying to prove to you how truly he loves you" Niamh replied. Though she'd never been in a relationship, she's not too naive to be ignorant about what love is.
"Is that it?" Neriah asked and Niamh nodded.
"But Neev, have you ever been in a relationship?" Neriah suddenly asked and then, Lansel's image flashed in Niamh's mind. Her heart skipped a beat. She'd never been in love with anyone but now, She can't deny that she has feelings for Lansel.
Though she doesn't know what the future holds, the probability of her and Lansel being together is low. But still, it's not bad to love Lansel for herself without letting anyone know. If she ended up with him, wonderful! If she didn't...
Neriah called Niamh's attention when she didn't hear her say anything. Almost immediately, Neptune approached them.
"If you'll excuse me, Your Grace" Niamh bowed and left.
Neriah stood there, fiddling her fingers not knowing what to say.
"You don't have anything to say to me?" Neptune asked softly.
Neriah looked up at him, her ocean blue eyes boring into his aquamarine ones and then, she shook her head.
"I apologise it has to come this way. I just wanted to be with you, Neriah. I want you to be my water goddess for I love you with all my heart. Affections ad emotions flow through the tides of my edible heart and I couldn't help but to admire this beautiful flower" he confessed with the mildest voice ever heard.
His voice alone acted as a symphony to make her heartbeat accelerate. Neriah gaped at his sudden confession. For some moments, she was tongue-tied.
"Neriah" he called out her name more religiously as if he was reading aloud a sweet poetry.
Neriah was utterly speechless, her tongue felt too heavy to speak and slowly, she hugged him, resting her head on his chiseled chest.
"I will assume you accepted my confession" Neptune stated while she nodded cutely. Neptune's heart exploded in happiness as he hugged her more tightly.
"Yes, I love you too, sea god"
