Sheila walked through the amusement park while trying to hide the excitement she felt inside.
Her eyes scanned the different attractions, each more impressive and modern than the last.
The energy of the place was contagious; the screams of excitement, the children's laughter, and the constant sound of the machines contributed to a lively and vibrant atmosphere.
'Incredible,' she thought, observing the imposing roller coaster that rose before her.
The cars ascended slowly, taking the passengers to the top before dropping them into a dizzying spiral of screams.
"What? Did the way they have fun catch your attention?" Benjamin asked mockingly, to which Sheila frowned.
Even though they had been walking around the park for several minutes, Benjamin didn't take the initiative in anything.
A part of Sheila expected him to suggest or recommend something based on how he had behaved before, but...
Nothing!
He wasn't doing anything!
Benjamin just walked next to Sheila, even though coming to this park had been his idea.
Was it so hard for him to suggest doing something?
Where had his spontaneity gone?
Sheila was starting to feel irritated, while Benjamin simply looked around quite calmly.
Checking her new cell phone, Sheila turned airplane mode on and off several times, but nothing, she had no signal.
Letting out a sigh, Sheila decided to take the initiative.
"What if we go on that ride?" Sheila asked while pointing to an attraction where gigantic tea cups spun on a platform.
Each cup had a wheel in the center that allowed the passengers to control the speed of the spin. Benjamin shrugged indifferently and replied:
"Sure, you can go if you want."
Sheila, thinking it was an affirmative answer, was about to smile as she approached to grab his hand, but immediately a part of her realized Benjamin's underlying message.
'You can go if you want. The "you" is singular, so he didn't include himself and finished by telling me to go if I want...' Sheila thought silently while clenching one of her hands.
What had gotten into Benjamin?
"Fine. I'll go," Sheila said as she turned around to head towards that attraction. 'Calm down. Maybe he received some message that upset him. Just... let's enjoy,' Sheila thought as she moved forward.
The attraction was a kaleidoscope of bright colors. The tea cups, decorated with intricate floral patterns, spun and spun, while the laughter of the occupants echoed in the air.
Sheila approached the line, ready to get into one of the cups by herself, when she noticed something out of place.
A little girl, standing near one of the cups, had her hand firmly pressed against her chest.
Her face was pale, and her eyes showed a glimmer of panic.
Sheila immediately recognized that something was wrong.
Before she could get on the ride, the girl dropped to her knees on the ground, drawing the attention of the park staff, who quickly approached.
"Quick, call a doctor!" shouted one of the employees while others tried to keep the visitors calm.
The girl seemed to be having an attack, possibly a panic attack or something more serious.
Sheila quickly approached the girl, noticing that her symptoms were similar to those of the elderly woman at the hotel.
Without thinking twice, she took her small case of golden needles from her bag.
"Let me through, I'm a doctor!" Sheila exclaimed, but the staff was wary.
"What are you doing? That could hurt her!" exclaimed one of the employees, looking suspiciously at the golden needles.
At that moment, Benjamin approached, noticing the commotion and was surprised to see Sophia alone in this place. Noticing how the staff was stopping Sheila, he didn't hesitate to intervene.
"What are you doing? Let her work!" Benjamin said firmly.
Seeing that the staff still didn't back off, he told them:
"She is her doctor, are you going to take responsibility if something happens to her while waiting for your staff's help?"
The staff, although skeptical, decided to step aside.
The onlookers who had stayed to watch the scene began to murmur, some worried, others simply curious.
"How can they let her use that?"
"Is that girl really the girl's doctor?"
"Where is that girl's guardian?"
Sheila knelt beside the girl and began to insert the needles in specific points, trying to stabilize her condition.
"Calm down, this will help you," Sheila said calmly, focusing on her task.
The girl's breathing began to stabilize, and Sheila could see the color slowly returning to her face.
"Do you feel better?" Sheila asked, watching the girl closely.
The girl nodded weakly with eyes full of gratitude.
"Yes, much better. Thank you very much, miss," she whispered with a trembling but relieved voice.
Sheila smiled, satisfied to have been able to help.
"You're welcome. But you must go to a doctor for a full check-up. What I did is just a temporary relief, remember to tell your parents that," Sheila advised.
Everyone, including the staff, couldn't believe what had happened in front of them.
Had she really helped that girl with those needles?
Sophia, noticing her surroundings, saw that Benjamin was watching her with eyes that clearly showed he was not happy.
"Hello, Benjamin..." Sophia said nervously.
"Who did you come with?" Sophia looked away and decided to remain silent.
'This girl escaped her classes again...' Benjamin thought as he touched his forehead.
"Treit, is she okay?"
"Yes. I fixed it for now, but she needs to go to a medical appointment," Sheila replied dryly, but the truth was that she was curious to know how Benjamin knew this girl, who for some reason seemed familiar to Sheila.
"She is the sister of someone you already know," Benjamin responded instantly, and remembering that he had let slip more information, he decided to maintain his facade of still being upset with Sophia.
'Someone I already know?' Sheila repeated puzzled, as it had not even been two days since she had arrived in this country, so the options were few.
