Chapter 31 - Limelight. [6]

Kim Yeon-Hee was kneeling in front of the woman's dead body resting inside an unzipped body bag while the other detectives were questioning the people present and re-watching the CCTV footage of the store.

She sighed and turned to face Dae-Bom who was walking back into the room after finishing questioning the attendant about her whereabouts when the murder occurred.

"What happened?" Yeon-Hee asked Dae-Bom.

"She said that the woman got a call from someone before she chased her out and could hear her swearing loudly before she went to the restroom for around 7 to 10 minutes before she came back and found her lying against the broken mirror."

She sighed and nodded as she turned, facing the dead woman inside the unzipped body bag.

She lifted the woman's left hand up with her light blue latex gloved hand as she observed the cut on the palm, finding another cut on the right palm.

'Defence wounds.' Yeon-Hee thought as she then observed the stab wounds on the dead bodies stomach, noticing that they were tilted diagonally to the right.

'So he's left handed… Let's stop here and go see if they found anything on the camera footage before I determine what happened.' Yeon-Hee stood up before stopping to stare at the woman's solemn face with dried blood streaming down her cheeks from the empty eye sockets where the red spider-lilies had been as they were taken for analysis, leaving two empty and damaged holes.

'A sad way to die.' Yeon-Hee turned and walked out of the room as the woman's body was zipped up and carried out of the room by men in white.

She and Dae-Bom arrived at the security room and entered to find Kang In-Hyuk and two other detectives scrolling through today's footage as they finally found something.

"Right there! Stop and replay it." Kang In-Hyuk pointed at the fourth screen ontop as Yeon-Hee walked beside him and watched the footage replay.

On the fourth screen which showed the entrance to the store, a figure in all black wearing a black motorcycle helmet with the eye shield covering his face as he was carrying a silver delivery bag.

"A delivery man?" Dae-Bom asked as Kang In-Hyuk told the detective to pause the footage.

"X-press Chicken." Yeon-Hee read the logo on the delivery bag before she turned to Dae-Bom.

"Find this restaurant and ask them to identify the delivery man." Yeon-Hee said to Dae-Bom who nodded and quickly left the room while searching for the restaurant on his phone.

The footage was replayed as it showed the man inquiring something at the receptionist before walking straight to the room the woman had been in.

"There's no cameras inside the changing rooms." The officer said as they all went silent.

'The killer most likely followed her to the store before he came in and attacked her with a knife. She had self defence wounds on her palms which meant that the initial attack failed which gave her the chance to resist and escape. But the killer grabbed the woman and threw her into the mirror? Most likely, yes, before he proceeded to stab her multiple times in the stomach and eyes where he put the flowers in her empty eye sockets. This killer is extremely brutal, even more than

'Dr. Marionette'-Why am I thinking about that killer! Focus!...' Yeon-Hee said inwardly as she thought of another issue related to the previous murder.

"We still don't know what their crimes are." Yeon-Hee mumbled as everyone turned to face her, releasing the issue as well.

"The first three victim's crimes were easily revealed, but these two victims murdered on the same day are most likely not ex-convicts like the previous three." Kang In-Hyuk said his take on the issue before he added "Find out this victims relationship with the previous one, their crimes are most likely related to each other." He said to the one sitting on the chair as he stood up and left the room.

'Now let's figure this out before the news articles post about it agai- wait? The photos were sent with the victims phones… Phones!'

"Her phone? Was her cell phone still in that room?" Yeon-Hee asked as the detectives left the room and went to check before coming back to them with a negative answer which made everyone sigh dejectedly.

"Ah, dammit… Call Choi Hyun-Woo quickly and tell him not to release those photos." Kang In-Hyuk said to Jae-Sik as he left the room.

"Let's investigate the two victims' past to see if we can get anything. I have a feeling it's not over yet." Yeon-Hee said as she left the room as well.

Inside one of the upper penthouses with a beautiful cloudy view of the city below.

A young man with ginger hair was walking out of his room with a worried look on his face. He wore a long dark navy coat over a navy sweater with black trousers as he walked downstairs.

"Am I being too paranoid?" He asked himself after remembering Jang Sara's harsh words.

'Grow a pair… Ah, that ungrateful b*tch. I was the one who got her out of that mess.'

He looked at his phone while nibbling on the nail of his thumb, as he walked towards the long table where a maid was setting up breakfast.

"We don't use our phones when we're eating." The young man's father who wore a black suit that matched his stern look said as he sat down at the table.

"Yes, father." The young man replied when he suddenly received a message from Sara who had swore him less than an hour ago.

He quickly opened the chat and looked at the picture that made him gasp loudly and throw his phone on the table!

"What happened?" The young man's mother asked as his father picked up the phone and looked at the picture his son received.

The father's face contorted into an expression of disgust as the mother walked over and saw the picture which made her produce a short shriek as she covered her mouth!

The picture on the phone was of Jang Sara slumped dead on a broken mirror with knife wounds on her stomach that stained her white dress as her eyes had been gouged out and replaced with red spider-lilies!

There was a following text message at the bottom written; "You're next."
