The sun was about to set as Yeon-Hee and Dae-Bom were inside a car, driving through an empty street.
"But it doesn't make sense. Why would he kill 3 unrelated people instead of the one's involved in his daughter's case? Maybe to make the next 3 kills garner more attention?" Dae-Bom asked Yeon-Hee as they drove her car to the written address of Park Jae-Min.
"I don't and that doesn't matter right now. Let's catch him first and get the motive later." Yeon-Hee replied, turning the steering wheel left as they pulled up at the corner street next to a wide, grey triple-story apartment building among many others, where a man was standing at the stairway of the building with his hands in his pockets as the air was a bit chilly.
He was a bit chubby with a receding hairline as he wore a white untucked shirt under a broken wool jacket and dark brown trousers, immediately waving to Yeon-Hee's car as it pulled up.
He was the owner of the building who had been waiting for Yeon-Hee after getting a call from the police to show them Park Jae-Min's apartment unit.
"You're here." He said, putting his hands out of his pockets as Yeon-Hee and Dae-Bom walked over to him.
"Yes, what floor does he live on?" Yeon-Hee asked immediately while looking at the grey building.
"Second floor, follow me." The man replied, turning and walking up the stairs as Yeon-Hee and Dae-Bom followed behind.
"Ever since the death of his daughter, he quit his job and could barely pay rent. I tried to call him last month but he completely ignored me." The man spoke as they walked up and arrived on the second floor with the man in front of them walking past several units before arriving at unit 207.
"This is it." He said, unlocking the door as he opened and stood aside for them to enter.
Yeon-Hee peeked at the dark passageway for a few seconds before she walked in and flicked the light switch to her right, only for the lights not to come on.
She sighed and turned on the flash on her phone as Dae-Bom did the same while they walked in.
The air inside the unit had a strange stench mixed into it as they covered their noses with their elbows and inspected the rooms one by one while passing by before they finally arrived inside the dark living with the white curtains drawn shut as they blocked out the already fading light.
There were black trash bags all over the living room with mosquitoes flying around, making Dae-Bom cough while his flash drifted around the living room before landing on a white wall on his left.
It was littered with papers, pictures and red marker writings, placed in a messy but structural manner starting from top to bottom.
"What the hell is this?" Dae-Bom said, catching Yeon-Hee's attention as she turned around and saw the wall as well.
Yeon-Hee slowly walked over as she pointed the flash at the top of the messy wall to an old newspaper article about the death of a university student said to have overdosed.
'I remember this case. 3 years ago, some university students went to a club and one of them overdosed and died. The matter turned into a huge issue as there were rumours that the other students had caused her death, but it was just speculation.'
"It's about his daughter." Yeon-Hee mumbled, drifting the flash downwards on the linking marker line onto three pictures that were circled with a red marker as the word "Murderers!" was written in bold.
Cha Kyung-Jun, Jang Sara and Chae Lee-Gyeong were the three pictures!
Yeon-Hee immediately recognized the photos of the victims murdered today.
'Were they the ones involved in that case? That would explain why he's targeting them… Why were they not mentioned in the case? Was it covered up?'
Yeon-Hee turned on her phone and took a picture of the wall, about to look at the rest when Dae-Bom called out for her.
"Come look at this!" He said, standing behind the counter in the kitchen.
Yeon-Hee quickly turned away from the wall and went to the kitchen and straight to the sink where Dae-Bom pointed his flash.
A black handle kitchen knife stained with fresh blood was resting in the sink along with a pair of red spider-lilies.

Inside the underground parking lot of a high rise building.
"Alright, thanks for the heads up." Kang In-Hyuk thanked Yeon-Hee who had just informed him of what she and Dae-Bom discovered at the house as he and Jae-Sik were exiting his car, getting ready to question the possible sixth victim, Chae Lee-Gyeong.
