*Jameson's POV*
I wake up the next day in a hospital bed, my body aching from the beating I endured. The sides of my lungs burn so badly. When I tried to feel it, a jab of pain spread through my body, making me gasp.
The sterile smell of antiseptic fills the nostrils next and the steady beep of the heart monitor is a constant reminder of my injuries.
Despite the pain I am feeling, I don't regret fighting for Bella. My only regret is that she isn't here by my side. I wish she had stayed back. I had dozed off comfortably last night loving that she was by my side.
I glance around the room, hoping to see Bella, but she is nowhere in sight. A pang of loneliness hits me, but I push it aside. I don't expect her to stay knowing the devil she married as a husband.
