Chereads / Who Will Fall First? / Chapter 31 - 31

Chapter 31 - 31

"And that's all, class, your dismissed." Ms. Violet said, waving to the door. I stood, gathered my things, and was out the door before Connor could catch up. Unfortunately, he found me in the commons area, and sat beside me. I tried not to roll my eyes. It was clear that he wanted everyone to think we were dating so they wouldn't suspect a thing. I had this urge to throw him off a rooftop, but I refrained. "I've got somewhere to be tonight, babe, so you'll be by yourself." "Don't worry, I can survive a whole night with you gone." I muttered, not even looking him in the eyes. Ok, so maybe I wasn't hiding my anger very well. But that didn't matter. "Good. Because I'm leaving now." He kissed my lips, too quickly for me to react, and then he was gone. THAT MOTHERFUCKING BASTARD! HE CANT JUST LEAVE AFTER KISSING ME LIKE THAT IN FRONT OF EVERYONE! Before anyone could ask questions, I locked myself in my room, leaning my back against the door and letting my head rest on my knees. What was that?! First, he makes me question if I like him, and I realized he's the only one I allow to touch me, since his touch doesn't bother me like everyone else's. Then I figure out he's a villain, we make a bet, and then he acts like we're dating! That wasn't in the script! Stop making me question my sanity! Damn you, Connor! I thought frantically, flopping onto my bed, and wrapping myself in my blanket. Then I remembered what he'd said. He had to go somewhere tonight. He's meeting his little gang! Oh, my God, I can spy on him! Ew, that sounded-not right-but I know what I meant-I grabbed the bug's remote, opened my laptop, and inserted the USB, which showed Connor walking around the city. Then, I was met with the faces of his cloaked gang, watching him. Waiting for his next move. I turned my volume up a bit. "All of you remember the plan, right?" "Yes, boss!' "Good. And if you hurt her?" I swallowed. There was only one her he could've been talking about. "We're better off dead if we hurt her." "Splendid. Now, knowing her, she's most likely awake right now. I'd say you gass her first, then take her. Understood?" "Yes, sir!" "I thought so. Henry knows where the university dorms are, so he'll lead you there. I'll show you her door, and as soon as you open it, you gass her." Then, he left them, and was heading back to the university. I unplugged the USB, slipped that into my nightstand drawer, hid my computer under my bed, and wrapped my blanket around me, thinking. Why does he need to gass me? Where is he going to be taking me? No, where would he be taking me if he won? For minutes, I waited, and once my door opened and closed quickly, I made sure to not breathe and close my eyes. I'd be able to hold my breath for about thirty minutes. "Is she out?" I heard Connor ask quietly. I stayed still, unmoving, not breathing, not blinking. "She's out." "Excellent. Take her to the hideout."
