Ashira was just two years old when they eloped from the pack. Raphael was a cute little fat seven-year-old boy who had always loved candy, and Jayden was their twelve-year-old brother who had raised them until now.
Raphael said, "I was not that fat, Jay," wearing a slight frown. He knew he was overweight when he was younger, but he still looked great. He is still in awe of the tall and slender young man he has grown into.
Time really does fly. One of their least favorite memories of their lives was living in the human world. They were werewolves, and they found it difficult to adjust and adapt to their new surroundings, lifestyles, and personalities.
"We went days without food," Raphael remarked, his mind filled with bitter memories. "Remember when we had to scrape the remains of the discarded bones?"
Jayden give a nod.
The hardest moment was when the two brothers had to steal a box of chocolates to celebrate Ashira's tenth birthday. How could he forget the ugly memories? The days they had to fight the dogs for meat and even bones?
Raphael mockingly laughed at his brother, "You were almost beaten to death, Jay," for staying behind and pleading with the supermarket guards when he could have just run off after stealing the chocolate box.
He grinned, "Thank the goddess Ashira was human because we still begged for her door to door."
The werewolves' preferred diet was meat. Although they had other options for food, meat provided them with immediate energy and satisfaction. This increased their difficulty in adjusting to life in the human world. In the world of humans, meat was not an inexpensive good, but in the pack, you could get meat whenever you wanted it.
"When will you be seeing Raven?" Raphael let out a deep sigh and extended his hands idly; he needed to eat dinner before going to bed because his eyes were heavy.
"Tomorrow morning, Jayden got up from his seat and looked at his anxious brother, saying, 'Ashira is going to be fine!'"
It was Saturday tomorrow, the ideal day to catch up with the young Alpha.
To grab a quick snack before going to bed, they went to the kitchen. A small note written in cardboard caught Raphael's attention as he was about to open the refrigerator to grab a cup of his milk shake. The scribbled message was fastened to the fridge. With a wide smile, Raphael took a quick look at it before reading it out loud.
"I chose to save the leftover noodles for you guys because I could not finish them. It is best to reheat it before eating, go to bed early, and have sweet dreams."
Your Beautiful Sibling.
Ashira.
"Aww...With a dramatic gesture, Raphael put his hands on his chest and turned to face the beaming, clearly proud Jayden. "Ashy is not so clueless afterall."".
Raph winced in pain as Jayden pulled his left ear up, as if it were really hurting.
"Haaa, darling, it hurts," he said, rubbing his left ear and pouting sadly. Jayden heats the noodles and serves dinner.
"Do you really think Mother is unaware of our return?" Raphael was piling noodles onto his plate with a full fork.
Jayden firmly retorted, "I doubt it. Where the hell could she be?" He let go of his silverware, tucked his arms into his chest, and sank back into the dining chair.
They left their mother here, but they still did not know where she was. She was still somewhere in this pack.
"Simply fill up and concentrate on obtaining an amulet for Ashira." Rapheal was eating the noodles quickly, slurping them up and putting them in his mouth.
Jayden heaved a breath.
*sighs*
What a glutton of a brother he was; the noodles on the table were more important to him than the issue at hand..
"Well, bro, whatever you think" Using a tissue paper to wipe the side of his mouth, Raphaelael said, "Food helps the thinking and yes," pointing to Jayden with his fork. "A hungry man is an angry man." "Bon appétit."He grinned and added another mound of noodles to his plate as he finished..
