Raven lighted a cigarette in the living room of his chamber and spoke coldly to the chief Royal guard who was on duty. The man with average height and baldness was shaking uncontrollably while the intimidating Alpha prince questioned him.
"Why did you not send a different maid?" From a kitchen maid, he had learned about the visit.
His mouth opened, but no words emerged.
He said, his eyes cold and dark beneath the smoke, "Do not make me ask the same question twice." Raven's ominous stare served as a warning to anyone who disobeyed him.
The guard trembled, his wrinkled face tightening.
He stammered, "A-alp.ha.. They were Omegas."
"...And you are?" With a single glance, Raven's ink-black eyes silenced him.
Without uttering a coherent sentence, the man continued to open and close his mouth. He was also an Omega, but he served on the royal guard, so he was partially royal.
With narrowed eyes, Raven grabbed his wallet. "Four thousand dollars, get out!" he threw at him with a black card.
"Alpha!" The guard panicked."I am sorry."
Dragging one smoke after another, Raven gave him a chilly look. Raven said with even more depth, "Do not make me repeat myself."
At his door, the two personal Royal bodyguards stood resolute. Should an ant attempt to harm their Alpha, they would gladly kill it.
Abruptly, the door opened, and the guard emerged, sobbing silently while clutching a black card tightly in his hands.
Knowing what had happened to him, the two bodyguards exchanged a knowing glance and sighed. His job was terminated. "One of you, come in," echoed Raven's voice from inside.
Meeting Raven when he was furious was like entering a lion's den, and Eric knew better than to enter. Having spent over ten years with him, Blaine was his most trusted bodyguard and was adept at managing all of his emotions.
Blaine noticed Raven's dejected and irritated expression as soon as he walked in. "Alpha Prince," he bowed respectfully.
"Do you recognize the guests?" His question was icy.
"I think I recall one of them." With courtesy, he answered.
"You think..." Raven's dark, abyssal eyes gazed at him as though he would take out his pounding heart any moment.
Without delay, Blaine bowed his head. He did not dare to speak.
"Listen to me; arrange for a messenger to visit their home." "Get out," Raven said calmly, his voice low and calm as he held a cigarette between his fingers.
"Yes, Alpha".
Blaine backed away quickly and shut the door. He intended to express his gratitude to the moon goddess for sparing his life today.
Raven let out a long puff of smoke after Blaine had left. His curiosity about the Omegas who dared to visit him piqued his restlessness. Not that he cared much about his visitors' status within the pack—as long as they were werewolves, that is—but no Omega had ever mustered the bravery or daring to pay him a visit, and even the Avatars avoided him.
Ashira's house...
Since returning from wherever it was they went, Raphael has been restless. He was pacing back and forth in the living room, enraged.
"Are you okay, Raphael?" I inquired with concern.
His pacing was making me queasy and lightheaded as we were all seated in the living room. Already, I felt like throwing up. He approached the yellow sofa and cautiously tapped his left foot on the tiles; the clicking noises were more disturbing than his pacing.
He was merely perched in the chair, his hands gently resting on his crossed thighs, his eyes closed, and his head propped against the seat.
"Raphael." He either did not hear me or pretended not to; his eyes were still closed, and she sighed, even though I called in the sweetest, softest voice I did not even know I had.
"Hey bro, what is up?" She made another attempt, thinking he would become more receptive.
Nothing still. She let out another sigh and cast a worried glance at Jayden, wondering what might be bothering him right now. Jayden simply shrugged and lifted his shoulder.
The space was silent.
"Guys, what is for lunch?" Ashira was starving, so her request to reduce the tension was actually a very wise one.
At that moment, Raphael slowly opened his eyes and met her gaze with his intensely blue eyes. It was the first time in her memory that he had looked at her without grinning for up to twenty seconds. After a while, he nodded and averted his gaze from her. She exhaled softly.
Although Jayden did not seem to be too concerned about her situation, it still hurt her since she was so eager to speak with him and hear his canary-like voice. He had not spoken to her since entering. What could possibly have enraged her kind brother so much?
"Lunch.." With a sneer, Raphael spoke slowly. "You still feel like eating." He looked at me as if I was not supposed to think about my mealtime, with a mixture of pity and disgust. My pink wristwatch caught my eye, and I nodded. It was two minutes to two p.m.; should not I be eating lunch?
"You seem to lack appetite?" I questioned, a hint of mockery in my tone.
"Fool..."
Without missing a beat, I shot a pillow brusquely at Raphael while staring at him with wide eyes. What the devil was wrong with this guy? "Would you please stop already?" I gave him a savage shout.
Rising from the couch, he left through the open door without shutting it.Jayden approached the door and forcefully shut it, letting out all of his rage on the poor wood. Did these two get into a fight?I cast a wary look at Jayden.
