Chapter 26 - Overturned car

"Aleyah."

The woman who was called turned around. She smiled at Lucy who said goodbye to her. Today is her little sister's first day of college and she looks very happy. Lucy is a cheerful girl. She has made close friends with several girls and now they are exchanging social media.

Meanwhile, Aleyah was alone in the hallway of the campus building. They will return to their home in the district after Jeremy comes to pick them up. During that time, Aleyah had to patiently wait and she decided to listen to music to kill boredom.

"Aleyah."

Someone called her name again. But this voice wasn't Lucy's or anyone else's because she was alone in this place. Her name was called again but the voice was very small, like a soft whisper. Sounds like a faded echo and she knew that she knew that she had heard this voice before.

She looked around again and found who was calling her name. Aleyah stared for a long time at one corner of the long hallway. She turned back to facing forward quickly. Her name was still called but she didn't turn around this time. Neither did respond to that voice, not even in the slightest. Her face remained straight ahead but her eyes were shifted to look at something else.

Her eyes slowly filled with tears, like the surface of water being shaken by sliding water droplets. Her lips were getting paler and tears were about to spill from her eyes.

There was a middle-aged woman who was dressed neatly like a lecturer. The woman's head looked like a bar of soap that fell to the floor, out of shape, it looked horrible and full of blood. She was standing in front of an open window. She stretched out her head and her body, then she jumped until her whole body fell from the building perfectly. Aleyah couldn't pretend not to be surprised.

The lecturer ghost showed up again at the same spot. Standing still and stretching her head again, this time, the ghost turned her face to Aleyah, who was still watching in the same spot. The ghost grinned while crying at the same time. Then she jumped again until her body fell perfectly. Aleyah closed her eyes tight. She wished she didn't see that, she wished she could erase this horrible memories.

The lecturer ghost kept jumping off from the window barrier. She repeatedly jumped from the 2nd floor of this building like a short video repetition that was repeated forever.

"Aleyah!"

Aleyah gasped until her back hit the wall behind her. That loud voice cut her off. At the same time, tears fell from Aleyah's eyes and were slowly wiped away by the person who stood in front of her. She immediately diverted her attention from the terrifying ghost she saw in the corner of the hallway.

"What happened?" Jeremy asked gently. He stroked Aleyah's smooth cheek with his thumb, "You've been crying a lot lately.. I can help you Aleyah, now tell me what's wrong." he muttered.

Jeremy looked at the corner of the hallway that Aleyah had been staring at. There was no one there, just a long hallway with 3 large windows that looked ordinary without any odds. In the eyes of ordinary people, there are only two people in this long hallway. That's Jeremy and Aleyah, no one saw the ghost. No one saw the bad things that happened there except Aleyah. Jeremy shook Aleyah's body again so that the woman could regain consciousness.

Aleyah looked down for a moment. She tried to forget the ghost and its terrible actions that kept repeating themselves there. She swallowed and then looked back at the person in front of her. Jeremy stretched out his hand, Aleyah handed the heavy bag she was carrying into the man's hand. "I'm okay, I got dust in my eyes." She said to Jeremy. But Jeremy was not satisfied with that answer.

"We'd better go home now," Aleyah said again and then they walked towards the other side of the hall. Turn their back on the poor lecturer's ghost and leave her with her unfinished business.

Aleyah shook her head and closed her eyes. Trying to ignore the voices wailing for help from the crushed-headed ghost woman. The further she walked, the louder the woman called her name. "Aleyah!" she shouted in a shrill voice like an angry person.

"Aleyah help me!"

Aleyah quickened her pace until she got into the car before Lucy or Jeremy. She closed the door and suddenly the ghost's screams for help were muffled. It's quiet and sound now. She could only hear her own heartbeats and her heavy breath. [784]

Aleyah never met the teenage ghost again or his black shadow friends. She thought her life would change for the better. In fact, her days were getting more and more terrifying, she often saw ugly and nosy ghosts who liked to play pranks on her by surprising her or invading her sleep with scary things. Aleyah just realized that the teenage ghost had been protecting her from other ghosts all this time. Aleyah never saw the ugly ghosts when she was haunted by the teenage ghost.

She had to admit that there was nothing better between the teenage ghost and the other scary ghosts. They all came to her because they wanted something. There are those who just want to be mischievous and those who want things like food or help like the teenage ghost. They're all the same.

But Aleyah wasn't that bad either. Because for the first time she felt truly sorry for a ghost and finally decided to help that ghost.

That day she decided to turn on her cell phone. She wasn't going to see the video or anything, she just wanted to know whether she could still work with Jeremy's friend or not.

Aleyah was shocked until her cell phone slipped from her hand when she saw the ghost of a boy on her bed. An armless ghost child was jumping there, making her bed into a trampoline. The same thing happened again. That child ghost looked at her while his body was turned away from Aleyah. Aleyah shuddered in horror, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up and her breath hitched.

Instead of screaming, Aleyah laughed loudly and started to walk away to the door. She tried to avoid that child ghost, "I am starving. Looks like I'm going to eat outside today." She spoke alone, trying hard to sound cheerful.

"Hey." calls the little boy's ghost.

Aleyah almost choked to death on her saliva. The ghost immediately appeared in front of her until she stopped. The little boy's ghost blocked her way to the door. Aleyah still didn't give up. She had to keep pretending.

"Help me." The ghost's mouth was tightly closed. However, Aleyah could hear a boy's voice echoing in her ears.

"Help me.. h-help.." the little ghost's voice became weaker. Aleyah felt sorry and pity for hearing that so she sighed and decided to look into the ghost's eyes.

She was desperately holding back her screams. The appearance of this little boy's ghost is terrifying. But she had to act like didn't care, "Can you all stop disturbing my life?" She asked directly, a little stuttering.

That armless little ghost lowered his head. Wanted Aleyah to touch his head, which looks like a normal child's head. Aleyah was reluctant to reach out her hand because it was very scary. The ghost floated closer to the girl, "Help.. me.." the ghost muttered again.

That little ghost was in urgency and time was not something he could give to Aleyah. There is nothing he can do to make the woman stop being scared of him. After seeing Aleyah unable to move, the ghost put his forehead on Aleyah's forehead. Aleyah was so scared but unable to move either. The ghost began to close its eyes, just as Aleyah felt she had to do the same.

The little ghost shows some of his memories. He wants Aleyah to know about something. What Aleyah experienced now is something completely the same as that teenage ghost did to her. It feels like she was invited to watch a movie. But this movie felt so real as if she had truly entered the ghost's last memories.

Aleyah was sitting beside that ghost, an alive little boy, who was busy playing with his toy in both hands. They were both in a car and there was a driver who was fighting with someone on her cell phone. Aleyah tried to call that little boy and the woman but her voice couldn't reach them. She waved her hand and nothing happened, no one saw or heard her, like she was invisible to them.

Then something happened, Aleyah was still in the same car, feeling the same pain and all of their emotions. Aleyah began to breathe heavily in the middle of their activity. She started to scream and called out to them in a loud voice.

The little ghost pulled his head, ending the peep memory event that they were doing. Aleyah fell off the ground and caught her breath. She looked up, making eye contact with the little ghost and covered her mouth. She squeezed her shirt, she could feel their pain, fear and despair.

"Help.." that little ghost muttered again. His eyes suddenly filled with tears. Aleyah felt sorry for him and this time, only this time she would help a ghost.

And not long after that.

The little ghost brings her to some road on the edge of town. There are still few houses there so the vibe is very quiet. Aleyah stopped at a steep bend in the road. She found traces of a car that had fallen into a ravine. Aleyah approached the edge of the cliff and saw an overturned car.
