Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Kim Hae-yoon was in a daze throughout the whole walk, her mind was wrapped around the fact that her wife held her hand and she was so happy. She didn't even notice that the two were already done ordering when she noticed the waiter putting plates on their table.

Kim Hae-yoon ate the food nervously and happily until she noticed that her wife only ordered a salad. She had noticed that her wife seemed to eat less whenever they were in public yet when they were at home, she noticed that her wife ate quite a lot.

Albeit the confusion, she cut out half of her steak and ate the part she'd really eaten and put down her utensils. Her wife noticed her actions and looked at her in confusion.

"Oh, I'm not hungry." She smiled sweetly as Cho Shiye nodded. The two had left early in the morning after a light breakfast and Kim Hae-yoon has a heavy appetite so it's quite impossible for her to not be hungry.

'What is she planning?' Cho Shiye kept eating the salad, it wasn't filling enough for her and she's already tired and hungry from trying out everything inside the arcade.

Cho Shiye noticed Kim Hae-yoon slipping her plates towards her, the meat was neatly cut out and the broccoli on the sides that Cho Shiye hated was gone.

"I don't want to waste food and you wouldn't get full over salads, so yeah." Kim Hae-yoon explained nervously, Cho Shiye looked at her and smiled.

She took the plate and spoke in a low tone of voice, "Thank you."

Kim Hae-yoon blushed and smiled contentedly as she drank her coffee, it was too bitter to her taste but seeing that smile on her wife, the coffee seemed to taste sweeter than ever.

Cho Shiye looked at the expression on Kim Hae-yoon's and chuckled, 'So this was her plan, huh? How cute.' Cho Shiye thought as she happily ate her food.

Cho Shiye felt quite full and was ready to go out when a waiter arrived with desserts, she seemed baffled and looked at Kim Hae-yoon who smiled at her.

Cho Shiye kept eyeing Kim Hae-yoon when she realized that Kim Hae-yoon had ordered strawberry shortcakes. Kim Hae-yoon looked at her in confusion.

"Do you not like it?" She asked nervously after seeing the prying eyes of her wife, thinking she made a wrong decision.

'Is she allergic to strawberries?'

"It's not that." Her wife replied.

"What is it then?" She asked curiously.

Cho Shiye observed her intently and sighed, 'Nevermind, she's actually a fool.'

"Nothing, let's just eat." Cho Shiye ate the shortcakes, this is the first she'd ever eaten strawberry related food as it's very strange for alphas or omegas to eat or have anything related to their own pheromones.

Cho Shiye looked at Kim who ate the cake with a big grin, she seemed to enjoy strawberries a lot. 'She seems to like strawberries a lot.'

While it may not be strange for an alpha to have an object or food that represents their omega's pheromones, it's still quite strange considering their current predicament.

And besides, pheromones are a private matter that people in close intimate relationships know. The only ones who knew about the scent of her pheromones were Kim Yun-hee, Kang In-eun, and the medical reports on the hospital.

Kim Yun-hee and Kang In-eun wouldn't share that information with Kim Hae-yoon considering their relationship and status. So, that leaves the medical reports as the source of information.

Kim Hae-yoon was the empress of this land so it's not strange for her to get her hands on those medical reports but, even if she goes through such lengths to get them, why?

'She's been treating me kindly these past few days and she even apologized to me for forcing me to marry her.' Cho Shiye looked at Kim Hae-yoon who looked back at her and smiled gently.

'Ah, I see. I thought I'm just being delusional at first, but this woman really does love me. But, why?'

Kim Hae-yoon noticed that Cho Shiye was deep in thoughts so she didn't bother her as she finished up the dessert and felt her optical brain vibrate. She opened it and saw messages from Park Cheol-seok, she smiled and opened them as she saw that he sent the movie tickets for all of the movies airing at the mall today.

Kim Hae-yoon forgot to tell Park Cheol-seok what movie she wanted but seeing that he bought all of them, she smiled and turned off her optical brain.

Thankfully, it's just 11:05, the movie would start at 11:45 so she still had time. She paid their order using her optical brain and held her hand out towards her wife as she stood up.

"Let's go watch a movie."

*****

Kim Hae-yoon was holding her wife's hand as they strolled around the mall. She noticed that her wife was peeking around the stores selling clothes with eyes glittering, she smiled and planned out another date for the two of them in mind.

Her wife suddenly stopped and stood frozen, stricken with sadness, anger, and confusion as she stared firmly at a distance.

Kim Hae-yoon followed her line of sight when she noticed Kim Yun-hee walking around the mall with another woman, her hands were on her waist and their distance was way too close for friends as Kim Yun-hee seemed to kiss the woman.

Kim Hae-yoon felt sympathy towards her wife as she smiled at her weakly and wrapped her arms around Cho Shiye.

Cho Shiye looked at Kim Hae-yoon hugging her as the tears from her eyes started to flow. She had seen Kim Yun-hee hang around different omegas throughout the 7 years they're together, even when they're in college, Kim Yun-hee didn't take her out on dates but would often take other omegas.

Cho Shiye couldn't stop crying as she remembered those moments, Kim Yun-hee always tell her they're just her friends and there's nothing more with them, telling her to stop acting like a b*tch and control who she's hanging out with.

She always chose to believe Kim Yun-hee even though it's abundantly clear that Kim Yun-hee was cheating on her and doesn't care or love her but, she still chose to stay in belief that the woman she fell in love with would still be there.

The woman who would write her handwritten love letters, carve out gifts for her made out of wood, and also chocolates she baked and flowers she handpicked for her.

But ever since they got together, she changed and didn't do all of that again. It hurts Cho Shiye badly but she loves her so much no matter how much it pains her.

Sometimes she doubts if Kim Yun-hee was even the one who gave her those gifts but whenever she would see those charming smiles of Kim Yun-hee.

Her arms wrapped around her body that even if it hurts and she's rough, it still has her comfort, those deep green eyes that look through her very being, belittling and claiming her as hers no matter how cold and distant they seem, and those soft voices calling out her name.

"...Shiye… Cho Shiye!" Kim Hae-yoon called out as she hugged her wife tightly, patting her back and humming softly to calm her down.

'Yes, just like that sweet voice calling my name and wrapping me up in her arms for comfort.' Cho Shiye thought, unable to grasp reality as she's deep into her sorrows. 'This is the one I love, Kim Yun—!'

Cho Shiye looked at the worried eyes of Kim Hae-yoon who was embracing her tightly in her arms as she hummed sweetly into her ears.

'Why? Why is it you?' Cho Shiye cried even further.
