Chapter 2
Kim Hae-yoon opened her mouth to answer but then, she was awoken by a loud voice.
"Your majesty?" Cho Yun-shik asked worriedly upon seeing the dazed expression on Kim Hae-yoon's face. Kim Hae-yoon looked at him coldly and nodded. "I won't bother your majesty any longer. Please take care of my daughter well." Cho Yun-shik smiled slyly as Kim Hae-yoon nodded.
She walked towards Cho Shiye who'd been observing her for quite a long time. Kim Hae-yoon was quite taller than her by a few inches so she had to look up to see the face of Kim Hae-yoon. The once cold and indifferent look Kim Hae-yoon gave Cho Yun-shik was gone and was replaced with warmth as she smiled at Cho Shiye.
Baffled, Cho Shiye looked at her frowning. She hates Kim Hae-yoon, she hates this tyrant who forced her to marry her despite knowing she's her cousin's lover.
She hated her father for allowing this marriage despite telling him that she already had someone whom she deeply loves but it only fell into deaf ears as his father doesn't care about her opinion since she's an omega and also an unfavoured child of her father.
Despite all the alpha and omega equality the empire had, her father is still a conservative man who thinks omegas are fertility machines who doesn't have a say in important matters as they should be a loyal spouse and raised children. A disgusting pig indeed.
She loathed the two of them but she hated Kim Hae-yoon more.
She tried to hide her disgust towards Kim Hae-yoon as she's powerless, Kim Hae-yoon was the empress of this empire and also an alpha. She's known for being a tyrant and would force her way through everything to get what she wants.
So, seeing those affectionate eyes of Kim Hae-yoon disgusted her more than this marriage itself. She held it deep inside as she smiled. Following the traditions, she was carried by Kim Hae-yoon towards the carriage as it's customary for omega brides and grooms not to set foot on the ground until the two tied the knot.
Feeling Kim Hae-yoon's body pressed against her in an enclosed space, she held her urge to vomit. She soon reached the carriage and she immediately went inside before Kim Hae-yoon could help her properly.
Sighing, Kim Hae-yoon smiled in sympathy towards Cho Shiye which Cho Shiye ignored. Kim Hae-yoon knew that Cho Shiye hated her guts more than ever and if only she transmigrated a few years before the novel took place, she would've courted Cho Shiye properly but, alas, it's too late to regret now.
She only needed to become a good wife towards Cho Shiye and, if possible she found someone that isn't Kim Yun-hee, she'll divorce her. She knew that she needed to alleviate from the plot to avoid her fated death but, she's far more worried about Cho Shiye's than hers. And besides, she can just not do what she did in the original novel.
For example, she won't send Kim Yun-hee to an expedition and let her grow a loyal army that would give her power for a coup. And as for Cho Shiye, she would stay with her like a close friend and would not hurt her in any capacity.
With a plan in mind, she rode the carriage towards the palace and continued the wedding. The wedding was quite long and the two had to formally meet all the dignitaries from various states and planets who came to celebrate their wedding.
Kim Hae-yoon kept glancing at Cho Shiye who greeted everyone with a smile, not a hint of tiredness can be seen from her face but, omega's physique isn't as good as an alpha and she already felt tired so, she walked towards Cho Shiye and whispered.
"Sit if you're tired, I'll deal with everyone myself." She spoke in a soft tone of voice but Cho Shiye perceived it as an order. She nodded and sat down, displeased, as she observed Kim Hae-yoon.
Kim Hae-yoon glanced at her and seeing the frown on Cho Shiye, she suddenly remembered that she hadn't eaten yet. She excused herself from the minister whom she's speaking to as she went to take some food for Cho Shiye, after she came back, she went to the place where she last saw cho Shiye but she wasn't there so, she looked around for her.
After a while of searching, she found Cho Shiye and saw a woman happily chatting with her, anyone can see the sweet smile on her face.
She strides forward and as she draws closer, she realizes that it was Kim Yun-hee whom Cho Shiye was talking to. She stood motionless as she listened to what the two were conversing about.
"I thought you're not going to attend." Cho Shiye spoke.
"Even if it hurts me to see you get married to that woman, I still wanted to see you because I missed you." Kim Yun-hee replied in a coaxing manner with a slight sadness in her tone.
"Hm." Cho Shiye replied with a sad smile. Kim Yun-hee reached out her hands and held Cho Shiye's as she rubbed it against her thumb.
"I love you, Shishi." Kim Yun-hee spoke as Cho Shiye looked at her with tears in her eyes.
"You keep saying that yet, you've even proposed to me for the last 7 years we've been together." Cho Shiye spoke the grievances in her heart. It's so unfair, why does she have to be married to Kim Hae-yoon? If only Kim Yun-hee proposed sooner, the two of them might've been married and she would've been happy.
"Shishi, please understand. You know that I can't marry you, right?" Kim Yun-hee spoke seriously which made Cho Shiye burst out in tears. Kim Yun-hee was of a stature far higher than hers and she's already engaged with another omega.
But even so, it still hurts Cho Shiye that she couldn't even take her in as a concubine. Kim Yun-hee had countless concubines and even though they're lovers, she's never officially hers. She's more like a mistress than a lover to Kim Yun-hee so everyone deemed her an embarrassment.
"I know, but–" Cho Shiye didn't finish her words as she saw Kim Hae-yoon looking at the two of them.
