"This is unnecessary. Your mom isn't here, and no one else would know if we are eating lunch together or not. I don't want to get exposed here in your company."
"No one is here, so no one would know, Allie. Don't overthink it."
Allie sighed and took a seat. The bowl of stew was soon brought by Newton. She hadn't eaten much earlier that morning, and everything that happened had taken a lot of her energy.
"I heard you left right after solving the issue with the security breach. Mmm..."
He looked at her with squinting eyes.
"So this is what this lunch is for, huh?" Allie nodded. "Yes, I left. Something urgent came up. I hope you didn't have me followed to where I went because I would be offended."
"No, I didn't have you followed." He smirked darkly. "But I have a feeling that your leaving had something to do with the security breach."
