Chapter 15 - Brave yet naive destiny

"Mommy, you came," Destiny started running towards Heaven. The excitement and happiness could be seen in her movements.

She was talking to another child but as soon as she saw her mom, she started running towards her.

Eager to be in the arms of her mother.

Heaven was so happy that she could cry. The peace and happiness she felt meeting her daughter after such a long time was incomparable with anything else.

Heaven opens her arms after going on her knees and Destiny jumps in her arms, instantly wrapping her small yet chubby arms around Heaven's neck.

Destiny's baby powder smell instantly calmed down Heaven. Destiny was Heaven's home and Heaven was Destiny's.

Oh, how Heaven wanted to take Destiny home with her but she recently noticed a strange thing around their home and couldn't possibly bring Destiny home without a proper check.

"I knew that you would come. Mama never breaks her promise. Will you take me with you this time, Mama?" Destiny asked, her big brown eyes looking at her mother's face with so much innocence that Heaven wanted to hide her away from the whole world.

Heaven didn't have the heart to tell her daughter that she failed as a mother to protect her child. She failed to give her a protected home and that, she has to stay here for some more time.

Till when, she didn't know. She didn't have the answer for anything.

Sensing Heaven's hesitation and guilt, Serenity jumped in order to save her best friend.

"I see, in the presence of your mother, you forgot your most favorite aunt in this whole world," Serenity said with a teasing tone.

Destiny's eyes lit up. She loved Serenity the most in this whole world, after lord and her mother, of course.

Serenity was the person who spoils her the most. At the start, she was a little skeptical about adopting a child but as soon as they got the child, it's as if the cupid has hit Serenity with a love bow with Destiny's name.

She would leave no scope to spoil Destiny. She would take Destiny with her to the shopping mall and would shop for her until Destiny had to beg her to go home.

Destiny never has ice cream or chocolate shortage, all thanks to her aunt Serenity.

Most of the time, Heaven would have to scold the hell out of Serenity to stop her.

Destiny was like the dove, inside of whom Serenity's soul was kept. That's how much she loved her.

"Aunt Serenityyyy," she jumps in her arms.

"I missed you so much, little munchkin," Serenity says while hugging her even more tightly.

"I missed you more. By the way, I need to tell you a little secret. Don't tell Mama, ok?" She says in a hushed tone.

"I won't tell your mama, promise. What is it?" Serenity replies in the same hushed tone.

Heaven just shakes her head at their behavior. They were acting as if she wasn't there. But she didn't bother ruining the aunt-niece moment.

"I like a guy. He's really nice but his one friend comes to visit him sometimes. He's not nice. I need to kill him so that I can get the guy of my dreams. Otherwise, he would steal him away from me," Destiny said with so much seriousness that Serenity thought that she was actually going to kill that sad and poor little guy.

"Oh, no. I think that the other guy is jealous because he's gay and likes your guy. We can ask him to back off but if he doesn't then we shall make him disappear. Don't worry, I got your back."

Serenity was so invested in the tea that she forgot that Destiny was only five years old.

Heaven who could hear everything despite their 'oh-so-hushed-voice' face palmed herself.

Sometimes she can't believe that Serenity used to be the meanest girl in school who would walk all over others without batting a single eye.

Leave that, sometimes she even forgets that she's 28 and not 14, given her behavior that's how she acts.

And around Destiny, she turns even younger. It's as if she's living her childhood through Destiny.

She gives her everything she craved for as a child. She makes sure that she knows she is well-loved and well-protected.

"You are going to do no such thing. Maybe they are just friends and he is not interested in sharing his friend with you because you are not his friend. Maybe you should try being a little nicer and give him chocolates so that he becomes your friend. Maybe then he will let you befriend his friend," Heaven said, trying to make her wild daughter a little calmer.

"Well, in this case, I guess I can sacrifice my chocolate if he is ready to sacrifice his friend in the future," saying this she goes somehow, probably to her room and comes back with a chocolate bar.

She takes a deep breath and looks at her aunt and mother. She gives them a determined nod and starts walking towards the two boys.

Her steps were really confident but she was walking like a soldier on a mission.

It's like she was going on a war. Heaven and Serenity couldn't help but chuckle.

They decided to move closer to see what she was going to do.

She finally stops before two boys. They were looking a little older than her.

One has darker hair, dark as the night while the other has white hair, as pale as the snow.

These small boys were clearly going to break lots of hearts in the future.

Heaven and Serenity watch as Destiny taps on the shoulder of the darker-haired guy.

He gives her an irritated look.

She gives him the same look but quickly hides it away under a really sweet smile.

"Look, my aunt bought this really tasty chocolate. I will give it to you if you are ready to sacrifice your friend in return," she says in a serious tone with the same sweet smile.

The boys give her a shocked look and her mother and aunt facepalms themselves.

Destiny wasn't meant for love.
