Chapter 19 - Aaron isn't that bad

"I will miss you, mommy. Come to meet me soon again," Destiny says in a quivering voice with her head hidden in Heaven's neck and arms snaking around it.

She didn't remind her of the promise Heaven made. She didn't throw a tantrum either.

She's a kid yet she wasn't behaving like one and this thing is what pierced Heaven's heart.

She wanted her to throw tantrums, be stubborn, and forcefully come along. That's what kids are supposed to do. They are supposed to show rights to their parents, they are supposed to be childish.

They aren't supposed to grow too fast. They aren't supposed to be this understanding and accept things without making a fuse. They are supposed to live their childhood without burdening themselves with the baggage of the older.

At that moment, Heaven felt like she had failed as a mother, not because her daughter threw a tantrum but because she didn't.
