THE SYSTEM I MADE
Chapter 18
"Ignored warning"
"Good morning, Master. A friendly reminder that today is the day for you to be assigned to your class and start your journey in the academy," said Aida, its voice devoid of emotion.
"Morning, Aida. Thanks for the reminder," said Alex, stretching his arms and legs after a long sleep. He got off the bed to start his day.
"Aida is happy when the master is informed," said Aida.
"You really should stop saying weird things, Aida. You creep me out when you say that," Alex replied, shaking his head as he arranged his bed.
After preparing, he was about to leave when Aida notified him before he could step out.
"New: Daily Quest - Player is required to complete daily quest to earn distribution points, experience points, and more prizes. Skipping daily quest can result in a penalty," the system's screen displayed in front of Alex.
"Daily quest? This is not the time for that, Aida. I'm going to be late," Alex said, overwhelmed by the information.
"Notice: Please be informed that saving daily quests for later increases the high chances of not completing the quest. Failure of completion will lead to a penalty. Do you wish to proceed with the decision?" Aida prompted.
"Yes, I'll worry about that later," Alex said, a hurry in his tone as he made his way to the hall.
He dashed through the corridors, taking in the early morning bustle of the academy. Students were heading to their destinations, some looking excited, others anxious. The grandeur of Valorwood Academy seemed even more impressive in the morning light, and Alex couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness and anticipation.
As he reached the hall, it was already filled with other freshmen, all eagerly awaiting their assignments. He spotted a few familiar faces, including the group of bullies from the day before, but he paid them no mind.
Professor Elise stood at the front of the hall, her presence commanding attention. She smiled warmly as she began to speak. "Good morning, freshmen. Today marks the beginning of your journey at Valorwood Academy. You will be assigned to your classes and introduced to the curriculum that will guide you through your first year."
Alex found a seat and listened intently.
"you will each receive a piece of paper with your class assignment. Please find the professor listed on the paper and report to them. They will guide you to your designated classroom." She said.
Staff members emerged from the wings, distributing the papers to the eager students. Alexander's hands trembled slightly as he received his paper. Unfolding it, he read the bold print:
Class: 1-E
Professor: Elise
"I got Professor Elise, I was lucky," Alexander thought to himself, a hint of a smile creeping onto his face. "Since I already know her, it will make things much easier for me."
He made his way through the crowd, his eyes fixed on the familiar figure of Professor Elise. Her warm smile and kind eyes were a beacon of reassurance amidst the chaos of the hall.
Alexander felt a sense of relief wash over him. Having already encountered Professor Elise during his time at the prestigious academy, he knew he was in good hands. Her expertise in Potions and Elixir studies was renowned, and he was eager to learn from her.
With a determined stride, he approached Professor Elise, ready to begin his academic journey in Class 1-E.
"Greetings, young master," Professor Elise said with a warm smile, her eyes sparkling with recognition as she spotted Alexander among the students gathered beside her. "What a coincidence."She amused
"Indeed," Alexander replied, returning her smile with a nod.
Professor Elise's gaze swept across the assembled students. "Since everyone who is assigned to Class 1-E is here, we should get going. I'll show you to your classroom and get things started already."
With that, she turned and began walking towards the classroom, her long, flowing robes billowing behind her. The students assigned to Class 1-E, including Alexander, followed closely behind, their chatter and nervous laughter filling the air as they trailed after their professor.
The hall was divided into sections, each designated for a specific class. Alexander's eyes scanned the signs: 1-A, 1-B, 1-C, 1-D, and 1-E for the first years.
"Now that we are here ,we should get started, I'll be your guide through the world of Potions and Elixir studies and development. Today, we'll dive into the fundamentals of potion-making and the art of elixir creation."
The day flew by in a blur of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. Alexander's mind reeled from the sheer amount of information, but he was determined to keep up.
Finally, the day ended, and Alexander trudged to his dorm room, exhausted. He collapsed onto his bed, ready to surrender to sleep.
Just as he drifted off, a sudden screen appeared before him, glowing with an ethereal light. The words;
"Daily Quest Failed"
emblazoned the screen.
Though he didn't noticed it since his body was tired and the only thing he thought about was sleeping, as he was still sleeping those words did not disappear from the screens of the system instead they were there the whole night as if they were waiting for Alex to recognize them.
---
Alexander's peaceful slumber was disrupted by an unknown disturbance, his smile fading as his expression turned to one of discomfort. He felt an odd sensation in his mouth, and as he opened his eyes, he was met with an unpleasant surprise. A blade of grass was stuck to his lips, and he instinctively spat it out, his face contorting in disgust.
"What the hell is this?" he muttered, his voice laced with confusion. He held the offending blade of grass between his thumb and index finger, examining it as if it might hold some answers. "Ewww, is this grass?"
As he tossed the grass aside, Alexander's gaze fell upon his surroundings, and his eyes widened in shock. He was not in his bed, nor was he in his dorm room. Instead, he found himself lying on a forest floor, surrounded by towering trees and lush greenery.
Alexander's mind raced as he scrambled to his feet, his heart pounding in his chest. "Wait, why is there grass in my bed?" he asked himself, only to realize that he wasn't even in his bed! The last thing he remembered was going to sleep, and now... now he was stranded in the middle of nowhere.
"WHERE THE HELL AM I?!" Alexander shouted, his voice echoing through the forest. He spun around, searching for any sign of civilization, but there was nothing. No buildings, no people, just trees and grass as far as the eye could see.
Alexander's panic grew, his thoughts racing with questions. How did he get here? And how was he going to get back? The uncertainty was suffocating, and he knew he had to find answers – and fast.
