THE SYSTEM I MADE
Chapter 21
"The wind Dragon"
(TEMPLE OF ASCENDANCE)
"Grrr,"
The goblin growled, pointing a clawed finger in the direction where they believed the intruder to be. The goblins, huddled in a group, communicated in their guttural language, trying to organize their search for the one invading their temple. It was a hellish night for the goblins, as they were disappearing one by one at the hands of a single, deadly individual.
The figure holding a sword emerged from the shadows, moving with deadly precision. The goblins tried to fend off the attacker, rushing towards the figure with wild abandon.
"Nightshade Blade Dance, first formation, Shadow Waltz,"
the figure intoned, performing a flawless dance that created a whirlwind of steel, cutting down multiple goblins in an instant. After sheathing his black blade, the system's screens appeared before him.
"You have slain Goblins. You have earned 70 distribution points. You have earned 60 points."
It was the masked assassin, Alex, clad in an assassin's robe and mask. "Thanks to the daily quests I've been receiving from Aida, my skills are increasing," he mused. "And I even bought a new black sword that can withstand the Nightshade Blade Dance formations. Though I can currently perform only three formations out of the eleven total, I have been learning with Sir Gareth back at the Eldraine Estate."
Alex stood amidst the fallen goblins, the temple echoing with the silence of the slain. He wiped his blade clean, feeling the weight of his victories. Suddenly, a deep, guttural growl echoed through the temple halls.
From the shadows emerged the Goblin King, a towering figure with a crown of bone and eyes burning with malevolent intelligence. It wielded a massive club studded with jagged rocks, each swing capable of crushing stone.
"Grrr... Human! You dare defile my temple?" the Goblin King roared, advancing with heavy steps.
Alex tightened his grip on his sword, readying himself. "Time to see if all that training paid off," he muttered.
The Goblin King charged, its club smashing into the ground where Alex had stood just a moment before. Alex moved with agility, his movements a blur as he dodged the massive swings.
"Nightshade Blade Dance, First Formation: Shadow Waltz!" Alex called out, his voice echoing through the temple.
His body flowed like water, each step precise and calculated. He weaved around the Goblin King, his blade striking with deadly accuracy. The first formation of the Nightshade Blade Dance was a seamless blend of offense and defense, creating a whirlwind of steel that cut through the Goblin King's defenses.
The Goblin King roared in pain and fury, swinging wildly. But Alex's movements were too swift, too fluid. He struck again and again, each hit weakening the monstrous creature.
Finally, with a powerful lunge, Alex drove his sword through the Goblin King's heart. The massive beast let out a final, gurgling roar before collapsing to the ground.
"You have slain the Goblin King. You have earned 70 distribution points. You have earned 100 points," appeared on Alex's system screen.
He breathed heavily, the adrenaline still coursing through him.
"You have earned 80 bonus points. You have unlocked a new skill: 'Conqueror's Call,'" Aida announced.
"Conqueror's Call? What is that?" Alex asked, curious.
"Conqueror's Call is a unique skill that enables the user to control monsters or creatures that have been slain by the user," Aida explained.
"Interesting," Alex mused, impressed by this new ability.
Just as he was about to take a moment to rest, a voice echoed in his mind. "Help..." It was faint, but the plea was clear.
Alex sensed a tremendous amount of magical energy deeper in the temple. Driven by curiosity and concern, he sprinted towards the source.
He arrived at a large chamber and was shocked by what he saw. A gigantic wind dragon, Galeos, was trapped in a dimensional barrier, its life force being drained. A man clothed in religious robes stood nearby, holding a fragment that radiated powerful magic.
"Who are you?" Alex demanded, stepping into the chamber.
The man turned, a sinister smile on his face. "I am a servant of the divine, here to execute God's plan," he replied.
"Don't let him get away with the fragment!" Galeos's voice echoed in Alex's mind, filled with desperation.
"A speaking dragon?" Alex was momentarily taken aback.
"Do not listen to that creature! He is evil and must pay for his crimes," the man insisted. "This fragment must be destroyed to save humanity."
"He's lying. The Espiritas cult cannot be trusted. Their goal is to bring about the apocalypse," Galeos warned.
"Join me, masked one, and you shall receive salvation and power beyond imagination," the cultist tempted.
"I've had enough of listening to you spout nonsense," Alex said, dashing forward.
Alex dashed forward with blinding speed. His fist connected with the man's face, sending him flying through the ancient stone walls. Simultaneously, Alex snatched the fragment from the man's grasp.
"You have defeated a cultist, you have ascended to D rank." The notification flashed on Alex's screen.
"Oh, that's a surprise. I have ascended to D rank." Alex smirked, feeling a surge of pride, then his attention turned to the dragon.
"Dragon, what's your name?" Alex asked. The dragon's eyes were closed, the dimensional barrier having vanished after the man's defeat. The dragon gave no reply.
"Is it dead?" he asked himself, touching the dragon's scales.
"The dragon seems to be still alive. A high demonic artifact that has the ability to neutralize life force and magical energy was activated inside the barrier, weakening the dragon. There's a 99% possibility that the man you just defeated is the cause of this," Aida stated.
"Why would a man like him, who speaks of salvation, acquire demonic artifacts? It was the right choice to believe the dragon, though unfortunately, it's meeting its end," Alex said.
"Wait, what if I use this newly acquired skill?" he said, coming to a realization.
"That would not work. Conqueror's Call can only be activated when the user has slain the monster to truly revive and control it," Aida explained.
"Oh right, that's true," Alex said, but then an idea struck him. "Dragon, are you still alive?" he asked.
The dragon growled faintly.
"What if I told you there is a way to save your life?" Alex said, standing in front of its face.
"Don't bother, human. I'm about to die,I'm just glad the fragment is in safe hands" the dragon replied weakly.
"Just give me a chance. I have a special skill that enables me to control monsters that I have slain, but I need your permission to do something," Alex insisted.
"I'm listening," the dragon said.
"It's simple... for the skill to take effect, I just need to end your life right now," Alex explained.
"I see. Since I'm dying anyway, you want me to be finished by your hands instead of just dying because of that demonic artifact. If I'm defeated by you, then you'll revive me, but I'll be serving or controlled by you. Is that what you're saying?" the dragon asked.
"Not the reaction I was expecting. You are one intelligent dragon, and yes, that is what I'm saying," Alex replied.
"Before I can accept, what are your goals, human?" the dragon asked.
"Well, it's simple. My only mission is to defeat the demon kings, and I'll do anything to achieve that so I can finally complete something and see someone special again," Alex said, not wanting to reveal too much.
"I see. Your goals are aligned with mine. Then I accept your proposal," the dragon said.
Alex nodded, drawing his sword. "Thank you. I promise to use your power wisely."
With a swift, precise strike, Alex ended the dragon's life. A system notification appeared.
"You have slain Galeos, the Wind Dragon. Conqueror's Call activated."
Alex activated the skill, feeling a surge of power flow through him. The dragon's body glowed and then reformed, the wounds healing rapidly.
The wind dragon Galeos was reformed, but this time not as a dragon. Instead, he stood in human form, looking at his hands in disbelief. "I'm really still alive, amazing," Galeos said, amused.
"W-wait, why do you look like a human?" Alex asked, bewildered.
"I'm guessing that I lost a lot of magical energy. Until I can regain my full magical energy, I might be stuck in this form. But for now, this will suffice," Galeos replied.
"I didn't introduce myself earlier. I am Galeos, the wind dragon. I'm grateful that you were able to revive me. From now on, I, Galeos the wind dragon, shall serve under you with aligned goals. I vow to help you defeat the demon kings and complete your objectives," said Galeos, bowing his head and placing his left hand on his chest.
"You have gained an ally. You can now summon Galeos, the wind dragon, as you wish," Aida announced.
"Nice," Alex thought to himself, pleased with the development.
"My name is Alexander Eldraine. It is an honor to work with you, Galeos," he said, removing his mask.
"Eldraine... You are one of the young masters of Gerald. It's strange how the young masters of Eldraine possess such talent," Galeos mused.
"Aida, can you check for me his rank status?" Alex asked.
"Affirmative," Aida replied.
**Galeos, Wind Dragon**
**Magical Attributes:** Wind
**Rank:** SS rank
"SS rank?! I actually have an SS rank dragon In my assets?" Alex exclaimed, shocked. "How did Conquerors call even work on an SS rank dragon?"
"Conquerors call is a unique skill and is considered a legendary class skill. It can absorb and control almost all monsters" Aida explained
"To think 'Alexander Eldraine' is actually gifted with such powerful skill" he thought.
Alex pondered this. "What's so important about the fragment in my hand?" he asked, recalling the cultist's earlier words.
"I don't have much intel on the Espiritas cult, but from their recent movements, it looks like they are after the fragments of the Twin Dragon Blades," Galeos said.
"Tell me more about these Twin Dragon Blades," Alex requested.
Galeos nodded. "The Twin Dragon Blades consist of the Demon Destroyer and the Celestial Guardian Blade. The Demon Destroyer was forged from the heart of a dying star and quenched in the blood of fallen demons. It can cut through the dark essence of demons. The Celestial Guardian was crafted from pure celestial light and is designed to shield and heal. Together, these blades were named after the mythical twin dragons, Draconis and Seraphis. They were wielded by the second-crowned Archmagister(leader of a powerful group from the united nations)thousands of years ago, who led humanity to victory against the demon hordes."
Alex recalled the game lore. "Why would they be after weapons that can destroy the demon race? Could they use them to defeat the demons, or do they have another objective?"
"Their true motives are still unknown, but we must investigate further," Galeos agreed.
Alex sighs and said."We have much work to do"
