Chapter 40 - Despair: Farewell

"Hehehehehehe! Now that I know that you don't die, I will make sure that as long as I am king of India, you are killed after every minute of your life. Hehehe! This is the best suffering I have ever given you."

My twin brother's last words to me played in my head.

I muttered, "Maybe it is a good thing that I was sold to the Aliens after my brother's death. Maybe if I get out of here, I can make a fresh start."

Cough, cough...

The gentle coughs that came from the top of my bunk bed were the ones that alerted me that Tito had finally woken up after six hours of sleeping.

I smiled, as I stayed in my blanket, "You should be quiet, peasant. Don't make such loud and disturbing sounds in the presence of royalty."

Tito faked a groan as he looked at the bunk beds at the other end of the room, "…ah, what are you, a tsundere or something? If you wanted to be Prince Charming, why didn't you look for Encender? With your immortality, it would have been pretty easy."

'This guy!'

Somehow, I find myself not withstanding the words that came out of his big mouth, "Why don't you do it? If you turn your body into tiny mosquitoes, you can easily pass through the great stone bars."

"Thank you for the idea. I might just as well do that. I hope our needle sends a dagger into this cell."

I found myself shivering a little at the mention of our cell alien neighbor who always gives us death glares.

'Tsk, why did he bring her up? I can't even walk out of my bed now. She might have heard him.'

"Darn you, peasant." I said, as a grimace started to form on my face, "Do you know that you are weaker than me?"

"Someone up here doesn't care at all." Tito replied in a disdainful tone, that made veins pop out on my forehead.

I really feel like punching him in the head.

"Haa..." I sighed. I have gotten used to Tito, and so has he gotten used to me, "Seriously, we should think of ways to rescue Encender. No one has ever come back alive after not returning to the cell after lunch hours."

Tito made a loud, boring yawn and spoke in a drowsy voice, "Seriously, you should start making solutions to saving Encender. A prince like you should gladly do so."

"..."

Just what is going on with him? From the way he is wiggling on the bed, I can tell that he is one hundred percent awake.

So why is he acting like a slothful donkey?

'Didn't he try to tell Tsuyoi that he has changed? Was that all a ploy to be in her good graces?'

I might be thankful to Tito for helping me find meaning in my immortal life, yet I still don't trust him.

Tito is like a viper. The type to lay eggs and never once care about them. Sometimes, he might even eat them.

Somehow, the man in question had insight about the staff in my mind, "Don't worry about Encender too much. She is okay. However, I am not sure if Tsuyoi is going to be."

"What? How do the two mix together? Tsuyoi is safe here with us. What could possibly happen to her?"

Bam—!

Tito jumped over to the cold floor, as he stated, "I am not so sure about that. There are many universes out there, and a lot of things can happen. Sometimes without even one of us guessing about it."

"..."

What is he talking about? Is he on drugs or something?

Seeing that I was planning to ignore him, Tito immediately switched to another topic, "Look at this. Both of the girls are awake. Meron, please don't even try to move for now."

"Understood." The Alien replied with a voice that sounded more like birds chirping, "Thank you for saving my life, men."

'Men? So she still hates the other gender, huh?'

I finally walked out of my bed trying to figure out why Tito was only glaring at Meron without even saying a thing.

However, I soon became the same the moment I laid my eyes upon her.

"...."

Just what in the hell happened to her? Where did all the muscles go? Why does she look so gorgeous?

The more I stared at her, the faster my heart started racing for her. It felt like looking at a divine being from the heavens above.

"She is so beautiful!"

"Pervert," Tito commented with a voice filled with revulsion, which unexpectedly made me grit my teeth.

"At least I have feelings, unlike a certain somebody. Do you swing that way, perhaps?"

"So what if I do?"

I really can't stand this guy. I wish he would stay in his pitiful slumber. Why did I even take care of him?

Chuu—!

Out of nowhere, the bars of our cell suddenly went up, capturing all of our attention. This also caused Tsuyoi to open her eyes.

"What are you doing here, Cain Harasat?" she asked with a fierce look as she stood up.

The man wearing a shining black suit smiled. "Don't make such a face, my dear. As your future husband, it is only natural for me to find you wherever you go."

My face twisted at the end of his brittle voice. Nonetheless, Tito quickly grabbed my hand to stop me from taking further action.

"This is personal. Let her handle it," he whispered in my ear.

The pink-haired dark man smirked at the corner of his lips. "If you want your friend back, then you have to come with me."

Which friend is he talking about? Is he referring to Encender?

Oblivious to what's going on in my head, Tsuyoi got out of her bed with a serious expression on her face.

"Fine then, I will go with you."

I wanted to speak, but Tito closed my mouth and watched the man, who could rival me in looks, walk out of the cell.

Tsuyoi followed behind in silence, and when she was out of the cell, she turned back to look at us. Her small face twisted in sadness, and tears streamed down her cheeks.

"Everyone, it was nice meeting you. I really had a great time together with all of you."
