Chapter 15 - THE GANGSTER LADY

"For your wedding gown, how would you like it?" The

Eisley stood there utterly confused. Her last wedding, her mother-in-law, and her sister-in-law were in charge of everything. She was just made to attend the wedding.

Eisley turned to Irwin beside her. They had finished checking out the wedding hall. It was now time for the check out the wedding dress and Irwin's suit.

"Can't we have something simple, not too simple, something outstanding?" Eisley said while playing with her fingers nervously.

The lady looked at Irwin, "Ugh, okay. Would you like to check out some of the wedding gowns at the back? Maybe you can put on some," she suggested.

Eisley stood up gently, and Irwin attention finally poured on her. "Hey," he held her hands.

"Oh, I'm going in for a quick check," she said, Irwin brows lifted, and his gaze narrowed to the attendee.

"Okay," he said, letting go of her fingers.

As Eisley got into the room, her lips parted at the hundreds of dresses in the room. She turned to the lady, confusion beaming through her meadow green eyes.

"Am I to pick from this— here... all these?" The lady nodded. A whisper sigh slipped through her lips, and she bit her lower lips incredibly nervous.

"If you have a problem picking, why don't we give you our magazine, and you can take your time to pick out the one you would like,"

Eisley nodded. If she had suggested this. It could have been much better, and she wouldn't be all shaky to make a decision.

"Alright, I'll prepare one for you," Eisley nodded with a smile. She turned to leave when a woman's voice interrupted.

"Who would have thought I would find the great Irwin Kent at a bridal shop?" Eisley paused when she recognised the voice. Her eyes widened, and her feet took a step until she could see the lady. It was her, Tessa Richardson. She hid, listening to their conversation.

However, Irwin remained silent.

"Where is she? Your new toy,"

"Watch what you say, Tessa," his cold tone sliced through the air.

"Am I not right?" Tessa sighed heavily. "Where is she is she testing her gown? I am jealous. When I was supposed to check my gown. You never accompanied me, but here you are,"

"What do you want, Tessa?" Irwin asked with displeasure in his voice.

"You. I want you, forget her, let's get married, I promise to be nice,"

Eisley's mind raced with disbelief, her lips parted, and she almost scoffed. Despite the curiosity to come out of her hiding spot, she reluctantly hid listening.

"Tessa, this is the last time I will warn you. Whatever we had was in the past."

"What was it? Was it in front of her husband, or was it behind his back?"

"Your husband is he still in hiding after framing me?" Eisley eyes gaped. Frame? What was he talking about?

"You should have taken care of him. You should because once I find where he is, I promise not to have mercy. You could turn to a widow soon,"

Eisley peeped at them. She couldn't believe the conversation unfolding before her. Her eyes shifted to Irwin. Her heart was racing with an unbelievable amount of fear, depth sending a shiver down her spine.

Tessa frowned, glaring at Irwin, who sat with his legs crossed. His tablets were still in his hands.

"I am the only one who can understand your past, Irwin, you know that. I can save you from your mother,"

Irwin cold eyes glimmered with a dangerous light, "Are you going to leave, or do you need my men to escort you outside? My lady would soon be here," Irwin's gaze deadlier than the sharpiest dagger piercing through one's soul.

Tessa smiled awkwardly, her gaze shifting to the men who were ready to throw her out. Her smile disappeared, "I love you, Irwin, stop being stubborn. I'll leave you for now, I came here for something more important,"

She walked away, and silence followed. Eisley hid, instinctively shutting her eyes.

What had she put herself, though? What has she done going against a psychopath like Tessa.

"How long are you going to be hiding, Eisley?" Irwin asked. Eisley's eyes flung open, a shudder coursed through her. She remained hidden for a while before walking out fearlessly.

Her eyes wandered around, avoiding his gaze. "Oh, I didn't— I was— I didn't listen," her voice shook, and her knees fumbled.

Eisley's gaze met Irwins, and she swallowed heavily. Her heart was still racing uncontrollably.

Irwin's gaze turned warmer. He looked at Morgan back at Eisley. "Is that all? Where's your gown?"

"Oh," Eisley swallowed and looked back. Finally, there was the attendee walking towards them with a package.

"Here it is, Miss Mercer, I'm sorry for the delay. We had to package it up. I hope you like the wedding gown and visit our shop,"

Eisley nodded. "Sure, I will."

Irwin gave Morgan a sign to take the bag from the attendee. His hands craned to her back, holding her softly. Eisley looked up at him. The glacier in his eyes seemed to have washed off, replaced with a calm blankness.

Her heart raced erratically. He began walking, helping her out of the building as soon they got to the parking lot. He opened the car door and she got in. He closed the door, walking to the other side, Morgan opened the door, and he got in.

"About," Eisley began to speak. Guilt ate her up for listening, and he seemed calm about it. She couldn't tell if he was mad it made her anxious.

"Mr Kent," Morgan interrupted. "Robert asked me to relay a message. He said Mr Johnson wouldn't want to pay and is making a scene at your office,"

"Magnus?" Irwin asked, Eisley looked away, her lips pressed together tightly.

"He hasn't been reachable. Robert can't seem to reach him he has been out of the radar,"

"Find someone to find him, I don't have time for all this, and take me to the office,"

"Yes, sir," Morgan replied. Eisley looked through the rearview mirror, and Morgan's gaze immediately shifted.

The car fell silent, and the silence gragged on until they arrived at Irwin's office. Irwin got out and walked to the other side of the car, and he opened the car.

"Won't you get down?" Eisley glanced at him apologetically. "Do you need me to help you down?"

Eisley slowly got out of the car, and he shut the door and pushed his hands into his pocket following Morgan.

Eisley looked up at the seven storey building. She had never been at his workplace before. This was her first time here. She held her bag tightly, following behind him.

As they got into the building, people bowed as Irwin walked through with his head held high. The sight was incredible and unexpected, but it made him look so powerful and hot.

"Mr Kent, we weren't expecting you,"

"Where is he?" He looked around, but a man's voice echoed the voice.

"Where is your so-called CEO! I told you he was a scam, how dare him scam me! Why won'the come out, huh!!" The middle-aged man screamed, causing everyone to be so uncomfortable.

Robert ran towards Irwin, and he whispered something in his ears. Irwin reached out to Morgan, and he pulled a gum out, handing it to him.

Eisley gasped, eyes widened. She shut her lips instantly, "Take her to my office, and I want everyone out,"

"Yes, Sir," Robert looked at Eisley, but she took a step backwards.

"Can't I just stay here?" She asked, Irwin and Robert looked at each other and turned to Eisley.

"Eisley," Irwin called. The way her name rolled off his tongue was enchanting like a spell.

"Let me, please," Her voice was weak. Her doe eyes looked so determined.

A low chuckled escaped Irwin's lips as his green eyes assessed her like a meal but with warmth.

"Mr Kent! How dare you!" The middle-aged man yelled, and Irwin immediately clicked the gun, shooting a jug of water while staring deep in Eisley's eyes.

Eisley flinched in fear, her heart leaving her for a brief second. Her feet moved backwards, her breath shaking. Irwin clicked the gun again, looking away and turning to the man.

His laughter bore a devilish quality. "Mr Johnson," he sighed, "You see my lady is here, let's be very gentle, you already scared the fuck out of her,"

Eisley looked at Mr Johnson and the fear in his eyes met hers. She swallowed, gripping her bag tightly, watching them.

"Did you say I scammed you? Our deal where says you have refused to pay your loan, why don't you want to, Mr Johnson?" Hard edge crept his voice.

"The police—" Mr Johnson stuttered.

Irwin nodded, "Of course, the police. I can help you phone them," the mockery in his voice. "Robert phone the police tell them what's going on, it's Mr Johnson last request," a devilish smile whined further across his face.
