Chapter 32 - Kai's Big Purchase

Kai looked at the teller, and she said, "Uh, you have an account here? You're so young."

Kai smiled confidently. "Yes, I have an account here. Here's my bank card." He presented his card to the teller. "You can look at the details."

The teller took the card and swiped it through the machine. She looked at the screen and raised an eyebrow. "Okay, let me see...yes, you have an account with us."

Kai waited patiently as the teller checked his account details. After a moment, she looked up at him. "I apologize, sir. Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade your account. We have three types of accounts: Basic, Platinum, and Diamond. The Basic account is our standard account, the Platinum account requires a minimum monthly transaction of Fifty Thousand Rand and a minimum salary of Two Hundred Thousand Rand per month. The Diamond account requires a minimum monthly transaction of Two Hundred Thousand Rand and a minimum salary of Five Hundred Thousand Rand per month."

Kai listened intently to the teller's explanation. "As I can see, you didn't have the required transactions for this month," the teller said.

Kai smiled. "Okay, so what if I put One Million Two Hundred Thousand Rand into my account right now?"

The teller's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, then you'll be eligible for the Diamond account."

Kai said, "Okay, I'll transfer Five Million Rand into this account."

The teller's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, where did you get this money? How did you get that money?"

Kai smiled confidently. "I'm a businessman."

The teller looked at him skeptically. "Really? You look so young. How can you have a business venture?"

Kai chuckled. "Just because I'm young doesn't mean I can't be in business. Age doesn't determine one's ability to succeed."

The teller looked at him, seemingly impressed by his response. "Yes, you're right. Okay, so can we do the transaction?"

Kai nodded. "Yes, let's do it."

But instead of transferring Five Million Rand, Kai decided to transfer Twenty Million Rand into his account. He typed away on his phone, and the transfer was complete.

As the teller refreshed the account details on her screen, Kai thought back to when Mister Reginald gave him the black card. Mister Reginald had told him that he could transfer money from the black card account to his bank account anytime, and he had given him the details on how to do it. Kai had noticed that the black card account had a limit of Ten Billion Rand, but Mister Reginald had told him that it was essentially unlimited.

Kai couldn't help but wonder how big Mister Reginald's revenue was that he could give him access to such a large amount of money.

The teller's voice brought Kai back to the present. "Uh, I think there's been a mistake," she said, staring at the screen in shock.

Kai raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong, miss?"

The teller looked up at him, her eyes wide with surprise. "There's...there's Fifty Million Rand in your account."

Kai smiled calmly. "Is that a problem?"

The bank teller smiled and said, "No, no, that's not a problem, sir. Any amount is welcome."

Kai nodded, and they finished the process. Mike, who had been quietly observing from his seat, thought to himself, "Wow, Kai really has that much money in his account. And all this time, he's been doing all these generous things for me, like giving me a car and buying me phones."

Kai turned to the teller and asked, "Are we done?"

The teller nodded and handed him a sleek black card. "Yes, yes, sir. This is your new Diamond account card."

Kai took the card and examined it. The teller explained, "With this account, you'll get exclusive benefits such as unlimited transactions, a dedicated account manager, and access to our VIP lounge. You'll also get a credit limit of up to Five Million Rand."

Kai smiled, satisfied. "Okay, thank you."

The teller smiled back. "You're welcome, sir."

Kai and Mike stood up, and they left the bank. Outside, Kai walked back to his car, and Mike walked to his own car.

"Let's go buy some home theatre systems. I want to check out some TVs at Hi-Fi Corporation."

Mike nodded enthusiastically. "Sounds like a plan, bro."

As they drove their cars to the town, they arrived at Hi-Fi Corporation, a popular electronics store. The exterior of the store was sleek and modern, with large glass windows showcasing the latest TVs and gadgets. The parking lot was spacious, and Kai and Mike parked their cars next to each other.

As they entered the store, they were greeted by a friendly saleswoman. However, her gaze lingered on Mike's stylish outfit, and she barely acknowledged Kai's presence. Mike, dressed in the designer clothes they had bought together during their shopping spree, seemed to command her attention.

The saleswoman approached Mike and said, "Hello, sir. How may I help you?" Mike politely replied, "No, I'm just here with my friend. He's going to browse and shop."

The saleswoman's eyes widened in surprise, and she turned her attention to Kai. "Hello, sir. How may I help you? What do you want today?" Kai smiled and said, "I'm looking for a flat-screen TV, maybe a 70-inch or 108-inch model that can stream YouTube. And I'd also like a home theatre system with an amplifier."

The saleswoman nodded enthusiastically and showed him the available options. "This 108-inch TV is Thirty-Two Thousand Rand, and the home theatre system is Twenty-Five Thousand Rand."

As Kai considered his options, the saleswoman thought to herself, "I wonder if he can afford it. Let's see if he can put up an act."

Kai made his decision and said, "I'll take both." The saleswoman raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Kai's confidence.

As they proceeded to the checkout counter, the saleswoman asked, "Will you be paying cash or using your account?" Kai replied, "I'll pay cash."

The saleswoman's eyes widened as Kai pulled out his black Diamond account card. Kai thought to himself, "Let me test this card and see if it works." He swiped the card, and the saleswoman's eyes nearly popped out of her head in shock.

As Kai finished the transaction, the saleswoman's eyes sparkled with surprise. "Okay, sir, as you're a first-time customer, we'll give you a 10% discount."

Kai smiled politely. "Thank you."

The saleswoman thought to herself, "I thought he was putting up an act. I thought he was coming with his friend, and his friend would be the one buying. But now, he's buying, and his name is on the receipt."

Kai snapped her back to reality. "I'd like to have these items delivered to Oakwood Hills."

The saleswoman's eyes widened as she processed the address. "Oakwood Hills? Isn't that a high-end residence with houses up to Five Point Seven Million Rand?" she thought to herself. "Wow, this boy's background is too deep. And today, he just bought a home theatre system without batting an eye."

The saleswoman composed herself and handed Kai the receipt. "Just sign here, please."

Kai signed the papers, and the saleswoman handed him a copy of the receipt. "Have a nice day, sir."

Kai smiled. "You too, miss."

As they left the store, other salespeople approached Kai, eager to offer their assistance. One saleswoman even asked Kai out on a date. "Hello, sir. Would you like to take me out to dinner?"

Kai politely declined. "Sorry, I'm busy. I don't have time for that."

The saleswoman looked taken aback, thinking to herself, "What guy doesn't want to take a girl out to dinner? Look at me!"

As Kai and Mike drove away from the electronics store, they headed to a music store. Kai texted Mike, "Bro, we're going to a music store. I'm gonna buy myself a piano."

They arrived at the Music Academy store, a popular music store in the area. The exterior of the store had a sleek design, with large glass windows showcasing various musical instruments.

As they entered the store, they were greeted by a friendly saleswoman. The store was filled with a wide range of musical instruments, including pianos, guitars, drums, and more.

Kai approached the saleswoman and said, "Hi, I'm here to buy a piano, maybe some microphones, and speakers."

The saleswoman smiled. "Great choice! We have a fantastic range of pianos from various brands. We have the Yamaha U1, which is one of our most affordable options, starting at around R150,000. We also have the Steinway & Sons Model D, which is one of our high-end options, starting at around R2.5 million."

Kai browsed through the pianos, and Mike looked around in awe. "Wow, look at these guitars, look at these pianos!"

Kai sat down at a corner and picked up a guitar. "Can I test this guitar?" he asked the saleswoman.

She nodded. "Of course, go ahead."

Kai began to play a beautiful melody, and the store fell silent. People stopped what they were doing and listened in amazement.

Just then, Alexander walked into the store and spotted Kai. "Kai, is that you?" he exclaimed.

Kai looked up and smiled. "Alexander, nice meeting you here."

Alexander walked over to Kai. "You can play the guitar too? You're a man of many talents!"
