Chapter 23 - Unyielding Love(The past )

Hybrid Empire

"How was your night, my queen," King Xandor Moonshadow of the hybrid Empire greeted his wife, Valoria, as they sat in the grand dining halls of the palace. Valoria, eight months pregnant at the time, felt a sense of anticipation fill the air. The entire kingdom eagerly awaited the arrival of their heir, but none were as excited as King Xandor himself. His enthusiasm was contagious, spreading to the servants and all those around him.

"It was a peaceful night, Xandor. But when I woke up, you were not by my side. Where did you go?" Valoria inquired, taking a bite of a succulent fruit. As she did, a gentle kick from the baby inside her caused her to pause and tenderly rub her stomach.

"I went to the temple of the goddess to offer prayers for the safe delivery of our child," Xandor replied, his face beaming with joy. Valoria raised an eyebrow in amusement, finding it hard to believe that her husband, who had never shown much faith in the gods, had now become a devout believer. She suppressed a laugh, feeling a deep sense of happiness about this change in him.

Before Valoria could say anything further, the doors to the dining hall swung open, revealing the imposing figures of Thalorn Moonshadow, Xandor's father, and the high dowager. Valoria's heart skipped a beat as she rose to her feet, meeting her father-in-law's gaze filled with disdain. Her mind raced, wondering why he had come, and why he had brought the high dowager along with him.

"Father, why have you come here without informing me of your arrival at the distant Citadel of Eldoria? I would have greeted you at the gate," King Xandor exclaimed, his voice resonating through the grand dining hall as he rose from his seat. His smile did not reach his eyes, which betrayed his confusion. The tension between him and the high Dowager was palpable, as they had never seen eye to eye. The high Dowager had always opposed Xandor's new rules and resented his appointment of a new Dowager, replacing Zephyrath Nightwing, the former high Dowager and his father.

"Xandor, we need to talk," Thalorn said sternly, devoid of any smile. Zephyrath, the former high Dowager, smirked as they both turned and walked away, leaving Xandor bewildered. A sense of dread settled in his stomach, signaling that something was amiss.

Queen Valoria took her seat, feeling shaky and weak. She forced a smile as she looked at her husband, placing her hand on top of his cold one. She knew why her father-in-law and Zephyrath were there, and the thought of what was to come pained her deeply.

"Don't cry, my love," Xandor said as he approached his wife, kneeling before her. Their love was legendary in the kingdom, evident in the way he gently wiped away her tears with a smile on his face.

"They want to tear us apart, Xandor, and I don't know if I can bear it," Valoria whispered, seeking solace in her husband's eyes. He lifted her chin, gazing deeply into her eyes as he reassured her.

"Know this, dear Valoria, that Xandor will never abandon you. You are his entire world, the center of his universe. The whispers of the servants reveal that the king, in his past, was never as devoted as Xandor is to you. He was merely a puppet in the hands of his father, always neglected by his own family. But when he chose you over all the other princesses, something ignited within him, and you shattered his world, Valoria. He will never leave your side, and even the gods themselves will not allow it.

As they made their way towards her chambers, Elowen spoke those words, her voice filled with sincerity. And when they finally reached her chamber door, Elowen gently placed her hand on valoria's shoulder, offering a comforting smile. Without warning, valoria embraced her, and though she initially stiffened, she soon returned the hug, feeling the gentle nudges of the queen's swollen stomach. A smile graced her lips, a testament to the bond they shared.

"Sleep well, my queen," Elowen said as valoria entered her chamber. Valoria closed the door behind her, the weight of valoria's responsibilities settling upon heavily on her shoulders. Her gaze fell upon the gown, adorned with shimmering gold and silver threads, depicting mythical creatures and acts of bravery. It had been worn by queens before her, carrying with it a legacy. As she folded it with care, memories flooded her mind, reminding her of the path she now tread.

With a sigh, she exchanged the ornate gown for a simpler silk robe, finding solace in its gentle touch against her skin. She knew that ahead lay challenges, but she drew strength from the love of her husband and the heritage of her ancestors.

Before surrendering to the embrace of sleep, valoria placed a small cushion on the floor, facing the window. Kneeling upon it, she rested her hand against the cool glass, gazing at the luminous moon. Closing her eyes, she began her prayers, seeking guidance and protection for the journey that lay ahead.

"Moon Goddess Sera, watch over my child, my husband and me, Lead us through the night and day, serene and free, Give us the strength, courage, and grace, To confront any challenges we face. Shower us with your divine light, Until the dawn breaks, aligning stars bright." Valoria whispered, her eyes opening slowly as she rose from the floor, her hand resting on her swollen stomach.

The pain she had felt in the dining hall returned, sharper and more intense, almost bringing her to her knees. Slowly making her way to the bed, she crawled on and lay down, her hand gently soothing the ache as her eyes drifted shut, succumbing to the darkness.

Then suddenly she woke up to Someone peppering kisses on her face and neck, then Valoria felt water drop on her cheeks, she blinked her eyes open to find the room shrouded in darkness.

"Xandor," she asked, reaching up to touch his cheek, feeling the dampness on her fingers.

"What's the matter, Xandor?" she asked as she felt her undergarment being lifted up but she decided to save the conversation for later. She knew her husband's needs, offering herself to him as a way to release his frustrations. Whatever had transpired between him and his father must have been serious.

He plunged into her with a fierce intensity, Valoria's expression became a mix of desire, need, and surrender. Her eyes met Xandon's piercing purple gaze, filled with a brightness that seemed almost otherworldly and she moaned loudly, her breaths coming out in puffs.

"You like this." He taunted "watching me wreck your pussy while you make a mess all over my cock?"

Her lungs wouldn't get enough oxygen for her to respond with anything other than a strangled noise.

The fucking was too intense, and all she wanted was for him to keep going, to push her further and further until she crashed to the cliff looming ahead.

"I'm the only one who gets to have and see you Like this" his voice turned harsh. "You"- thrust -"are"- thrust- "my"-"wife"

The force of his fucking increased with each word until the last plunged pushed her forward,.

"M..my lord are you alright, you are scaring me." Valoria managed out of the thundering beat of her heart.

Xandor grip tightened around her throat. "They can't take you away." He said darkly, wetness dropping to her face, then she realized that xandor was crying.

"You are mine" he dragged his cock out slowly, letting Valoria feel every inch of him, before slamming it back in, electric sensations shut through her, turning her body into a live wire.

"Do they think I'll ever let you go or let our.....?" He whispered, his movements growing more urgent until he found release inside her. Valoria's tears were not of joy, but of realization that her worst fears had come true.

As Xandor collapsed beside her, Valoria's heart raced with anticipation, waiting for an explanation from her husband. She could sense the weight of his burden, the tension in his body palpable even in the dim light of their chamber.

"What did your father say, Xandor?" Valoria demanded, her voice trembling with a mixture of fear and defiance.

Xandor hesitated, his expression pained as he recounted the words of the high dowager. "He claimed that the gods had sent him visions, declaring our child to be cursed. He believes we must... get rid of it."

Valoria's breath caught in her throat, her mind reeling at the enormity of the revelation. Anger surged through her, fierce and unrelenting, as she clutched desperately at her husband's hand.

"Never," she whispered, her voice trembling with rage. "Our child is not cursed. I refuse to believe it. I will protect our baby with every ounce of strength in my body."

Tears streamed down her cheeks, a mixture of sorrow and fury, as she raged against the injustice of it all. How could anyone dare to suggest such a thing? How could they threaten the life of their innocent child? And Valeria new that wasn't the only thing they had told her husband to do.

Xandor pulled her close, his arms offering what little comfort they could in the face of such devastation. Together, they clung to each other, their hearts entwined in a bond that could not be broken.

"No matter what they say," Xandor vowed, his voice firm with determination, "we will face this together. Our love will protect our child, no matter what challenges lie ahead."
