Chapter 2 - Demon King (2)

[Do you need our help?]

Huh? What is this? Is this a new type of magic? I tried to touch it, but my hand only passed through.

Maybe it's a test? So I said "yes," and then the message disappeared, and a new one came.

[Good, I thought you'd reject us.]

This mysterious entity became a bit more excited; I could tell since the screen is shaking so much.

[Tell the beastmen to open the gates for Echidona.]

Should I do as they say? I can't trust it for sure. I had only seen it once, so I don't really need to trust this thing.

I sat on the grassy field while the beastmen looked at me with silence.

[Come on, just say it, please!]

[It will really help you.]

[Only we know what's best for you, so say it.]

Is it just me, or are these messages multiplying? There were a few more messages that appeared and they swarmed me while I sat.

"Shut up!" I yelled suddenly; the beastmen were also surprised by my shout.

The messages dwindled, but a few still persisted.

[I won't stop if you don't say it]

"Ah, fine, just shut up, okay?" I looked at the beastmen and shouted, "Open the gates for Echidona."

The beastmen who heard this were perplexed; their jaws dropped.

"Open the gates!" the scarred beastman ordered his men.

And I went into the village, and it was only good fortune from that moment as I followed the messages.

*****

[Esmond, let's take a walk.]

"Wait, I just need to change my clothes."

[Can I see?]

"Hell no!" It's been two years since I entered that beastmen village. After talking to the chief of that village, I stayed there and worked on my affairs.

And of course, using my status as the hero, I climbed my way to the top in just two years. And now, here I am, the new demon king of the eastern region, but I called it the demonic region.

[Esmond, hurry up!]

Oh, and this message has been bothering me for quite some time. As time passed, I learned more and more about these messages. They are sort of like a system.

I can see how strong I am, my speed, and my strength. The one thing that shocked me was knowing that these messages came from the Gods.

Though it's pretty hard to believe since these messages act like they are literally crazy fangirls, but I guess I'm too famous even for the Gods.

At first, there were a few messages that came to me. I mostly ignored them and only listened to the ones that were actually believable.

And there are 7 Gods left that kept on sending the system-like message. Most of them provide information and tips, but some are freaking weird like this one.

[Damn it, hurry up!]

Yup, this one is the yandere type, so I did hurry up and got suited up and took a walk in the city as the demon king. I intended to make cities all over the eastern regions for demons and non-humanoid beings.

The rest are still being built, but so far we've made about 4 major cities, and the one I'm currently in will be the capital of the Demon region.

"Good morning, your majesty!"

"Good morning, your highness!"

"Good morning, demon king," these words filled the streets as I walked, and this wasn't out of fear but out of respect and gratitude. Seeing this made me feel good.

[Are you enjoying this?]

"Of course I am. My own people are greeting me every morning."

[I'm glad you're happy.]

"Oohhh, is someone blushing right now?"

[Shut up. Can't I just be, you know, happy for you?]

I smiled. The Gods helped me tremendously in making everything possible, so I just accept their requests if necessary.

"Oi, damn you Leticia, who said you could take Esmond for a date today?"

And here she comes, the other goddess just arrived. Is what we call a tsundere; she's acting tough, but she is scared inside.

"Isn't it my turn, though? So please, let me have Esmond for today."

And if there's a tsundere, there's also a yandere. This will be fun to watch, even though it's just messages talking to each other.
