In the outskirts of the tall mansion, Joe sat in one corner of the building. He was watching his siblings play ball with themselves.
And then, something happened.
Korra; one of Joe's siblings, played the ball out of the field. When Joe saw this, he excitedly stood on his feet to pick it up.
"Don't you dare lay your stinky hand on that ball!" Joe shot a glare at him. He was angered by his words. It was as if he should pounce on him.
And when Korra felt Joe was showing emotions, that got him angry. He moved closer to him and he slammed down the ball Joe held in his hand.
He looked straight into his eyes. "And what will you do? Hit me?" "Gosh… the thought of that only, irked me."
While those harsh words crawled out of Korra's mouth, Mrs Wilson came looking for Joe. She sighted him from afar and she called his name.
"Joe!" Piercing Joe's ear, he shot a deadly glare at Korra but he took his leave.
Getting in front of Mrs Wilson. "I got this for you."
Korra and the other siblings witnessed this and that incited their hate.
"I so much hate Joe. He is being given all the care while we the rest are being treated like a piece of garbage. I feel like having his head… argh!"
The irritation was obvious.
Joe was hated by his siblings because of the love their parents showed Joe. They believed their parents were being biased because Joe was just an adopted son.
As if the hate wasn't enough, Joe's siblings did something that twisted his fate forever.
On that day Joe went to school. It was more like a usual day until he was left alone with a young lady in his classroom. Her name was Naomi.
He wasn't aware of the woe that was about to befall him.
Naomi stood up from her desk. Her long, black hair blocked her sight. She waved it backwards and wiggled her hair. She was in a school uniform; short and a mini skirt.
She loosened the bottom of her school uniform slightly and she walked towards Joe.
Sounds of her feet called Joe to a halt. He raised his head and when he beheld what was coming for him, he froze at the beautiful sight.
Naomi knew he was trapped. She came near him and touched him at every point.
Joe got a hold of himself. He snapped out of it. He pushed her backwards.
"What are you doing?" Joe looked at her agitated.
She smirked. "What does it look like?"
Joe's eyes met with hers. "I am not interested in this. I have to take my leave."
Joe stood on his feet to take his leave, but something shocking happened.
Naomi tore her clothings and she grabbed Joe. Naomi shouted on the top of her voice. "Rape! He is raping me."
That scream was what made her mates heard and they all rushed into the class. They got hold of Joe and when he tried to explain, no one listened to him.
Joe was dragged to the disciplinary committee. His parents were called.
When they appeared, they looked at Joe with disappointment.
"How dare you try to rape a lady? Joe. Upon everything I did for you. I am disappointed."
"I… I didn't touch her. This was all a set up."
Hearing him deny the obvious got his father angry and he slapped him.
"Don't you dare say a word again."
Joe's world tore apart in his face and he could do nothing about it.
"Due to what your son did. We will have to arraign him in court."
Joe's father sighed. He thought of every way possible to get his son out of that mess. "Can't we resolve it amicably?"
"I am sorry sir. We can't do that. The lady in question is from an influential family and her parents wanted the matter to be in court. This matter is far beyond us."
Mr Wilson stood still for a moment after hearing those words. There was nothing he could do.
Joe met a deadly fate at the final pronouncement in the court of law.
"Joe, you are hereby sentenced to 5 years imprisonment with hard labor."
Joe couldn't believe his ears. Afterall, he was innocent. How could the world be this cruel?
His eyes widened with shock and his heart beat hard against his chest, but this was just the beginning of his torment.
After five years imprisonment. Joe was now 24 years of age. His so-called parents didn't come to pick him up when he was out. He found his way back home.
On getting home, he regretted the day he was born to this world.
His father was relaxing in the sitting room when he stepped into the house.
The opening of the door made his father raise his head. On seeing it was Joe, he stood on his feet.
"Father. I am back." instead of his father to receive him with a warm hug, he shot a deadly glare at him.
"I hope those few years in prison have made you come back to your senses."
"My senses were right, father. I did nothing wrong. I was put to prison unjustly."
Joe's father grinded his teeth and he tightened his fist in anger.
"You are still saying you are innocent after all the evidence against you? You are such a disappointment. I shouldn't have picked you up from the street. I regret the day I adopted you as my son."
Those words were harsh. When it pierced Joe's ear, he swallowed the saliva in his lungs. His countenance fell.
"There is nothing I say that will make you believe me. I hope that one day, the truth will prevail. I am leaving this house for good. I can't continue staying under your roof. Thank you for everything."
Joe's father enveloped those words. The hate within him intensified. 'I can't believe he hasn't gotten his senses back after spending five good years in prison. Maybe leaving my roof would get him his senses.' He thought in his head.
"Suit yourself." Those were the last words that oozed from his father's lips.
Joe packed all his properties and he left.
Little did Joe know that the decision he made that day would turn out to be his worst nightmare.
