Chapter 180 - Chapter 180 - Gregory's Smartness and Russell's Ethical Brutality

Third person POV

Luckily, at 4:12 p.m., Russell arrived at Carelis, only for him and his party and passengers onboard to be shocked at the destruction and chaos the bandits were causing in the town. There was pillaging, hurting and attacking of civilians, and burning of some buildings. Russell was scared, not wanting to open the door for the Carelis-bound passengers. He was right because one of the passengers petitioned him not to open the door in fear that the bandits might come and harm them, much to Russell's relief. Meanwhile, Gregory was on the rooftop of a 3-story tenement building, manning and operating one of his weapons that was made thanks to his knowledge of physics, taking down some of the bandits. But it wasn't enough, so Russell, angry and cold at the bandits for raiding the town, decided to do his usual, strange way of getting rid of his enemies: ram them with his bus. So, with sheer determination, he readjusted his bus driver's cap and said to everyone onboard, "Everyone, hold on. I'll be clearing this town of this thieving degenerate."

Russell then shifted his gear to Drive and stepped on the gas pedal, accelerating the bus to high speed.

Everyone onboard was taken aback by this and held on their seats.

So, Russell went through some attacking and assaulting bandits and rammed them. The other surviving bandits were shocked and looked at him, causing their would-be victims to run away. "You better stop this," Russell said to them through the bus's built-in speakers, "or I'll do this the hard way."

But the bandits were angry and refused to be deterred.

 "No!"

 "You'll pay for this!"

The three bandits then wielded their weapons and charged at the front of his bus.

Russell knew this would happen and rammed his bus straight at them, killing them in seconds.

Everyone onboard was taken aback, but Russell's party was amazed at his usual method of getting rid of stubborn criminals and bad people.

 "That's what these bozos get!"

 "Yay! Go Russell-kun!"

Shortly after, while Gregory was shooting his simple, makeshift, non-bullet Gatling gun, Russell drove into the area, ramming the bandits and some of their horses to their deaths. Gregory was stunned with surprise, seeing Russell's bus in its action mode and that cemented his belief that the stories of the Bus Driver Hero as true. "Woah…" Gregory's mind commented in awe, "…Russell was very skillful…"

So, with that boosted his determination to save the town, Gregory reloaded his Gatling weapon with rocks and fired them at the remaining bandits while screaming like a madman. "Take that, you fucking thieves!"

At the same time, Russell stopped and opened the door, saying to his party, "Guys, help out taking down the other bad guys. I'll do my part here."

His party agreed and got off with their gear to take down some of the bandits, scattering to do so. Azalea used her ice magic to freeze and strike some of the armed thieves, while Rai, Ria, and Kelly worked together as Silver Dragons to take down the rest of the bandits more effectively. Russell did his part in the fight with his bus as his passengers held on inside and watched the fight that would save the town from the raiding criminals.

But, all of them were a ruse because a cult member from the Square Order of the Squirrels had managed to break into the Archives Library of Carelis' Home of the Fourth Hero, Andreas Ans the Lightning Hero, and stole the fourth Forbidden Fragment while the place was left unguarded and vulnerable to attacks, before fleeing the place with his dark magic. The bandits were actually paid by the dark cult to do so. At the same time, Jaria happened to be in town when the bandits attacked it and responded by attacking and taking down some of them, creating a part in the fight.
