Third person POV
A bit later, at 4:45 p.m., the chaos caused by the bandits was over. Dead bodies and broken equipment and weapons littered the streets. Fires set on some buildings had been snuffed out, but charred marks were left on them. The remaining bandits either fled and retreated or were captured by the town guards. Russell and his team had managed to quell and stop the bandits from destroying and raiding the town. Women who were abducted by the outlaws were now in safe hands of their loved ones and friends. Jaria had just finished off the remaining bandit with her dagger, and Russell saw that. Russell then pulled over and got off, going towards her. "Woah, Jaria-chan, you're here, too?"
Jaria was a bit startled by his words and voice and turned towards him with her hood on. "Oh, Russell-kun…"
"Yes, it's me," replied the Renad bus driver back, before looking at the dead bandit beside her. "Did you just slaughtered that bastard?"
Jaria then looked sheathed her dagger and looked at the dead corpse and back at Russell. "Yes, I was lucky to be here at this hour."
Russell was dumbfounded but commended her part in the fight against the bandits.
And as the townspeople, as well as Russell's friends, were cleaning the battlefield, Russell said to Jaria with some enthusiasm, "You're so cool!" Jaria was taken aback and blushed a bit. "Y-Yes, I also took down a couple of these bad guys, too."
"What? Amazing!"
"Uh…thanks…"
Seeing that made Azalea, Rai, and Ria jealous and envious of Jaria, and Gregory and Kelly were taken aback by this. Kelly tried to be respectful of her human/Renad friend and calm their anger and jealousy, while Gregory was distraught with a nervous chuckle. "Well, it's gonna be a rivalry and fight for a place as Russell's future wife…" his mind said.
Gregory was interested in getting married to pass his abilities, knowledge, and expertise to a future generation but had no one to be with, so he decided to put that aside for a while and enjoy his life as a single person.
Also, he came to know Jaria from Russell and met her in person.
After that, the mayor said thank you to Russell, Gregory, and their friends for saving his town and offered a big reward in the form of money and some material things like gemstones and silverware. Russell and his team considered that as too much, and Russell, Jaria, and Gregory asked him to lower the amount, saying that they and their friends didn't need that much rewards and money for their fight against the bandits. In respect, the mayor granted their request and lowered the rewards a bit. Russell and his team then accepted it, much to the joy of everyone in town.
Shortly after that, all of them had a late afternoon feast in the streets with food, water, and booze to celebrate their victory against the bandits. Russell ate and drank a lot with his friends, especially Gregory, who loved drinking alcohol even in his previous life. The town's atmosphere was lively and full of fun. Gregory commented on how Russell was ethical in his brutality of ramming his enemies with his bus, much to Russell's feelings of being overwhelmed by his compliments. But still, the rivalry of Russell's female friends and companions to Jaria still continues.
But then, while getting more wine from his wine cellar at the bottom of the town hall, the mayor was informed by a local official about the robbery of the fourth Forbidden Fragment at the Home of the Fourth Hero Andreas Ans the Lightning Hero. Shocked but not wanting to let that cause chaos and panic in his town, the mayor nodded and thanked the official for that news. Also, at the same time, Gregory had dismantled his simple Gatling Gun and helped out repair and dismantle other people's traps. Also, Russell and his team gained a lot of points for their fight against the bandits, much to their joyous victory and relief because of their combined effort and teamwork.
Also, Ester, who was watching the whole thing through an enchanted screen in his high hall, Ester was positive at more of Russell's acts of heroism. "Good job," his mind said. "I am very proud of you. I hope you'll advance more in that life…" Meanwhile, a figure from afar, the god of metals and machines named Mecanicus, was watching with stunning while wondering about his possible blessing for Russell having to do with Russell's skills and abilities. But in reality, gods like him, as well as goddesses, had no say in what abilities to be bestowed to Otherworlders before their next reincarnation cycles. That pantheon of deities can only give and provide such things, and Ester decides and bestows them to the Otherworlders.
