Chapter 1 - Prologue

In a dimly lit room, in the soft glow of candlelight, stood a boy of thirteen, his striking ice blue eyes reflecting the flickering flames with a mesmerizing intensity. His snow white hair cascaded in silken waves, framing his delicate features like an halo of frost. Dressed in a finely tailored suit of midnight blue velvet, adorned with intricate silver embroidery, he cut a figure of elegance and refinement beyond his years.

As he stood before the ornate mirror, his gaze lingered upon his reflection with a mixture of curiosity and pride. He straightened his jacket with a confident flourish, adjusting his silver cufflinks that adorned his wrists. A faint smile adorned his lips as he admired the subtle shimmer of the fabric and the way it complemented his pale complexion and ethereal hair.

Before he could continue admiring his reflection, he heard his sisters voice calling out to him

"Ash! Hurry up! Dads waiting in the limo" she called out, her tone tinged with urgency.

Looking at the clock, he saw that the time was 8:15 am, he was ten minutes late, causing him to breakout in a sweat. Hurrying out of his room, he moved through the twisting hallways before appearing at the top of the staircase.

At the door of the mansion, he saw his sister waiting for him with a slight smile on her face. Her blue eyes turning into crescents as she swiped away a strand of stray silver hair.

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" he shouted back before rushing down the stairs.

As Kayla watched her brother rush down the stairs with his youthful charms and innocence, she couldn't help but smile brighter, even as she felt a pang of impatience herself.

Their father, Mr. frostbourne stood by the open door of the sleek black limousine, his expression a mix of impatience and worry as he looked at the stopwatch in his hands.

"Hurry up you two, we've wasted enough time!" he called out, a sense of urgency in his voice.

Hearing the urgency in his father's voice gave ash more motivation to move faster. Reaching his sister at the door he couldn't help but apologize to her.

Together, Kayla and Ash hurried out of the mansion, their footsteps echoing against the marble floors as they as they made their way to the waiting limo. As they climbed inside, Mr. frostbourne hurried the driver to get going.

Seeing his father being tense, Ash couldn't help but ask his sister a question in a hushed tone.

"Where are we going that's got dad rushing like this? This is the first time I've seen him like this"

She looked at him before answering in the same hushed tone "I don't know, but he has been like this since yesterday. I guess we just have to wait to know where were going"

The limo pulled away from the curb, being surrounded by an entourage of black cars, leaving the grand mansion behind.

Seeing the mansion getting farther and farther away, Ash couldn't shake the feeling that this was the last time he was going to see his home.

"Come on, Thomas, we need to hurry up" his fathers voice urged the driver, cutting through the silence. 'We must reach the bunker before it's too late' he thought.

Thomas nodded solemnly, his hands gripping the steering wheel with determination as he navigated through the winding streets with haste. But as they approached a bustling intersection, their path was blocked by a throng of rioters and protesters, their voices raised in anger and defiance.

Mr. Frostbourne's jaw tightened with resolve as he assessed the situation, his gaze flickering with concern. "Find another route," he ordered the driver, his voice urgent. "We can't afford to be delayed any longer."

The driver nodded and quickly veered off course, taking a series of backstreets and alleyways in an attempt to circumvent the crowd. But just as they thought they had escaped the chaos, disaster struck.

With a deafening roar, the ground beneath them began to shake violently as a powerful earthquake rocked the city. Buildings rocked the city and debris rained down around them as panic erupted in the streets.

Trying to avoid the throng of people and falling debris, Thomas failed to notice a particularly large rock falling in the direction they were headed, until it was too late

*crash*

The huge rock fell on one part of the limo, causing that side to flatten, while the rest spilt apart, spiraling in different directions.

Ash's head throbbed as he slowly tried to open his eyes. Dust covered his already blurry vision, when he saw a silhouette heading his way, to reveal Thomas.

Seeing a familiar face, Ash gave in to his tiredness and passed out.

Seeing young master Ash pass out, Thomas ran to him, before holding him in his arms checking for any serious injuries. Seeing none he could finally heave a sigh of relief.

Taking his focus away from ash, Thomas looked at the huge lump of iron and concrete that once used to be a car. From the sides, one could see blood and other organs splattered around.

Pain could be seen in Thomas eyes as his once employer and old time friend had just met his end with his daughter. Taking his gaze from the wreckage, he once again looked at the young boy in his arms and couldn't help but feel a bit sad for the boy.

The sound of vehicles approaching brought him out of his thoughts, as men in black suits approached.

"Sir Thomas, are you alright? where is the lord and young missus? " One of the suited men asked as he got closer, only to see the sad look in Thomas's eyes.

Feeling something was wrong he looked towards the wreckage and finally understand what had happened.

"It wasn't your fault" he consoled feeling empty inside.

The sombre and silent atmosphere in the alleyway didn't match the chaos on the main roads, as people ran, buildings collapsed and looting commenced.

Coming back to his senses, Thomas realised that although this is a sad occurrence, they couldn't cope around here forever. Gently lifting the young ash, Thomas stood and spoke to his fellow men in arms.

"Although our lord is dead, we still have a duty to fulfil. Were to get young master Ash to a facility on the outskirts of the city before..." Pausing to check his watch, he continued "30 minutes. I hope you all can follow me and serve the young master as faithfully as we served his father."

The men in suits all stood at attention before flooding into the remaining cars, Thomas and Ash in tow.

Moving at dangerous speeds, the convoy swerved, hit and drove through any path that could allow the cars to pass, bulldozing through everything in their paths, although not without taking some losses.

Out of the surviving seven cars, only four remained by the time they reached their destination.

At the outskirts of town, close to mount Hakuna was a line of fancy black cars parked in order, while a lone guard decked out in full combat gear stood anxiously af if waiting for someone.

Filing out of the cars, the remaining guards of the Frost household were looking haggard, as the drive here had stressed them out of their minds.

Seeing the approaching group, the guard in combat gear suddenly pointed his gun towards them.

"This area is only accessible to authorised personnel, please turn back."

Seeing the seriousness in the guards eyes, Thomas passed Ash to one of his colleagues before stepping forward one.

"Were here with the last surviving member of the Frost household, please pardon us" Thomas said, with a badge crest in had.

Looking at the crest in the suited man's hand, the guard immediately relaxed, before feeling shocked when his brain processed the new information.

Although he wanted to ask more questions he knew time was of the essence.

"We'll talk later, let's go, we don't have much time" he said before turning around and leading the group away.
