The thick mist hung over the battlefield, reducing visibility as Zabuza silently moved within its cover. Kakashi stood at the ready, his Sharingan eye exposed, tracking every movement he could perceive through the mist. Zabuza made 4 water clones and sent them away. Meanwhile, Zabuza's real body engaged Kakashi in a fast-paced taijutsu battle, the clang of metal echoing through the fog.
Zabuza grinned behind his mask. "Kakashi, Let's see if you can keep up." Kakashi's eyes widened for a split second as he noticed the clones heading toward his students. 'He's splitting his attention to target Tazuna. I can't let him succeed, but this fight with Zabuza is keeping me pinned down.'
Yuto, with his Kamigan active, immediately noticed the clones' approach through the thinning mist. "Incoming! Four clones, heading for us!" he shouted. Hitomi's Sharingan caught them a moment later, and she readied herself.
Kakashi wanted to intercept the clones, but Zabuza blocked his way with a swing of his massive blade. "You're not getting past me, Kakashi."
'Team 7, this is your fight now,' Kakashi thought as he was forced to focus on Zabuza.
Yuto quickly took charge, recalling their plan. "Alright, team! Operation=Mole Mass Murder Of Corrosion! Go!"
Naruko grinned, already forming hand signs. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" she yelled, summoning over a hundred clones. The clones immediately dived into the ground using the "Hiding in the Mole Technique" that Hitomi had taught her in exchange for body flicker jutsu.
'Glad I picked this up,' Naruko thought with a smirk as she watched her clones vanish beneath the earth, ready to ambush the enemies from below.
The clones dug through the earth, and the ground beneath the Zabuza water clones began to crack. The clones grabbed at the ankles of the water clones, momentarily stopping their advance.
Hitomi, observing the scene, started forming her own hand signs. "It's my turn," she muttered, a smirk tugging at her lips. She turned to Yuto, who was already preparing his next move.
Yuto focused, forming a green corrosive sphere in his hand. It bubbled and hissed, releasing a toxic steam that made the air around it sizzle. He controlled the corrosive ball to Hover at a safe distance from Hitomi. "Get ready, Hitomi!"
"Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!" Hitomi called out, launching multiple fireballs toward Yuto's corrosive sphere. As the fireballs passed through and absorbed the acidic energy, they turned into greenish-black flames that swirled together into a larger, more intense fireball.
The ground erupted as all the Naruko clones finally breached the surface, distracting the water clones long enough For the enhanced fireball to fully form. The greenish-black fireball exploded in the midst of the water clones, causing a massive blast that sent acidic flames flying in all directions. The ground sizzled and steamed where the flames touched, leaving nothing but charred and sizzling earth behind.
The real Zabuza's eyes widened in surprise. "What the hell...?" He glanced back briefly, witnessing the destruction the genin had wrought on his clones.
Kakashi took advantage of Zabuza's momentary distraction, slipping into Zabuza's blind spot. "You're underestimating my students, Zabuza," Kakashi said, driving a kunai toward his opponent.
Zabuza barely managed to dodge, but the cut on his arm was evidence that Kakashi was starting to gain the upper hand. "You trained them well, Kakashi. But I've only just begun!" Zabuza taunted, leaping back to create distance.
"Phew... I am glad that worked out fine." Naruko muttered, wiping sweat from her brow.
Hitomi, still maintaining her confident demeanor, approached Yuto. "That combination attack was pretty impressive. We need to refine it more, though."
Yuto nodded, his eyes still sharp and focused. 'This is just the beginning. If things follow the anime, there's more trouble ahead. But for now, we need to focus on Zabuza.' He couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement coursing through him. 'This is why I came to this world... to experience the real battles, not just watch them. Every since I have arrived here, i always felt a thrill when fighting against someone. It is almost similar to how Saiyans in the dragon ball anime feel.'
Tazuna, who had been huddled behind the team, stared in awe. "You kids... are something else. Maybe I won't die after all," he muttered to himself, a small spark of hope igniting.
Kakashi, sensing that his students had the situation under control, turned his full attention back to Zabuza. "Alright, Zabuza. Time to end this."
The mist began to thicken once again, as Zabuza's chakra surged. "Let's see you try, Kakashi. I'll show you why they call me the Demon of the Mist."
