The subsequent weekdays passed uneventfully for Abbey, who adhered to his usual routine of commuting to work and returning home. Meanwhile, Sharon was fully engrossed in her fervent campaign for animal rights advocacy. However, amidst the monotony, Lily harbored ulterior motives towards Abbey. She tirelessly hatched various schemes to captivate his attention, hoping to entice him into agreeing to go out with her. Yet, Abbey consistently evaded her advances, always brandishing excuses or plausible reasons to decline.
On one fateful evening, while Abbey was nestled in the comforts of his home, a terse knock resonated through his dwelling. Initially apprehensive, Abbey reluctantly swung the door ajar, only to be met with a breathtaking sight. Staring back at him was a resplendent figure, none other than Lily herself. Initially oblivious to her identity, Abbey's gaze gradually ascended from her flawless legs to her voluptuous form, ensnared by her undeniable allure. As realization dawned upon him, Abbey found himself ensnared by Lily's tantalizing allure, accentuated by her exquisite attire that left him utterly spellbound.
"Hey, Lily. What are you doing here?" Abbey asked, his eyebrows raised in confusion.
Lily smiled at him, her blonde hair cascading down her shoulders. "Is that how you welcome your guests, Abbey?" she replied, her tone teasing.
Abbey chuckled, a bit taken aback by her boldness. He quickly ushered her inside before closing the door behind him.
"Seriously though, what brings you here?" Abbey asked, his tone now serious.
Lily took a deep breath before answering, "I came to thank you, Abbey. You saved my life seven years ago when I was in a coma."
Abbey's jaw dropped in surprise. He had no idea that Lily was the same person he had helped all those years ago. "I had no idea it was you," he said, still in shock.
Lily grinned at his reaction. "I know. I didn't recognize you either at first. But then I remembered your name and I asked around until I found out where you lived."
Abbey nodded, still trying to process everything. "I'm glad you're okay now," he said sincerely.
Lily's expression turned serious. "That's actually why I'm here, Abbey. I want to ask for your help again." Hearing those words made
Abbey's brow furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean?"
Lily took a deep breath before continuing, "You see, ever since my recovery, people have been coming to me for advice and help. They want to know how I managed to come out of a coma after seven years. And I always tell them about you, about how you played a part in my recovery."
Abbey's eyes widened in surprise. He had no idea that Lily had been sharing his role in her recovery with others.
"And I also know that you have some kind of ability," Lily added with a knowing look.
Abbey's heart raced as he tried to wrap his head around what Lily was saying. How did she know about his abilities? He had always kept them hidden from the world.
Lily continued, "So, I was hoping that you would do for others what you did for me. Help them find their way back to life, just like you did for me."
Abbey sighed, feeling conflicted. He had always kept his abilities hidden for a reason. But seeing the hopeful look in Lily's eyes, he couldn't say no.
"Alright," he finally said. "I'll do it. But on one condition, you have to promise me that you won't share my abilities with anyone else. They're only for those who truly need my help."
Lily's face lit up with a smile. "I promise. Thank you, Abbey. You truly are a special kind of person."
Abbey couldn't help but smile back at her. Maybe it was time for him to embrace his abilities and use them to help others, just like he had helped Lily. Who knows, maybe he could make a difference in the world after all.
"Now that we have that sorted out, why don't I take you out for dinner?" Lily hinted with a blushing smile. Abbey was at a loss for words, caught in awe by Lily's comment. "I don't think that is a good idea," replied Abbey. "Why", those were the only words that could come out of Lily's mouth. Abbey sighed exasperatedly, trying to explain the best way he could without hurting Lily's feelings. "I don't want others to think I am taking advantage of you because you helped in healing me," Abbey finally concluded. With a renewed hope, Lily's heart felt lighter now. She had thought that he was not interested in her, but now she realized the truth. It wasn't that he was not interested in her, he was worried about what people would think about him. Lily did a double take before saying, "I don't care what people say or think about me going out with you. All I know is I was in a coma for seven years and you saved me. And besides, this is just a thank you dinner. It's my way of showing my appreciation," Lily concluded.
Abbey's mind was consumed by thoughts of Sharon, despite the fact that he was conversing with Lily. He couldn't understand why she was the only thing on his mind. Lily's pitiful expression only added to his confusion. How could he reject her? He was feeling overwhelmed and unsure about what to do. The temptation of being with a stunning woman like Lily was too great to resist, he pondered to himself.
Seeing that he had no other choice or option, Abbey could only agree to Lily's request. "I will be ready in ten minutes," he replied.
Later that evening, Lily and Abbey strolled into the restaurant, catching the eye of a bystander who couldn't help but see them as the perfect couple. Lily seemed particularly thrilled to be with Abbey today, eagerly signaling the waitress for the best bottle of wine they had.
Abbey was taken aback by her boldness, but Lily seemed to have picked up on his thoughts. She quickly revealed, "I've been in a coma for seven years," her voice trailing off. "So please forgive my lack of manners."
With a smile on his face, Abbey reassured her, "Please, I don't mind. If I had been in a coma for that long, I don't think I would act any differently than you."
They both chuckled in unison, enjoying each other's company over drinks and conversation. But before they could get too comfortable, a figure suddenly appeared before them, her tone of voice tense and urgent.
