[In this fu****-up world, you never know when a catastrophe will befall you, when a ghost will ambush you, when someone will swindle you, or when you are gonna get attacked by a weapon or by a bomb.
Therefore, you shall always be ready. A bag of emergency supplies, first aid kit, religious relics, sturdy bats and an overthinking mentality.
I mean, look at the world! Nothing can be overthinking.]

Coming out of the car, I was typing hurriedly with shaking hands that suddenly Mr. Jerald's voice came from behind me. "You are not gonna ditch those innocent children, are you?"
" MY GODNESS! Mr. Jerad, you scared me! How did you come so fast?" I said, with a hand on my heart. Noting the new post, adding to the other still loading ones.
"I was taking a nap in the truck... You are going back, right?" He asked again, staring at me intimidatingly.
Looking at Mr. Jerald, I shrugged. Even I don't know.
"It depends on my conversation with Grandfather. I don't even know if they can leave that place..."
"Of course they can. They are not prisoners, and they have rights as living beings and are as free as you! They are just under that irresponsible senile's care!" Mr. Jerald snapped at me with an angry tone as he turned toward his village!
"Follow me. I will bring you to my house to call Samuel."
What about Lucas? As I was about to ask the arm-crossed Lucas about his opinion, he passed by me, following Mr. Jerald.
"..."
In no time, we were at Mr. Jerald's house. A tower made of polished stones surrounded by embraced by a tree and decorated with shining diamonds.
Everything was just like what I had envisioned them: the houses, people, and the river. It was kind of scary every time the visions proved true. It meant bad things were going to happen. Real horrible nightmares were on their way to this world.
Staring at Mr. Jerald, unlocking the iron door that had a huge pattern of a long sword on it, I felt an irony taste in my mouth and my thumb stung. I looked at my fingers...
"Bravo! In less than a day, you finished all of your nails. With this you don't have anymore finger nail to eat! If you had put this much effort into making money, I didn't have to be here!!"
It was Lucas, talking sarcastically. He didn't even hold back anymore...
I rolled my eyes. He started sounding like my mother.
"Are you my guardian or am I yours?"
He glared at me as if he was glaring at a child and sighed. Then patted me on the shoulder.
My eyes couldn't get bigger.
"At this rate, I should be the one taking you under my wings!"
Now, both my eyes and mouth were wide open in humiliation.
'Hah! I am out of words. Why is it that kids never take me seriously?' Well, I am thankful that at least I don't have to be a teacher. Even though I indeed got the degree.
Since I wasn't sure if I could survive medicine, my second plan was to be a teacher. Therefore, I got my teacher's certification as a high school teacher in math next to my studies to become a doctor. I did it two years ago after a hellish internship period.
I turned my head to Lucas, looking down at him.
"Did you knew your I had my teaching internship at your new school?"
"You said you are a fortune teller!"
"Why can't fortune tellers have educations? Remember what Dylan said about you being my student? I have a teaching degree in math and your school has offered me a job as a first years math teacher!"
Not lying about the offer, but I would never do that...
Taking out my phone, I showed him the pdf documents of my teaching degree I had previously made to print out and the mail containing the offer.
"Gulp... You knew that school is shit and full of trouble kids, right? I don't want you to get yourself into trouble because of me."
His instant sweating face made me sure that I have to forget those alluring bonuses. I gave him side eyes as I followed Mr. Jerald in.
"Sorry for the intrusion..." I said awkwardly, entering the house as Mr. Jerald didn't even bother saying anything and just went upstairs.
Inside the house was just like it's outside. Entering the house, there was a corridor with a door on the left side and a stone stairs leading upstairs on the right side.
Where should I go?
"Go to the living room. I will come down soon."
Mr. Jerald's shout realised me from the confusion. Taking off my shoes and putting them on the side, I set my foot on the corridor's beautiful bright carpet with a burning phoenix with spread wings on it. The mastership seemed to be the same as the ones on my house's second floor.
"Could you appreciate less and go more?" Lucas sounded sarcastically.
I turned around, looking at him, who was taking off his shoes, with a warning.
"Hey! Don't make me accept that offer and have you spend an entire year with me by your side from day to night!" I said in a controlled, low voice, but with a serious tone.
He raised his palms in the air and then mimicked zipping his mouth. Imitating being innocent and defeated.
I hold my mouth to conceal the raising corners of my mouth as I turned back and walked on the carpet. Unlike the black outside, the inside of the house was wonderfully beautiful.
At the end of the corridor was a brightly lit banquet hall. On one side was a long dining board with three exquisitely carved wooden chandeliers hanged above it. Both the table and chairs looked vintage and beautiful.
On the other side were sofas around another beautiful wooden table. On the table was a tea set with a boiling teapot, on teapot warmer, sweets and fruits. There was also a beautiful woman with golden firmed glasses sitting on one sofa reading a book, one of her long legs resting on another.
She had long beaded silver hair resting on one of her shoulders, and pointy ears decorated with golden earrings and gems. With our foot she getting closer, she looked up once before turning her eyes back to the book. She had glowing silver eyes reminding me of Silver.
So beautiful that if she isn't mute, it is the end of unfairness. Her beauty made me feel ugly...
"If you set your wet feet on my carpet, I will beat you to death."
Her threatening voice made me first fearfully look at my feet, then at Lucas's feet.
Behind Lucas, at the end of the corridor, stood Mr. Jerald dressed in white clean clothes, hurriedly drying his feet with a towel. The thought that was accruing to my mind made my jaw drop. Impossible! No way in hell!
"Dear~ don't be like this in front of these kids!" said the ghoul like Mr. Jerald, in a cutis tone.
Wow! My jaw couldn't drop any lower... I am seeing him in another light.
He then took everything to another level by running towards her with that mountain like build of his and hugging her.
'Blegh!' Mentally throwing up, I noted to ask him about his secret!
Lucas ran past me towards them and, before I could catch him, bowed on his knees in front of Mr. Jerald.
"Master, please take me in as your disciple!" He shouted as he bumped his head to the carpeted floor. Seems like I am one step behind him...
