They looked at each other as if they could tear each other with their eyes. Not taking their glares from each other, even when I entered.
Then, suddenly, several cuts were on each of Emerald's and Cinnamon's faces as their expressions became even more grave.
"You..!"
"You little!"
'These little things!' I thought as I hurriedly grabbed the Torques meant to get destroyed by the Iron shards coming from Cinnamon and the Wind arrows coming from Emerald, and run to the very back.
The sound of the wind and iron hitting the trailer filled the not so small space. I was terrified of these children, but even if I did nothing, it would be impossible to survive in here.
Especially when Gold was speeding like crazy and without concerning herself about what was happening back here.
"Stop it!" I screamed angrily, which unexpectedly made them halt and look my way with hostile stares.
"Were you planning on killing Turquoise?" I shouted again, showing the shaking Turquoise, who was almost split into pieces seconds ago.
Both of them looked at him, looking surprised and scared.
Luckily, they turned their heads from each other and didn't attack each other until the end of the ride.
Neither did the other two, Silver and Apple, who were looking at each other with thug like expressions.
'I will never have a child!' I promised in my heart. Even though a bit late....
This event drowned me in deep thoughts and concerns, making me shiver like a drenched rat in the rain. Grandfather talked as if it was nothing more than a simple babysitting, but it was even more dangerous than neutralizing bombs.
How am I supposed to live with these about to explode ticking bombs?
The realization hit me real hard. Unlike earlier that I was under heavy influence of the visions, now I saw things more clearly.
They were not like my siblings whose fights led at most to cussing each other out.
This time I got lucky. What if they go crazy and destroy everything and kill everyone? Forgot about my damned first actual possession. I can never forgive myself if anything happens to Lucas because of my hypocrites.
The whispers started ringing in my ears again. Reminding me of just how miserable I am, miserable enough that I can't even be miserable for my own miseries. It reminded I have to relay this ominous feeling to others. It summoned up the burred visions. The horror, the scars, the blood, the doom, and the silent cries of help.
"Sheesh! Sheesh! Everything is okey! You don't have to fear. I will protect you!"
Small hands embraced me, tapping my back softly. With every tap, something warm, like sunshine, covered my whole being. Blowing away the whispers like they never even were here to begin with.
It felt like a miracle. The first time I am feeling normal, even after hearing those whispers and remembering the horrors. Turquoise's silky blue hair brushed softly on my nose. A fresh scent of sunshine and soil after rain...
Unconsciously, eager for more of the warm sunshine, I hugged the small body back.
Doing that, I made eye contact with cinnamon, who jumped towards me and, without letting me understand what was happening, snatched the comfortable hand warmer away from me.
I looked at my empty embrace. It was oddly disjointing. I looked at the child who happily hugged back the protective Cinnamon and laughed sillily. What if I can't endure it after this?
"He He! I still love Cinnamon the best!"
I stared eagerly at the child. What had that mischievous child done to me? It was so addictive and reliving that I even let him hug me!
Even though I hugged my siblings occasionally, never had I ever enjoyed being hugged back. It kind of made my skin crawl, but this time not only it was comfortable, it also made those voices and visions go away without aftermaths...
"What are you looking at??!" Cinnamon said, hugging Torques tightly, as if he wanted to hide him from my sight.
My focus was on those two that Silver's voice came. Even more sneaky and quiet than Lucas but, somehow, I didn't get jolted when Silver's arrogant and demanding voice came right from next to my ear.
"You know, I can cast calming spells, too! If you apologize for calling me old and praise my handsomeness, I will cast you one!"
Narrowing my eyes, I carefully pushed him farther. Not having Alzheimer, I haven't forgotten about how dangerous this angel looking boy is. Casting around lightning bullets that can turn one into powder!
He looked at me with unbelieving eyes...
Then his stare fell to the trailer's floor as he hugged both his knees and leaned his head on them.
"Why am I hated? " He murmured to himself now and then.
By staying in that position and keeping on those murmurs, he had turned the already hostile Cinnamon look at me with even more hostility and even bare his teeth at me like a beast.
Fortunately, as I was under those mental pressures, the car brake. Hurrying to leave the trailer, I felt my feet unable to move. Looking down at them, I saw Silver's eager eyes.
"If you apologize and call me handsome, I will cast you calming spells and... And even let you hug me afterwards..."
I looked at him, speechless. Why did he sound like he was making a tremendous sacrifice? I don't want to hug a random kid either!
'What is the deal with this guy? Doesn't he see his younger brother casting me daggers? He is for sure getting revenge!' I thought as I looked for a way to run.
"Ugh!"
I tried my best to pull my ankles out of his grip, but I only moved less than an inch. Even a fragile-looking boy like him is stronger than me.
"Look, Silver, you are a really great and handsome child. I am apologizing for my mistake! Could you please let me go?!" I plead in defeat.
Hearing my words, he became slightly red. Yet he didn't loosen his grip. Instead, he looked away and tightened his grip.
"Yeah, I know, I am outstanding. You know, you could pet my head if you so badly want to! You can also be my elder sister now that you want it very much! I mean you- are not so bad yourself. I could accept you as my older sister if you insist!"
His voice shook by the end of his speech, and he turned as red as an apple. This time it was my turn to look at the other with dead fish eyes.
"What did you just say? Wh-y would I become your sister?" I said in a controlled voice, feeling frozen anew.
Gold's agreeing words came from outside.
"He isn't wrong though..! They count as those irresponsible wenches children since they weren't completely born from nature, like I did."
Her words made the boy's eyes shine like a full moon, and mine to glow as an ominous dark night.
"What nonsense are you saying? At most they will be my aunts and uncles!!!" I hissed towards Gold. Really like mother, like her son!
Both were trying to push responsibilities up my sleeves.
'For fu-xx's sake, I am already an almost divorced, unwed single mother! Are they trying to make me an unmarried single mother with eight underage younger siblings to care for?' I thought, almost throwing up blood!
My painful ankle made me look down at Silver again. Now Crimson had also joined him.
Both inserting pressure on my poor ankles. Silver was now as white as a corpse and his hands were freezing cold.
"No! You can't call me that! If you call me that, I will look even more old! Then I will end up alone like Gold!" He said in a hurry, looking yet again pale.
Watching him a funny thought accrued to me, making me give him a big smile.
'I would love to see mother's sister and brothers' faces when they find out about these trailing children of their parents!'
The thought unexpectedly made me feel a cool breeze blowing my boiling stomach. I looked at the children in a new light, only if they knew they have to split the inheritance into 12 pieces instead of 4!
"pfft! Hahahahahahah!" I started laughing like a psychopath!
Then, ignoring everyone's suspicious looks, I went on my knees and embraced both of the children while truly finding their existences joyful!
A smirk came to my lips.
'Only if I could lure those smug people here! '
