Chapter 25 - A room that makes you feel warm.

If this is a dream, I don't want to wake up. The room was so beautiful that you could mistake it for a room right out of a fairy tale. It looked like it was a room for an empress or an emperor.

There was a massive blinding chandelier above an emperor-sized bed, made of mahogany, with extravagant bedding in gold and red. On the floor was a beautiful silk carpet with patterns of the lily of the valley in a mild, golden background.

The white spotless ceiling had elegant carvings in white and gold too. There were curtains with the same patterns as the bedding hanging from the corners of the room, and if you looked more closely between the chandelier and ceiling, there was a projector facing the white wall opposite the bed.

On the same wall, next to the corner, was a wall-sized bookshelf, and next to it was a dressing table and chair, all in mahogany and with the same elegant carvings as the bed. There was yet another endearing part next to those two. A fireplace was inside the wall, opposite the bed, and under the white space designed for the projector projection.

On one side of the bed was an all-glass wall connecting the room to a balcony the same size as the one in the corridor, with a white marble tea table in a golden-colored frame and chair. It was so dreamy and pleasant to the eyes that I could imagine just sitting there and reading books the entire day without getting tired. It's as if someone has painstakingly organized everything to create a set of everything. At that, according to my preferences.

I am done looking around the room. But there are some things left yet to be explored. Next to the bed were two doors with a distance of one and a half m. I could guess one of them should be a bathroom to make this already perfect setting into another level of perfection.

Opening the first one with ecstasy, I encountered yet another surprise. There were three doors inside a corridor-style white space. There was an in-wall lighting system in the shape of roses, with blue light brightening the space. The doors were not unexpected in mahogany.

At this rate, my brain had long lost interest in sleep. I opened the first door. My mouth was so wide open that not only insects, but even birds, could go inside. I closed it immediately. After coming down, I opened it again. Inside the vast room, there was literary a hot spring. A lion's head of gold was on the wall behind it and hot water flowed from it. Next to the hot spring was a white marble tube. A shelf full of the most expensive body washes, shampoos, and skincare products. Everything is brand new.

Remembering I had unread messages from Grandfather, I took out my phone.

[ By the way, I have cleaned up the second floor a bit.

P.S. Your late birthday present from the world's most generous grandfather. Tsk. Who appreciates? ]

His first message made me feel all warm inside.

[Just a heads up, I forgot to mention the telephone route got destroyed during my last visit. Don't ask how! No internet either, tiny chances that you will connect to it, around my house, and no phone calls. Enjoy your time away from the modern world.

P.S. Your dearest grandfather!]

Well, I didn't expect it to work either. However, I really hope there are no more surprises. Not all of Grandfather's surprises are as pleasant as the first one. Besides, I hate getting surprised.

With this one as an exception. Just like the library, this room was tempting me not to leave. But my curiosity was greater than my desire to wash up.

The next door was an immense wardrobe. Not filled, but not empty either. Grandfather had left me some beautiful dresses. In bright colors. Most probably of grandmother's choice. She was very meticulous about dressing up and these dresses were too pretty to be of grandfather's pick. I also received heels, high heels. Some things no one ever recommended me to wear other than Grandmother. She believed pretty shoes bring you to beautiful places, and high heels to high places.

Unlike when I was little, I find her nagging, a way of showing love. Just like how I see, grandfathers mean play as one or how I find Dylan's childish actions as one. Other than heels, there were also makeup products and jewelry. Probably grandmother's way of saying you look ugly!

Imagining my clothes here made me want to fold them meekly...

Next to the dressing room was the washroom. It was spacious and had a gigantic mirror. It also had a dim lighting system as in the corridor, the navy-colored roses.

As I washed my hands, I admired my grandmother's taste. The soap had a mild lavender scent. Drying my face and hands, unlike my usual self, I meekly folded the towel and placed it back where it was.

The classy small clock in the washroom pointed out time. Time sure flies. It's been half an hour since I set foot inside the room. I became worried and hurried out.

No one was in the corridor. Dragging my tired feet to the room Lucas had gone, I opened the door. The room was beautiful. It wasn't as spacious as the one I was in, but just as pretty. The decor here was a mixture of dark blue and navy blue. This room's balcony was in the corner and it was in the shape of a fourth circle. It isn't very different from the other room, it just lacks my preferences.

Oh, there I missed an important point! Lucas was asleep on the bed. Looking more likable than when he is awake... I left the room on my toes and closed the door as silently as possible.

Dylan was in a similar condition, but different. Asleep, but in a strange position. Yet he dares to say, Why does my whole body ache whenever I wake up? The answer is, you don't sleep like humans.

Nodding my head in his dumbness, I quit the room, but not as quietly as I did earlier. He is one heavy sleeper. I went downstairs, trying not to look at the huge glass wall and balcony. I couldn't get creeped out in the middle of the night.

My efforts were in vain. I got creeped out as I looked at the open entry door. Clenching my fist on my keys, I got closer to the gate. The fog was still there and everything outside was pitch black.

Remembering the wolf's howls and shuddering, I again regretted my choice of passengers. How could they sleep? Leaving me all alone! I heard Mona, the cow! Even this cow is more understanding than those two.

Pitying the animals, I went out to bring them inside. We could always mop the floor later.

I was loosening the cow's rope when I heard a rustling sound.

Rustle!
