Chapter 35 - The Guardian Fly Swatter

I entered the home of my host and within the small enclosed space on the desk lay the artifact. It was a fly swatter, however, missing the large head that swats flies, it is now reduced to being just a stick. Though it was injured, wrapped in duct tape, and the black fly swatter was crooked. My host spoke of its magic.

You hold it with both of your hands and rub it with your hands as if it were a twig. You must bend down slightly and the fly swatter has to be close to your thighs. By doing this ritual every night before bed, you deter the grey aliens that come down to earth to watch you sleep.

They walk in the shadows with their large black eyes and big heads. What they want is unknown but it cannot be any good. By performing the ritual with the fly swatter, it keeps them at bay. A legend stemmed that an injured fly swatter loses its life's goal of swatting flies, so, in turn, it resorts to swatting aliens.
